Abstract

Itik merupakan salah satu ternak unggas yang memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan alternatif dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan masyarakat terhadap daging unggas. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan daun salam mengandung senyawa steroid, fenolik, saponin, flavonoid, dan alkaloid. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh penggunaan ekstrak daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum) terhadap kecernaan nutrien ransum dan retensi nitrogen itik lokal jantan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 18 Maret sampai 13 Mei 2019 dikandang peternakan Universitas Djuanda Bogor. Ternak yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah itik Mojosari Alabio (MA) umur 8 minggu sebanyak 35 ekor. Pakan yang diberikan merupakan pakan komersil. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 6 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan R0=0% ekstrak daun salam (kontrol), R1=4% ekstrak daun salam, R2=8% ekstrak daun salam. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisys of variance (ANOVA) bila data menunjukkan hasil berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian yaitu kecernaan bahan kering, serat kasar, lemak kasar, abu, bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen dan retensi nitrogen. Kesimpulan dari penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ekstrak daun salam sampai tingkat 8% berpengaruh nyata terhadap retensi nitrogen dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, serat kasar, lemak kasar, abu, bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen.

Abstract

Shrimp waste has high protein to be used as broiler feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the addition of shrimp waste flour into basal ration to carcass weight, life weight, percentage of carcass and abdominal fat in broilers aged between 14 to 35 days. This study used 60 unsexing 1 day-old chicks of  Cobb strains) and kept from the age of 0-13 days feed commercial rations while those aged 14-35 days were feed basal rations. A completely radomized design (CRD) was applied with four treatments and five replications consisting three chickens each. The treatments were P0 (ration + 0% shrimp waste flour), P1 (ration + 2.5% shrimp waste flour), P2 ration + 5% shrimp was flour  and P3( ration + 7.5 % shrimp was flour). The results of this study indicated that the addition of shrimp waste flour up to the level of 7.5% has a very significant effect on carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat of broilers aged between 14 to 35 days. It is concluded that the addition of shrimp waste flour to the level of 7,5% into the ration has improved broiler carcass

Abstract

The study aims to examine the improvement in the quality of fermented wheat pollard added with vitamins and minerals seen from total bacteria, gram positive and negative. The research material consisted of wheat pollard, fermented cabbage waste, aquades, salt, molasses, vitamins minerals there are CoSO4 , KAI(SO4)2, Na2SeO3, H3BO3, Na2MaO4 , vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B Kompleks, CO(NH2)2, NaCl, MgSO4, MnSO4, ZnSO4, CaCl2, FeSO4, CuSO4, MSG. The research method was started by smoothing cabbage waste by adding 8% salt and 6.7% molasses by the weight of cabbage, then fermented for 6 days. Fermented cabbage waste is then mixed with wheat pollard which has been previously heated at 121 ° C for 15 minutes and mixed with vitamins and minerals and then fermented for 4 days. Research design uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of directional patterns with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment given is the difference in the addition of vitamins and minerals by 0% (T0), 2,5% (T1), 5% (T2) and 7,5% (T3). The results showed that total bacteria was significantly different (P< 0.05) in all treatments, gram positive bacteria were not significantly different (P> 0.05) in all treatments and gram negative bacteria were not significantly different (P> 0.05) in all treatments. The conclusion of the study was that the addition of vitamins and minerals to fermented wheat pollard reduced total bacteria, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria from the microbial population

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul ”Pengaruh Substitusi Tepung Azolla (Azolla microphylla)  dan  Tepung Gaplek  terhadap Performans dan Kualitas Karkas Ayam Broiler” bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung azolla dan tepung gaplek terhadap performans dan kualitas karkas ayam broiler”. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 29 Maret sampai dengan 26 April 2019 di UPT Akademi Peternakan Karanganyar. Materi penelitian yaitu 60 ekor ayam pedaging dengan bobot badan rata-rata 40 gram yang dibagi dalam 4 kelompok perlakuan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu substitusi tepung Azolla dan tepung gaplek. Kontrol (T0) : Ayam diberi pakan basal (konsentrat) tanpa tepung Azolla dan tepung gaplek, Perlakuan 2 (T1) : Ayam diberi pakan basal sebanyak 90% , tepung Azolla sebanyak 7% dan tepung gaplek 3%, Perlakuan 3 (T2) : Ayam diberi pakan basal sebanyak 90% , tepung Azolla sebanyak 5% dan tepung gaplek sebanyak 5%, dan Perlakuan 4 (T3) : Ayam diberi pakan basal sebanyak 90%, tepung Azolla sebanyak 3% dan tepung gaplek sebanyak 7%. Variabel yang diamati adalah konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan. Data dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS 17,0 For Windows. Hasil uji statistik  menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan, bobot badan akhir, persentasi karkas maupun persentase lemak abdominal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah substitusi tepung azolla dan tepung gaplek sampai level 10% dalam ransum, tidak mempengaruhi performans dan kualitas karkas ayam broiler. Kata kunci :Tepung azolla, Tepung gaplek, perfomans, kualitas karkas dan                               ayam broiler

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh lama peram terhadap nilai kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK) dan kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO) litter broiler fermentasi sebagai pakan ruminansia. Sampel litter yang digunakan berasal dari 16 kandang yang kemudian difermentasi dan dilakukan uji kecernaan secara in vitro. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakukan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan meliputi T0: litter fermentasi lama peram 0 minggu, T1: litter fermentasi lama peram 3 minggu, T2: litter fermentasi lama peram 6 minggu, dan T3: litter fermentasi lama peram 9 minggu. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian adalah nilai KcBK dan nilai KcBO. Data di analisis ragam dengan taraf signifikasi 5%, dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa lama peram litter ayam broiler fermentasi berpengaruh terhadap nilai kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK), namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap nilai kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO). Perlakuan yang direkomendasikan adalah lama pemeraman litter ayam broiler fermentasi selama 6 minggu, karena memberikan nilai KcBK yang paling optimal. Kata kunci : litter, in vitro, lama peram, KcBK, KcBO.

Abstract

Estimating the shelf life of feed ingredients is very important to know in order to assist the feed industry in managing storage, availability and maintaining the nutritional quality of the animal feed produced. The purpose of this study was to compare pollard and wheat bran with added propionic acid preservative at different storage temperatures based on the peroxide value using the Arrhenius model. Shelf life was determined by adding propionic acid to pollard and wheat bran and then storing at 15, 35 and 45 °C for 49 days in an incubator. The parameter used in this research is the peroxide number. The results of this study are based on the calculation of the Arrhenius model. In pollard with propionic acid preservative, it is known that the shelf life at 15, 35 and 45 °C is 38.9 months, 35.6 months and 15.9 months, respectively, while pollard without preservatives is 27.3 months, 22.2 months and 13.1 months. In wheat bran with propionic acid preservative, it is known that the shelf life at 15, 35 and 45 °C is 32.9 months, 21.2 months and 21.2 months, while wheat bran without preservatives is 25.1 months, 15, respectively. 1 month and 14.8 months Keywords: Arrhenius, peroxide, pollard, propionic acid, wheat bran.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was intended to investigate factors affecting productivity and daily live weight changes of goats at ages of less than 3 months and between 3 and 6 months in Tolitoli. The study was done for three months, from February to June 2013 using descriptive research technique. Data were collected from 135 repondents with the aid of a questionaire and goats were weighed twice a month. Locations of study which were selected purposively were northern area (North Tolitoli and Dakopamean Subdistricts), central area (Lampasio and Ogodaide Subdistricts), and southern area (South Dampal and North Dampal). Results indicated that goat birth rate in the area was 198 %/year, mortality rate was 16 %/year, kid harvest rate was 145 %/year, and natural increase was 39%. Daily body weight gain for goats aged less than 3 months was 80 g/d, while that for animals aged between 3 and 6 months was 83 g/d. (Keywords: Goats, body weight, Productivity, Small scale farmers)

Abstract

Compared to other animals, duck has some superiority as it is relatively more resistant to diseases and easier to raise. Garcinia leaf contains high hydroxycitric acid which is an organic acid known to have antilipidemic and antiobesity properties. This study was aimed at assessing the effects of the inclusion of garcinia leaf meal in rations in different length of time on sensory quality of meat of culled ducks. The study was conducted at the poultry farm of Department of Animal Science, Djuanda University, Bogor in 30 June to 4 August 2019. Sixteen culled female ducks were used in a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replicates. Four ducks were allocated to each treatment. Treatments consisted of the inclusion of 0% garcinia leaf meal in rations (R0, control) and 6% garcinia leaf meal in rations which were fed to the birds within 1 week (R1), 3 weeks (R2), and 5 weeks (R3). Data were subjected to a Kruskal Wallis test. Results of the hedonic test showed that the inclusion of garcinia leaf meal in rations gave significant effect (P<0.05) on meat taste but not (P>0.05) on meat aroma, tenderness, color, and juiceness. Meanwhile, results of panelis assessment in the hedonic quality test showed that significant differences (P<0.05) were found in meat tenderness, taste, and juiceness. It was concluded that duck meat color was improved with the inclusion of garcinia leaf meal in rations for 1 week and meat fishy smell was reduced with the inclusion of garcinia leaf meal in rations for 3 weeks.

Abstract

Quail are livestock that are kept for their eggs and meat. Raising quail is more economical than other types of poultry. Kencur contains starch, minerals and essential oils which are expected to have an influence on the external quality of quail eggs. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of commercial feed mixed with kencur flour on the external quality of quail eggs (Cortunix cortunix japonica). This research was conducted on 22 March – 18 May 2020. The livestock used in this study were 64 quails aged 7 days and data collection began when the quails were 44 days – 65 days old. This research used Completely Randomized Randomized (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications, each treatment consisted of 4 quails. The treatments were P1 = Control feed without any addition, P2 = Addition of 0.5% kencur flour, P3 = Addition of 1% kencur flour, P4 = Addition of 1.5% kencur flour. The variables measured were egg weight, egg index, shell weight and shell thickness. The results of this study showed that the addition of kencur flour in quail did not affect the external quality of quail eggs. Key words: External Quality, Quail,  Kencur,

Abstract

Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 26 Mei sampai 26 Juli 2018, di Peternakan Mitra Tani Desa Tegal Waru RT 04 RW 05, Kecamatan Ciampea, Bogor Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui informasi tentang pengaruh pemberian tepung indigofera dalam konsentrat terhadap performa produksi domba ekor gemuk selama penggemukan. Domba yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 ekor (11kg) dengan keseluruhan betina dengan umur satu tahun. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan 3 ulangan. Peubah yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis dengan sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan menggunakan uji lanjut Tukey. Hasil yang diperoleh dilihat dari setiap minggu pemeliharaan menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot dan dan konversi pakan berbeda nyata pada minggu ke 6 sampai ke 8. Namun secara keseluruhan performa domba ekor gemuk selama 2 bulan pemeliharaan menunjukkan konsumsi pakan tidak nyata sedangkan pertambahan bobot badan domba sangat nyata (P> 0,01) dan konversi pakan nyata (P>0,05). Domba Ekor Gemuk dapat diberikan tepung indigofera sampai 30% selama 60 hari pemeliharaan sehingga pertambahan bobot badan lebih baik serta lebih efisien terhadap pakan.
