Abstract

A proper understanding of ḥifẓ al-dīn will lead to a moderate mindset. Meanwhile, intolerance occurs due to a complete understanding of religion and considering the truth to only belong to one group. Contemporary scholars interpret ḥifẓ al-dīn as freedom of religion and belief. Through literature study, this article discusses contextualizing the meaning of ḥifẓ al-dīn and its relation to religious moderation in Indonesia. This paper finds that ritualist and radical religious expressions contradict the concepts of harmony and freedom in choosing beliefs as mandated by law.

Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan konsep dan kehidupan rumah tangga santri pondok pesantren yang telah melakukan pernikahan. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk melihat para santri di beberapa Pesantren di Kalimantan Selatan yang mendapatkan izin dari Kiyai (guru). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini lebih pada kajian lapangan dengan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dengan lokasi penelitian di Kalimantan Selatan dengan perwakilan setiap pesantren yang diteliti adalah pimpinan, guru, dan santri yang melangsungkan pernikahan pada masa sekolah di pesantren. Hasil temuan penelitian ini adalah bahwa pernikahan yang dilakukan oleh santri bedasarkan asas hukum dan Undang-undang Pernikahan, meskipun ada juga yang sirri. Alasan pernikahan tersebut karena khawatir dengan masa pergaulan bebas sekarang ini dan menjaga santri agar tetap focus dalam mengembangkan keilmuannya.  This study aims to find the concept and household life of Islamic boarding school students who have married. This research attempts to look at the students in several Islamic boarding schools in South Kalimantan who have obtained permission from the kiyai (teacher). The method used in this research is more of a field study with a descriptive-qualitative approach with research locations in South Kalimantan with representatives of each pesantren studied being leaders, teachers, and students who married during their school years at the pesantren. The findings of this study are that marriages carried out by santri are based on legal principles and the Marriage Law, although there are also those who are sirri. The reason for the marriage was because they were worried about the current promiscuity period and keeping the students focused on developing their knowledge.

Abstract

Abstract This article discusses the theory of ahl al-fatrah and its relevance to be applied in the current era. This article compares the theories of experts regarding ahl al-fatrah and the legal consequences of ahl al-fatrah after death. There are two questions that will be answered in this article, namely the status of the interior people or European people who do not know Islam properly, will they be tortured in Hell? What are the limits and conditions for people to be judged as ahl al-fatrah and safe from Hell? This article finds that some expert opinions point to the relevance of today's ahl al-fatrah status to people living in remote areas or in Europe who are far from correct Islamic information. However, another opinion states that a person who can think well, but does not believe in religion, is considered an infidel even though he has never heard of Islam.Keywords: Non-Muslim, Ahl Al-Fatrah, Modern EraAbstrakArtikel ini membahas teori ahl al-fatrah serta relevansinya untuk diaplikasikan di era sekarang. Artikel ini membandingkan teori para ahli mengenai ahl al-fatrah serta konsekuensi hukum ahl al-fatrah setelah meninggal dunia. Ada dua pertanyaan yang akan dijawab dalam artikel ini yaitu status orang pedalaman atau masyarakat Eropa yang tidak mengenal Islam secara benar, apakah mereka akan disiksa di Neraka?. Apa batas dan ketentuan orang dihukumi ahl al-fatrah dan dihukumi selamat dari Neraka?. Artikel ini menemukan bahwa beberapa pendapat ahli mengarah pada relevansi status ahl al-fatrah di zaman sekarang pada orang yang hidup di pedalaman atau di Eropa yang jauh dari informasi Islam yang benar. Namun pendapat lain menyatakan orang yang bisa berfikir dengan baik, namun tidak percaya agama, maka ia dihukumi kafir meskipun tidak pernah mendengar Islam.Kata Kunci: Non-Muslim, Ahl Al-Fatrah, Era Modern

Abstract

Since the beginning, Islam has promised universal and global goodness (raḣmah li al-‘ālamīn). It's just that in reality the goodness was still particular and local. This imbalance is caused by an unequal understanding between the dimensions of exoteric fiqh (body) and esoteric sufism (mind) which represents the human condition which consists of body and mind. Thus, this research is aimed at explaining the universality of Islam for global goodness through integration between both dimensions. This research is a library research. The method used is the thematic method, to explore and confirm a theory to its deepest intent. The analytical tool used for this purpose is content analysis. The results of the analysis show that the fiqh-exoteric dimension will produce physical goodness (maqāṣid al-syarī’ah), and the sufism-esoteric dimension will produce spiritual goodness (maqashid al-ṣūfiyyah), so that with the integration of the two, the goal of Islamic universality (maqashid al-dīniyyah) will be born.

Abstract

AbstractPesantren is a social resource is a cultural maintenance in the community. The linkage of pesantren in the role of society gives birth to ideological and historical continuity with the community. PPKP Ribathul Khail is the oldest Islamic boarding school in Tenggarong City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, which lives with the indigenous people of Kutai Kraton, which is identical with the dimensions of belief, traditional rituals, and cultural expression. In its religious reality, PPKP Ribathul Khail is faced with the choice of sowing moderate religious values, tolerance within the framework of pluralism, and being at the forefront of improving the quality of life of the community through Islamic education activities carried out. His acceptance of the Kutai Kraton Ethnic in traditional rituals manifests his tolerance and moderation attitude that is present because of the view of sociocultural wisdom. This paper is the result of field research that attempts to present data on the sociocultural wisdom of pesantren as the upstream of religious moderation and its various dynamics to create a sustainable relationship with the indigenous people of Kutai Kraton in East Kalimantan.Keywords: Sociocultural Wisdom, Religious Moderation, Indigenous Peoples of Kutai Kraton AbstrakPesantren sebagai sumberdaya sosial menjadi pemelihara budaya di masyarakat. Keterkaitan pesantren dalam peranan kemasyarakatan melahirkan kesinambungan ideologi dan historis bersama masyarakat. PPKP Ribathul Khail adalah pesantren tertua di Kota Tenggarong, Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur, yang hidup bersama masyarakat adat Kutai Kraton, yang identik dengan dimensi kepercayaan, ritual adat, dan ekspresi berbudaya. Dalam realitas keberagamaannya, PPKP Ribathul Khail dihadapkan dengan pilihan mampu menyemai nilai-nilai keberagamaan yang moderat, bertoleransi dalam bingkai kemajemukan, serta menjadi garda terdepan dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat melalui kegiatan pendidikan Islam yang dilakukan. Penerimaannya terhadap Etnis Kutai Kraton dalam ritual adat, merupakan perwujudan sikap toleransi dan moderatnya yang hadir karena pandangan kearifan sosiokutural. Tulisan ini adalah hasil penelitian lapangan yang berupaya memaparkan data tentang kearifan sosiokultural pesantren sebagai hulu moderasi beragama, dan berbagai dinamikanya untuk menciptakan kesinambungan relasinya dengan masyarakat adat Kutai Kraton di Kalimantan Timur.Kata Kunci: Kearifan Sosiokultural, Moderasi Beragama, Masyarakat Adat Kutai Kraton

Abstract

The era of postmodernism is an emerging reaction to the failure of the modern era, because the progress caused by the rationality of the modern era has brought many problems that are no less complicated for the generations that follow. The presence of Sufism is considered to be able to be a problem to solve this long problem, especially among Muslims. In order for Sufism to become more established in dealing with and solving these various problems, Sufism needs to develop and integrate with other scientific domains which in the context of this paper are ecology and theology. This paper seeks to present Sufism that integrates with ecology which is then called ecosufism which is referred to by Hossein Nasr. Meanwhile, this effort to integrate with theology is referred to the thought of Zurkani Jahja who placed Sufism as a methodology to reach the level of true adherents of the Islamic creed. Through this paper, a spirit can be found that seeks to restore awareness of the great potential that Muslims actually have if they are able to live their creed teachings correctly, and the only way that is considered to be able to lead to this passion is Sufism.

Abstract

AbstractThis article examines the values of tolerance based on the Qur'an as an effort to counter the narrative of religious radicalism in contemporary Indonesian Islam.. But lately, religious phenomena that tend to be extremist and radical have dominated the Indonesian world, thus tearing apart the tolerant, peaceful, inclusive social relations that have been embedded in this country. Through qualitative research using a literature approach, the findings of this article show that first, the construction of tolerance based on the Qur’an is realized in three forms, namely: there is no compulsion in Islam or religion. Second, tolerance occupies an important and strategic position in the context of harmony and the maintenance of national unity and the integrity of the state, especially in religious life. Third, the impact of the construction of tolerance based on the Qur'an as an effort to counteract the narrative of radicalism for harmony, including the realization of tolerant knowledge, attitudes and behavior and the community can find common ground (kalimatun sawa) in mediating all differences and problems in religious, national and state life so that create a life of peace and harmony. Namun belakangan ini, fenomena keberagamaan yang cenderung ekstremis dan radikal mendominasi jagat Indonesia sehingga mengoyak kemapanan relasi sosial yang toleran, damai, inklusif yang selama ini embedded di negeri ini. Melalui penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan, temuan artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa pertama, konstruksi toleransi berbasis Alquran terwujud dalam tiga bentuk, yaitu: tidak ada paksaan dalam agama Islam atau beragama. Kedua, toleransi menempati posisi yang penting dan strategis dalam konteks kerukunan dan terjaganya persatuan bangsa dan keutuhan negara, terutama dalam kehidupan keberagamaan. Ketiga, dampak konstruksi toleransi berbasis Alquran sebagai upaya menangkal narasi radikalisme bagi kerukunan antar sesama adalah terwujudnya pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku yang toleran dan masyarakat dapat menemukan titik temu (kalimatun sawa) dalam menengahi segala perbedaan dan problematika kehidupan beragama, berbangsa dan bernegara sehingga tercipta hidup rukun dan damai.Kata kunci: toleransi, konter narasi, radikalisme agama, Islam Indonesia kontempor

Abstract

Abstrak: Tarekat sebagai bagian dari tasawuf syari’at Islam menempati posisi penting bagi peradaban umat Islam sejak dulu sampai saat ini karena telah memengaruhi beragam sisi kehidupan mulai dari tata cara peribadatan, sosial, pendidikan hingga politik. Corak ajaran tarekat pun beragam tergantung pada guru/syeikh/mursyid masing-masing, namun dapat diklasifikasikan secara umum menjadi tiga macam yakni: a. tarekat Falsafi, b. tarekat Akhlaqi, dan c. tarekat Amali. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pustaka (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan analisisnya sosio-holistik. Adapun untuk fokus penelitian yakni mengarah dan bermaksud mendeskripsikan corak ajaran tarekat dan perilaku keseharian pengamal tarekat di Kalimantan Tengah dan Kalimantan Selatan. Hasil penelitian ditemukan corak ajaran tarekat yang tumbuh dan berkembang di wilayah Kalimantan Tengah dan Kalimantan Selatan cenderung ke arah jenis tarekat akhlaqi dan amali serta ke arah tarekat falsafi. Adapun untuk perilaku keseharian pengamal tarekat dapat dilihat dan dikategorikan mulai tata berbicara, berpakaian, sampai praktik peribadatan ada yang menampilkan bahwa dirinya pengamal tarekat, ada juga memilih menyembunyikannya. Kemudian ada juga pengamal tarekat yang konsisten dengan satu ajaran tarekat yang ia ikuti sejak awal, ada juga yang mengamalkan lebih dari satu ajaran tarekat serta ada juga orang awam (umum) yang mengamalkan ajaran tarekat karena menonton acara pengajian di dunia maya (media sosial) seperti YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, dan rekaman video namun tidak pernah sama sekali mengikuti tarekat. Kata Kunci: Tarekat, Corak Ajaran, Perilaku Pengamal Tarekat.   Abstract: Tarekat as part of the Islamic sharia sufism occupies an important position for the civilization of the Muslims from the past to the present because it has influenced various aspects of life ranging from worship, social, educational to political ordinances. Doctrinal patterns tarekat also varies depending on the respective guru/sheikh/mursyid, however, it can be classified in general into three types, namely: a. tarekat Falsafi, b. tarekat Akhlaqi, dan c. tarekat Amali.This research uses library research methods with a descriptive approach and the analysis is socio-holistic. As for the focus of research, it is to lead and intend to describe the pattern of teachings tarekat and the daily behavior of the practitioner tarekat at Kalimantan Tengah dan Kalimantan Selatan. The results of the study found the pattern of teachings tarekat which grows and develops in wilayah Kalimantan Tengah dan Kalimantan Selatan Tend towards the breed tarekat akhlaqi dan amali as well as towards tarekat falsafi. As for the daily behavior of the practitioner tarekat viewable and categorized mulai tata speaking, dressing, and worship practices some show that he is a practitioner tarekat, there is also a choice to hide it. Then there are also practitioners tarekat which is consistent with one teaching tarekat which he followed in the first place, there are also those who practice more than one teaching tarekat and there are also laymen (general) who practice the teachings tarekat because watching recitation events in cyberspace (social media) such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and recordings video yet never followed at all tarekat. Abstract

Abstract:This article explores the potential applicability of the management practices employed in Madrasah in Indonesia to enhance the management of Madrasah institutions in Afghanistan. Madrasah play a crucial role in shaping the religious education and social fabric of Afghan society, yet they often encounter challenges in effectively implementing modern management principles to optimize their educational outcomes and overall organizational efficiency.Drawing on a comparative approach, this research assesses the key management strategies and systems currently implemented in Islamic schools or Madrasah in Indonesia, a country with a rich tradition of Islamic education and a strong foundation in modern management practices. By analyzing the successful methods employed in these Indonesian educational institutions, this study aims to identify adaptable strategies that can be integrated into the context of Afghanistan's Madrasah management.This research adopts an analytical and comparative approach to examine the organizational structures, pedagogical methodologies, and administrative frameworks of Madrasah both in Afghanistan and Indonesia.The anticipated outcomes of this research are twofold: first, to establish an empirical foundation for understanding the current management practices in Afghan Madrasah, identifying potential challenges and areas for improvement; and second, to present evidence-based recommendations for the integration of successful management techniques from Indonesian Islamic schools. These findings will not only benefit the respective educational institutions but also contribute to the broader discourse on Islamic education management in the global context.The study acknowledges the contextual differences between Afghanistan and Indonesia and the potential cultural and social factors that may influence the implementation of management strategies. Therefore, the research will also explore strategies for adapting and contextualizing the Indonesian management models to suit the unique needs and challenges faced by Afghan Madrasah.The significance of this research lies in its potential to foster improvements in Madrasah education in Afghanistan, thereby contributing to the development of human resources, community building, and overall societal progress. Additionally, the study seeks to promote intercultural exchange and learning between Afghanistan and Indonesia, facilitating cross-border collaboration in the field of Islamic education management.

Abstract

Various kinds of traditions in Indonesia, especially in South Kalimantan have values contained in them, especially social values and religious values. Likewise, the Banjar people are known as people who like to interact and communicate in the food stall tradition. The purpose of this research is to find out (1) The tradition of Mawarung in South Kalimantan (2) The social values contained in the Mawarung tradition from an Islamic perspective in South Kalimantan. This research uses descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted in six districts for districts along the Barito sub-watershed, namely Tapin Regency, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Hulu Sungai Utara, Balangan and Tabalong because in these areas there is still a strong tradition of Mawarung. The results of this study are (1) the majority of the Banjar people like bapanderan (talking), so the Mawarung tradition still exists today. The Mawarung tradition is used as a place/container for exchanging ideas and also seeking and finding information from everyday stories. the value of togetherness (solidarity and harmony), the value of harmony in life (tolerance, help, and democracy), the value of compassion (family and caring) and religious values (friendship, sincerity and gratitude)    Berbagai macam tradisi di Indonesia khususnya di Kalimantan Selatan memiliki nilai-nilai yang terkandung didalamnya terutama nilai-nilai sosial dan nilai religius. Demikian juga dengan masyarakat Banjar yang dikenal sebagai masyarakat yang senang berinteraksi dan berkomunikasi dalam tradisi mawarung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui (1) Tradisi mawarung di Kalimantan selatan (2) Nilai-nilai sosial yang terkandung pada tradisi mawarung dalam persepektif Islam di Kalimantan Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di banua enam sebutan untuk kebupaten sepanjang sub DAS Barito yaitu Kabupaten Tapin, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Hulu Sungai Utara, Balangan dan Tabalong dikarenakan di daerah tersebut masih terasa kental tradisi mawarung. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) mayoritas masyarakat suku Banjar  suka bapanderan (berbicara), maka tradisi mawarung masih ada sampai sekarang. Tradisi mawarung dijadikan sebagai tempat/wadah dalam bertukar fikiran dan juga mencari dan menemukan informasi dari kisah sehari-hari. (2) nilai kebersamaan (solidaritas dan kerukunan), nilai keserasian hidup (toleransi, tolong-menolong, dan demokrasi),  nilai kasih sayang (kekeluargaan dan kepedulian) dan nilai religi (silaturahmi, ikhlas dan syukur)
