Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of using various types of plastics, namely Polyethylene (PET), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), and Polypropylene, on the physical quality of recycled ashtrays made using the melting and pressing method. The ashtray manufacturing process involves mixing recycled plastic with silica sand as a reinforcing material, then melting and molding the mixture using metal molds to achieve a uniform and solid shape. The variation in the type of plastic used aims to determine the differences in the physical characteristics of the resulting product, including density, surface texture, and heat resistance. The research results show that the different types of plastic have a significant impact on the physical quality of the ashtray. The mixture of PET and PP plastics yields the best quality compared to other variations, characterized by a smoother surface, a density of 0.25 g/cm3, and good heat resistance without cracks appearing during testing. Meanwhile, the use of HDPE tends to result in a rougher texture and less-than-optimal adhesion. The addition of silica sand has been proven to increase the overall structural strength and improve the surface smoothness of ashtrays. Overall, this research makes a positive contribution to efforts to reduce plastic waste by repurposing it into functional products. Additionally, the results of this research can also open up opportunities for developing creative products based on recycled materials that are economically valuable and environmentally friendly.

Abstract

Environmental security is an important aspect in maintaining public order, particularly in areas with high social activity. This study aims to analyze the spatial relationship between the distribution of Neighborhood Security Posts (Pos Kamling) and crime levels in Brebes Subdistrict in 2023 using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The data used in this study are secondary data in the form of the number of Pos Kamling and records of resolved crime cases, obtained from the Brebes Sector Police and the Brebes Regency Central Bureau of Statistics. The research method employed is descriptive spatial analysis using an overlay technique of administrative boundary maps with QGIS software. The results show that out of 23 villages/urban villages in Brebes Subdistrict, 11 areas are categorized as safe due to the absence of reported crime cases. Brebes Urban Village and Pasarbatang recorded the highest crime rates, with 5 and 4 resolved crime cases respectively, despite having a relatively high number of Pos Kamling. These findings indicate that the high number of Pos Kamling in urban areas is a response to higher security vulnerability rather than solely an indicator of low crime levels. The application of GIS in this study provides informative spatial visualization that can serve as a basis for evaluation and policy formulation in environmental security management at the subdistrict level.

Abstract

Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology have brought numerous conveniences to everyday life, particularly in the communications and digital content sectors. However, amidst these advantages, crucial issues have arisen regarding the misuse of these tools, particularly regarding the violation of personal privacy. One case of AI abuse that has captured public attention is the editing of images of famous figures to create imaginary images without their consent. This study focuses on how the media outlet Detik.com frames news related to the case of AI abuse in celebrity photos.The approach used is qualitative through framing analysis according to Robert Entman's model, encompassing four main aspects: problem identification, root cause analysis, ethical evaluation, and suggested solutions. Furthermore, the media advocates for strengthened regulations and increased public awareness to minimize the negative risks of technological advancements. Therefore, this study demonstrates the centrality of media framing in shaping public opinion regarding the moral challenges of implementing AI in virtual environments. The media also advocates for the establishment of legal regulations and increased public awareness to prevent the negative consequences of technological innovation. Therefore, this study strengthens the role of news framing in influencing public views on the ethical dilemmas of AI use in cyberspace

Abstract

Developments in aviation technology have expanded the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), particularly for operations requiring rapid response and long-range capabilities. Fixed-wing UAVs are a preferred choice due to their superior flight stability, energy efficiency, and longer endurance compared to multirotor types. One specific variant, the kamikaze UAV or loitering munition, requires efficient aerodynamic design, high structural integrity, and guaranteed operational reliability. This study aims to design the "Garuda Wisanggeni" fixed-wing kamikaze UAV at the conceptual design stage. The methodology includes establishing Design Requirements and Objectives (DR&O), aircraft configuration, weight distribution and center of gravity (CG) analysis, aerodynamic characteristics, flight performance, stability analysis, and determining flight envelopes through V?n diagrams. Furthermore, design modeling was conducted using CAD software to achieve a comprehensive visualization, while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations based on ICAO standards and the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia's regulations.

Abstract

Employee performance is an important factor in supporting the competitiveness of banking companies, including Bank Syariah Indonesia KC Lubuklinggau which continues to strive to improve the quality of human resources. This study aims to analyze the influence of work environment, self-efficacy, and emotional intelligence on employee performance with quantitative methods by distributing questionnaires to all 30 employees using saturated sampling techniques and SPSS data analysis. The results of the study indicate that work environment and self-efficacy have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, while emotional intelligence does not have a significant effect, but simultaneously the three variables have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of creating a conducive work environment, increasing employee self-confidence, and managing emotions through coaching and rewards for performance. It is hoped that these efforts can improve employee performance and achieve company goals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of feature completeness, ease of transactions, and application security on Byond By BSI customer satisfaction in the era of digital transformation. This study used a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 100 respondents, who were customers of Bank Syariah Indonesia at the Palembang Demang branch, ranging in age from teenagers to productive age. Data were collected through distributed questionnaires using paper questionnaires and distributed Google Form links.The results showed that feature completeness had a significant and positive direct effect on customer satisfaction. Conversely, ease of transactions had a significant and positive effect on customer satisfaction, and application security also had a significant and positive effect on customer satisfaction. The third variable, namely feature completeness, ease of transactions, and application security, had a positive and significant effect on Byond By BSI customer satisfaction in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

The democratic participation of primary school students still shows limited involvement in classroom learning, particularly in deliberative practices. This study aims to analyse the implementation of deliberative learning based on deep learning and its results on strengthening the democratic participation of sixth-grade primary school students. The research used a qualitative approach and was conducted at a public primary school in West Java. Data were collected through learning observations, interviews with homeroom teachers, and documentation studies in the form of students' pre-test and post-test results. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with data validity reinforced through triangulation of methods and sources. The results showed that deep learning-based deliberative learning was designed and implemented in a dialogical and deliberative manner, thereby encouraging cognitive, affective, and social involvement among students. This learning method demonstrated strengthened democratic participation, as evidenced by increased courage in expressing opinions, the ability to respond to others' views, and active involvement in joint decision-making. The findings confirm that deep learning-based deliberative learning is designed and implemented in a dialogical and deliberative manner, thereby encouraging cognitive, affective, and social engagement among students. This learning method demonstrates strengthened democratic participation, characterised by increased courage to express opinions, the ability to respond to others' views, and active involvement in joint decision-making. The findings confirm that deep learning-based deliberative learning has the potential to be an effective pedagogical strategy in building meaningful democratic learning experiences for primary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge, trust, and service quality on savings preferences in Islamic banking with promotion as a moderating variable. The study was conducted on traders at KM 5 Market in Palembang City using quantitative methods. Primary data were obtained through questionnaires distributed to 198 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used Partial Least Square (PLS) through SmartPLS 4. The results showed that knowledge and trust variables had a negative effect on savings preferences, while service quality had a positive and significant effect on savings preferences. In addition, the results of moderation showed that promotion could not strengthen the influence between knowledge and savings preferences, promotion variables weakened the influence between trust and savings preferences, and promotion could further strengthen the influence between service quality and savings preferences.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, Islamic financial technology (Islamic fintech), and the level of financing on the performance of MSMEs in Palembang City. This research employs a quantitative research method. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through the distribution of 96 questionnaires using the Lemeshow sampling technique. The analytical method applied is multiple linear regression analysis, with data processing conducted using SPSS version 26. The results of the study show that, partially, financial literacy has a positive and significant influence on the performance of MSMEs in Palembang City. Islamic financial technology (Islamic fintech) has a negative and insignificant influence on the performance of MSMEs in Palembang City. The level of financing also has a negative and insignificant influence on the performance of MSMEs in Palembang City. However, simultaneously, the three variables financial literacy, Islamic financial technology (Islamic fintech), and the level of financing have a positive and significant influence on the performance of MSMEs in Palembang City.

Abstract

This study analyzes the difficulties faced by English language students in writing poetry based on personal experience. Writing poetry is a complex skill that requires linguistic competence, creativity, and the ability to convey emotions and imagery effectively. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with students of the English Education Department who had prior experience in writing poetry. The study aimed to identify the primary challenges students encounter, the contributing factors, and how these difficulties manifest in their written outputs. The findings reveal that while most students show moderate to high interest in poetry writing, they face significant challenges, including limited vocabulary, insufficient understanding of figurative language and poetic devices, difficulties in organizing poem structure, and cognitive challenges in transforming personal experiences into expressive and artistic forms. Affective factors such as low creative confidence and uncertainty in selecting meaningful personal experiences further exacerbate these difficulties. The study highlights the need for structured instructional support, including explicit teaching of literary devices, guided pre-writing exercises, and opportunities for reflective feedback to enhance students? poetry writing skills. These insights contribute to understanding the intersection of personal experience and creative writing, offering practical implications for educators, curriculum developers, and researchers seeking to improve poetry instruction in language classrooms.Keywords: poetry writing, personal experience, writing difficulties, EFL students, creative expression
