Abstract

The research aimed to evaluate the onset of estrus, conception rate, pregnancy rate and duration of estrus in Bali cow, limousine cow and rambon cow after being administered with three different hormones to syncrhronize estrus. A randomized block design with two factors, type of cow and hormone dose, was performed. Fifty-four postpartum cows consisted of the three breeds were administered to a single dose of PGF2α (5 ml per cow), a double dose of PGF2α (10 ml per cow) and combination of PGF2α and hCG (1,500 IU per cow). An analysis of variance showed that different breeds did not associate with the hormone doses and their combination, as evident from the onset of estrus, duration of estrus, conception rates and service per conception. However, different cow breeds showed the same onset of estrus, service per conception and the different onset of estrus and pregnancy rates. On the other hand, different doses of PGF2α and its combination with hCG generated different onset of estrus, duration of estrus, and pregnancy rates, but shared common service per conception. In conclusion, Bali cow demonstrated a more appropriate fertility than Limousin cow and Rambon cow. A combination of PGF2α and hCG showed the most adequate hormonal treatment to synchronize the estrus compared to single and double doses of PGF2α.

Abstract

Shrimp waste has high protein to be used as broiler feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the addition of shrimp waste flour into basal ration to carcass weight, life weight, percentage of carcass and abdominal fat in broilers aged between 14 to 35 days. This study used 60 unsexing 1 day-old chicks of  Cobb strains) and kept from the age of 0-13 days feed commercial rations while those aged 14-35 days were feed basal rations. A completely radomized design (CRD) was applied with four treatments and five replications consisting three chickens each. The treatments were P0 (ration + 0% shrimp waste flour), P1 (ration + 2.5% shrimp waste flour), P2 ration + 5% shrimp was flour  and P3( ration + 7.5 % shrimp was flour). The results of this study indicated that the addition of shrimp waste flour up to the level of 7.5% has a very significant effect on carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat of broilers aged between 14 to 35 days. It is concluded that the addition of shrimp waste flour to the level of 7,5% into the ration has improved broiler carcass

Abstract

Rubber seed is agricultural waste can used for alternatif feed. Rubber seed use not enough for make ends meet rabbit, additional feed is needed to complete it to mix the ingredient needed technology, technology that can be used, one of which is wafers. This study aims to determine the performance of the growth phase of rabbit production by using a complete wafer ration with the addition of 0%, 3%, 6% and 9% rubber seed core flour. Observations made in this study were body weight gain, ration consumtion, ration conversion, and feed costs. This study using completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments and 3 replications. Addition of rubber seed flour in ingredients not significantly up to the level of 9% the production performance of male local rabbits in the growth phase seen from ration consumtion, body weight gain, ration consumtion, and ration conversion. High feed cost is found in the addition of 3% of rubber seed core flour and the lowest feed cost is found in the addition of 9% of rubber seed core flour.

Abstract

One alternative in reducing feed production costs is by utilizing the waste of cocoa pods (Theobroma cocoa L). This study aims to determine the cocoa fruit silage fraction by adding different levels of corn flour and fermentation time. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications namely Factor A = Level of Corn Flour, A1 = 0% without Corn Flour, A2 = 7% Corn Flour, A3 = 14% Corn Flour. Factor B = Length of fermentation, B1 = Fermentation 0 days, B2 = Fermentation 14 days, B3 = Storage 28 days. The results showed that the duration of fermentation had a significant effect(P<0,05)on the content of NDF, ADF, cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin of cocoa peel. The conclusion of this study that the treatment of 14% corn flour and 28 days fermentation time is the best treatment because it can reduce NDF%, ADF% and Lignin% silage of cocoa pods

Abstract

ABSTRACT One alternative that can be used for poultry feed is cassava flour (Manihot esculenta) which can be made into pellets. The purpose of this research was to know the physical quality of water content (KA), specific gravity (BJ), stack angle (ST), stack density (KT), stack compaction density (KPT), and impact resistance (KB) of pellet product with utilization of flour cassava (Manihot esculenta). This research using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) Factorial. Factor A consisting of 3 treatments, that were A0: without adding cassava leaf flour, A1: 5% and  A2: 10% in ration formulation and Factor B consisting of 3 treatments binders, that were B0 : basal ration not binders,  B1: tapioca starch and B2: wheat flour. The results showed that the interaction between the addition of cassava leaf flour and binders with different levels can be seen from water content, stack angle and stack compaction density, but on specific gravity, stack density and impact resistance did not occur interaction. It can be concluded that the addition of 10% cassava flour with tapioca flour binders gives the best quality of pellet physical properties to moisture content and stack angle, while other treatment combinations have not been able to improve pellet quality based on specific gravity, stack density, stack compaction density and impact resistance. Abstract

Source of feed raw materials can be obtained from various wastes, one of which is industrial waste is soybean seed, processing soybean seed, which has the potential as broiler ration in the form of pellets. This study aims to evaluate the fraction of broiler pellet fiber fermented soybean seed (KABKF) using Effective Microorganism-4 with different storage times. The research method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The variables in this study were the fiber fraction content which included NDF (%), ADF (%), ADL (%), hemicellulose (%) and cellulose (%). The results of this study indicate that the longer the storage of broiler pellet rations can reduce the NDF content (75.50% - 53.31%), ADF (57.57% - 41.56%), and ADL (12.33% - 5.73%). ) and had not been able to increase the content of hemicellulose (11.86% - 17.93%) and cellulose (42.39-29.78%. The conclusion of this study is that 8 weeks of storage has the best treatment in reducing the content of NDF%, ADF%, and ADL%

Abstract

Eceng gondok (Eichchornia crassipes) merupakan gulma air yang perlu ditingkatkan nilai nutrisinya melalui teknologi fermentasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh penambahan level EM4 dan konsentrat yang berbeda pada tanaman eceng gondok terhadap kualitas  nutrisi. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini meliputi  protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar dan BETN. Meotode penelitia menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu faktor A : Penambahan level EM4 (0, 0,5, 1, 1,5 dan 2 ml) selanjutnya faktor B penambahan konsentrat (dedak padi dan tepung  jagung).  Data dianalisis menggunakan RAL Faktorial dan uji lanjut  dengan Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan penambahan level EM4 hingga 2 ml dapat meningkatkan kualitas  PK (%), LK (%) menurunkan SK (%) dan BETN (%) selanjutnya penambahan konsentrat tepung jagung mampu meningkatkan kualitas PK (%), dan LK (%) dan menurunkan SK (%) dan BETN (%). Perlakuan terbaik silase eceng gondok dengan penambahan EM4 2 ml dan konsentrat tepung jagung.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the physical and nutritional of laying quail diets containing palm kernel cake (PKC) as a substituted for soybean cake in the form of pellets. The research used a completely randomized design with  4 x 2 factorial with 2 replication. Factor A consisting of A0 = Soybean meal 30% + Palm kernel cake 0%; A1 = Soybean meal 20% + Palm kernel cake 10%; A2 = Soybean meal 10% + Palm kernel cake 20% ; A3 = Soybean meal 0% + Palm kernel cake 30% and factor B which consists of B1 = 5% molasses, B2 = 10%. The parameters measured were the physical content of pellets (moisture content, density, stack angle, pile density, pile compaction density) and pellet nutrition (dry matter, crude protein and crude fiber). The results showed that there was an interaction between substituted soybean meal with palm kernel meal by 30% with the addition of 10% molasses which gave the best physical and nutritional of pellets the density, crude protein and crude fiber

Abstract

The use of packaging wafer is one way to protect feed from various factors that can cause a decrease in the quality of the stored feed. Storage aims to maintain and preserve stored commodities by avoiding, eliminating various factors that can reduce the quality and quantity of the commodity. This study uses a completely randomized factorial design (5 x 3) with 3 replications. Factor A is the type of packaging consisting of A0 = without packaging, A1 = packaging bags  of rice, A2 = packaging bags  of plastic, A3 = packaging bags  of papers, A4 = packaging bags of sacks. Factor B is the storage time  B0 = 0 days B1 = 14 days B2 = 28 days. The parameters were the texture, color, aroma, water absorption, density. The results showed that there was an interaction between different types of packaging and storage duration of the texture, color, aroma and density of the complete wafer skin of fermented cocoa pods with different types of packaging and storage time. The type of rice sack packaging with 14 days storage time produces the best physical wafer quality compared to other treatment combinations seen from the texture of water absorption and density
