Abstract

The message is conveyed by the author (writer) which is conveyed either explicitly or implicitly “Eveline” is a short story written by James Joyce. This short story was published in 1904 with a story setting around the same year and decade. The short story “Eveline” is then considered to have feminist values. Feminism is an awareness of gender injustice that befalls women, both in the family and society. The research uses a descriptive form of research. The data source in this research is the short story “Eveline” by James Joyce. Published in 1904 in Dublin, Ireland. The data used in this study are all short story quotations in the form of words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs in the short story “Eveline” by James Joyce that illustrate feminism. Eveline is portrayed as a girl who generally does housework (stereotypical of women’s duties as house caretakers). Eveline’s consideration of her choice to stay with the grueling routine with her family and abusive father, or to run away with her boyfriend. This short story also illustrates how her father's abusive treatment was initially only shown to the boy. The story then closes with Eveline's choice to stay and not go with her boyfriend. This choice is made with uncertainty and doubt. However, Eveline realizes that her presence in the family is not just that of a girl who does ordinary housework, but is a carrier who maintains the integrity of her family. A literary work exists alongside the social values that exist in society. The short story “Eveline” written by James Joyce in 1904 is a work that raises the female point of view in the story. Eveline’s point of view as a woman used in the short story succeeds in emphasizing many feminist values, as well as emphasizing the role of women who have often been marginalized by society.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the poetry by Sapardi Djoko Damono on the title “I Want” with a semiotic method. The type of this research was descriptive qualitative and took the data by note of the poetry. The data was collected and analyzed by taking several phrases of the poetry. The results of the semiotic analysis of the poem "I Want" which was written in 1989 has the theme of love and was written by Sapardi Djoko Damono. Written with the meaning of a love that is really simple, knowing the true meaning using the semiotic method, along with the discussion. Therefore it could be concluded that the meaning of the poetry is closely related to the theme of love which conveys the poet's desire to love his lover sincerely and lovingly, not about conveying sweet and great words through real actions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and explain the impact of education mismatch on the performance of BPR Sinar Mulia employees. This type of research is a qualitative research. The data analysis method that will be used in this research is descriptive research method. In this study, education mismatch is not a factor that hinders a person's performance. However, it takes a harder effort for employees with education mismatches to be able to adapt to their work and work environment, besides that one's education also determines the boundaries of employee career paths.

Abstract

In previous research, several Communal SPALD-T/IPAL at SANIMAS Cimahi city were still in a less sustainable status in terms of financing, technical and social aspects. One of them occurred in the SANIMAS RW 10 and 16 Kelurahan Cibabat program which had problems with technical SOPs, community participation and difficult access. While in SANIMAS RW 19 there were problems with the management organization sector that was not optimal. With management conditions like this, challenges in management have also increased because the Indonesian government has implemented various "lockdown" restriction policies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 which has had quite a large impact on the city of Cimahi in 2020-2021. The RAPFISH assessment method (RAPWastman) is used by researchers to analyze each aspect of sustainability multidimensionally based on various indicators and provide a percentage value for the level of sustainability. The results of the analysis are then combined with a quantitative SWOT analysis as a tool to formulate a strategy for handling or developing SANIMAS. Based on the assessment of the results of the analysis, the sustainability of SANIMAS in the technical aspect is at the moderate to sustainable level (69%-81%), in the financing aspect is at the sufficient to sustainable level (59%-76%), in the environmental aspect at the sustainable level (78%-81 %), on the institutional aspect at the moderate to sustainable level (72%-87%), and on the social aspect at the moderate to sustainable level (67%-76%). The general strategy for optimizing the management of SANIMAS RW 10, 16 and RW 19 is to maximize the application of SOPs, access to spare parts, community involvement and assistance or training facilities from the government to maximize service quality and sustainability of SANIMAS management from various aspects.

Abstract

This research on distance learning aims to show how to evaluate the implementation of online learning activities in universities that are faced during the covid-19 pandemic. Research on distance learning is part of a qualitative descriptive study with a survey method conducted online. Primary data collection was carried out by distributing online questionnaires to 30 respondents for lecturers who experienced the impact of the pandemic during the covid-19 period. In addition, the supporting data is secondary data from the results of the document filling out the google link. There are how many articles related to online learning during covid 19. The results of this study are from online learning, namely independent learning which seems forced to make students feel bored quickly and slow in online learning. Maximum practice is needed in independent study or group assignments so that students can be disciplined in learning. The weakness in online learning is the lack of communication between lecturers and students due to the encounter with the Zoom application with online learning.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate students’ errors in transforming active into passive sentences of simple past tense. This research is descriptive. The population of this research was the second-year students at Bung Hatta University English Department. A total sampling technique was applied in this research where there were 30 students involved in this study. The instrument for collecting the data was a writing test. To make the test reliable the researcher used the inter-rater technique. It was found that the reliability index of the test was 0.99 (very high correlation), which means that the test is reliable. The writing test is valid in terms of content because it covered all materials that students had learned. The result of this test showed that students make 1134.5 errors. It can be classified from the highest to the lowest errors: such as misformation (47.55%), misordering (26.80%), omission (23.45%), and addition (2.20%). This study recommends some future research to find out what the best solutions are to manage the best teaching practices to minimize the students’ errors in writing

Abstract

Thematic is a learning that covers all aspects and some materials in a lesson, one of them is mathematics. Where learning mathematics is very important in the daily lives of students. Calistung (reading, writing, and counting) material is one of the lessons in mathematics. Using this rotary wheel media can increase students' abilities, interests and creativity in reading, writing and arithmetic materials. Therefore, to understanding the ability to reading, writing, and counting in students is something that is necessary and very important. This study aims to determine the development of Number Spinning Wheel learning media on class 1 calistung material at UPT SD Negeri 63 Gresik.The results of the media expert validation obtained 92.8% which stated that this media was categorized as valid and from the material experts obtained a value of 87.5% which also stated that this media was valid, so it can be concluded that the number spinning wheel media met the valid criteria and effectively used in continous learning.

Abstract

This development research aims to develop smart wheel learning media on the sub-theme of changes in the shape of objects that are suitable for learning. In this study, the ADDIE development model was implemented through 5 stages including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this study were 18 students in class III UPT SD Negeri 98 Gresik. The techniques used for data collection were media expert validation questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The results of the validation of media experts obtained 94.95% and material experts reached 93.25%, both of which indicated the "valid" category. Smart wheel media is also very effective for use as a learning medium in class III UPT SD Negeri 98 Gresik, by obtaining an average student response of 95.6% in the "very effective" category. So it can be concluded that the smart wheel learning media on the sub-theme of changing the shape of objects meets valid criteria and is very effectively used in the learning process.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the cause of the low mathematical reasoning ability of students, namely because the mathematics learning method used by most teachers is still using the traditional approach. Based on some of these problems, it can be said that mathematical reasoning ability is an important part that must be developed and possessed by students. One way to develop it is by applying a guided discovery model in learning mathematics. The aims of this study are 1) To find out whether students' mathematical reasoning abilities with the guided discovery model are better than the conventional model. 2) To find out how the influence of the guided discovery model on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This study uses quantitative methods with experiments. The subjects of this study were 40 students consisting of 20 experimental class students and 20 control class students in class VII students. The data collection techniques in this study were in the form of tests. The results of the study revealed that 1) The mathematical reasoning ability of students who used the guided discovery model was better than using the conventional method, the average difference was 0.8. 2) Based on the results of Cohen's d obtained with the value of Tw = 1.14 and Tsw = 0.80 with a significance level of 5% (TW > Tsw). So the effect size of this analysis includes criteria that are classified as high. Thus, the conclusions of this study are: 1) The students' mathematical reasoning ability with the guided discovery model is better than the conventional model. 2) The guided discovery model has an influence on the students' mathematical reasoning ability is classified as high.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence and analyze the effect of competence, motivation and compensation on employee performance at the Klabers Studio Makassar Company. This research uses the census method, the data used in this study are primary data in the form of questionnaires and secondary data. The research population is 31 employees within the scope of the Klabers Studio Makassar Company. While the sample in this study were 31 questionnaires distributed. The results showed that the competency and compensation variables had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. While the motivation variable has a positive and insignificant effect on employee performance at the Klabers Studio Makassar company
