Abstract

Our adolescents today live in a digital ecosystem that allows them to conduct financial transactions without limits of space and time. Online games, e-wallets, and shopping platforms have become part of their daily lives. A recent viral case of an elementary school student who spent hundreds of thousands of rupiah on online game vouchers—triggering parental anger toward the cashier—illustrates how children’s financial decisions can occur rapidly, without time to pause and think, and without adequate parental guidance. Various studies also show that low financial literacy, the ease of cashless payments, and massive digital promotion contribute to impulsive buying behavior among adolescents. This article aims to describe the concept of PICIS as a simple family-based program to stimulate critical thinking skills in financial decision-making among adolescents aged 12–18 years. The method used is a literature review on critical thinking, adolescent financial literacy, and digital consumption behavior, combined with the design of a home-based program grounded in reflective practice. The review formulates the PICIS steps, which include: *Pahami dulu* (Understand first), *Informasi lengkap* (Gather complete information), *Cek konsekuensi* (Check the consequences), *Izin hati dan orang tua* (Seek inner and parental approval), and *Sikapi dengan bijak* (Respond wisely). Each step is mapped onto components of critical thinking, namely organizing information, analyzing options, evaluating consequences, and using information to make more responsible decisions. It is concluded that PICIS has the potential to become a practical framework for parents to transform “wanting to shop” moments into opportunities to practice critical financial thinking, while also opening avenues for future research to empirically test the effectiveness of this program. Keywords: critical thinking; adolescent financial literacy; digital financial decision-making; family program; digital consumption

Abstract

Learning Hanzi often poses challenges for learners due to the complexity of its characters and the high demand for visual processing. This study aims to examine how cognitive load influences the effectiveness of Hanzi learning when the visual-spatial method is applied. Grounded in Cognitive Load Theory (CLT), this research explores the role of visual-based methods in managing intrinsic, extraneous, and germane load during the learning process. The findings indicate that the use of visual-spatial strategies can reduce irrelevant cognitive load and facilitate the development of more meaningful learning schemas. Moreover, this approach contributes to improved character comprehension and long-term retention. The results affirm that instructional designs utilizing visual representations can enhance cognitive efficiency and support the optimal internalization of Hanzi.

Abstract

The development of the global fashion industry and the increasing intensity of digital marketing have led to a higher tendency toward impulsive buying behavior among consumers. In this context, global brand perception and the psychological factor of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) have become important determinants of purchasing behavior. This study aims to analyze the effect of global brand perception and FoMO on the impulsive buying behavior of Uniqlo consumers in Indonesia. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach with an associative method, using accidental sampling based on the Lemeshow formula, resulting in 94 respondents as determined by the researcher. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results show that global brand perception and FoMO have a positive and significant effect, both partially and simultaneously, on impulsive buying behavior. These findings indicate that positive perceptions of global brands and FoMO-driven psychological impulses increase consumers’ tendency to make spontaneous purchases. This study contributes theoretically to consumer behavior research and provides practical implications for marketing strategies in the fashion retail industry.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) in the provinces of Java Island shows persistent disparities despite the region's dominant role as Indonesia’s economic center. This study analyzes the determinants of HDI, namely government expenditure, unemployment rate, number of micro industries, and labor absorption in six provinces of Java Island during 2015–2024. Using secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the research employs panel data analysis with model selection through the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests. The Fixed Effect Model was selected as the most suitable model. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that government expenditure, micro industries, and labor absorption positively and significantly influence HDI, while unemployment has a negative effect. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly influence HDI. The findings highlight that improvements in human development in Java Island are shaped byeffective public spending, labor market conditions, and the growth of micro industries.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship can be a solution to reduce the unemployment rate in a country, including in Indonesia. However, to encourage one's entrepreneurial spirit, support from both academic and non-academic sides is needed. The main highlight in this study is to foster interest in entrepreneurship, especially for students. Entrepreneurship and Motivation Education are factors that can encourage students' entrepreneurial interest. Providing Entrepreneurship Education, especially in the University environment, is expected to be able to provide motivation for students to start starting a business. This research was written using the literature review method to summarize various studies and discoveries that have been carried out previously. This research was carried out by examining references in the form of articles and books related to Entrepreneurship. There are 10 (ten) articles used as references in this study. Almost all references use quantitative methods, using research instruments in the form of questionnaires for data collection. The data collection process was carried out online and offline to certain respondents in accordance with the criteria in the study. This study and previous research showed the results that Entrepreneurship and Motivation Education affects students' entrepreneurial interests, but there is one reference that shows that there is no influence of Entrepreneurship Education on entrepreneurial interest. This is because in the study, the respondents felt that the provision of Entrepreneurship Education was only limited to fulfilling lecture obligations. In addition, several references add other variables that can trigger the emergence of student entrepreneurial interest.

Abstract

This article discusses the strengthening of human capital theory through a literature review of education financing in various countries. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this study identifies and analyzes various government and private funding models, as well as partnership schemes, and their implementation in both developed and developing countries. The study's findings indicate that the effectiveness of human capital development is significantly influenced by the sustainability of financing policies, equitable access to education, and fund allocation mechanisms that respond to community needs. The variety of funding models reflects differences in fiscal capacity and policy orientation in each country, but overall, it confirms that investment in education is a strategic instrument in strengthening human capital competitiveness. This study concludes that designing inclusive, adaptive, and long-term education funding schemes is a crucial prerequisite for strengthening human capital theory.

Abstract

Education financing plays a strategic role in improving the quality and expanding the offering of educational services in Indonesia. Unequal allocation of funds, particularly between urban and remote areas, remains a major challenge, impacting infrastructure quality, educator competency, and the provision of learning resources. This article aims to analyze how financing systems, whether from the government, community contributions, or internal school management, influence the quality and offering of education, and how collaboration between stakeholders strengthens the effectiveness of financing. The study employed a systematic literature review method, examining 10 relevant articles selected through a process of identification, screening, and thematic analysis. The results indicate that financing managed based on the principles of accountability, transparency, integrity, consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency contributes significantly to improving the quality of educational inputs, processes, and outputs. Furthermore, the approach of financing as an investment in human capital emphasizes the importance of education as a long-term investment in developing skills and national competitiveness. Other findings indicate that collaboration between the government, schools, parents, and the community through school-based management, open communication, and cross-sector partnerships is key to strengthening educational services and shaping student character. In conclusion, the quality and offering of quality education is the result of synergy between good financial management, strengthening human resource investment, and ongoing collaboration from all stakeholders
