Abstract

This article discusses the analysis of semiotic theory according to Charles Sanders Pierce contained in the film "Damsel". This film shows complexity in symbols such as icons, indexes, and symbols, which mark important messages in the story. Through qualitative descriptive methods, this research examines three types of signs in the film: the visual icon of the dragon, the index of the tragedy experienced by the women who are victims, and the symbol of Elodie's actual marriage to Henry as a political strategy. The results of the discussion reveal hidden messages in each scene, providing new insight into courage and justice in the story "Damsel".

Abstract

Thissstudy aims to determine student errors in solving story problems of a two-variable linear equation system usinggthe Newman procedure. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study involved 6 high schoollstudents. The object of this research is the students mistakes in solving the story problems of a two-variable linear equation system. Data collection techniques used are diagnostic testh questions and directv communication (interviews). This study concludesa that students still make mistakes based on theh Newman procedure. There are five stages of errors in the Newman procedure in solving mathematical problems, namely: (1) errors in rewriting that known in the problem and being unable to interpret the meaning of words, (2) being unableeto understand the questions and questions referred to in the problem, (3) unable to changeethe story problem into a mathematical model according to the procedure and do notyknow the formulaathat used, (4) unable to solve the problem using arithmetic operations correctly and incorrectly results in the calculation operation, (5) unable to complete the final result and cannot conclude accordingly with whattis askediin the question.s Theseecauses of these problems are lacka of understanding of the questions, unable to capture problem information contained in the questions, lack of practice in working on the form of story questions, mistaking information from the teacher.

Abstract

Mathematics is closely related to every dimension of life. Mathematics requires reasoning in examining abstract structures and understanding the relationship patterns within them. Reasoning is influenced and honed through individual resilience in facing difficulties to obtain a solution or what is called the adversity quotient. This research aims to describe the mathematical reasoning profile of class XI SMAN 6 Madiun tahun pelajaran 2023-2024 topic fungsi akar in terms of adversity quotient. So this type of research is descriptive qualitative with research subjects of 3 students representing each AQ group, namely climber, camper and quiter. The instruments for this research are questionnaires, mathematical reasoning tests, and interview guides. The research results showed that the climber subjects were able to fulfill all indicators of mathematical reasoning, namely making conjectures, presenting mathematical statements through writing/orally, carrying out mathematical manipulations and drawing conclusions/generalizing. The camper subject only met 2 indicators, namely proposing conjectures and presenting mathematical statements in writing/orally, the subject carried out mathematical manipulations but could not operate them correctly and did not write down conclusions from the solutions obtained. Quiiter subjects only fulfill 2 indicators, namely proposing conjectures and presenting mathematical statements through writing/orally, subjects are unable to find relevant material concepts in finding solutions to complex problems and only write conclusions from solutions to simple problems.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of social media on academic performance among university students. The introduction highlights the growing use of social media and its potential distractions. The methodology involves a survey conducted among 200 students, assessing their social media usage and academic results. Data analysis reveals a significant negative correlation between high social media usage and academic performance. The conclusion emphasizes that excessive social media use can hinder students' academic achievements, suggesting the need for balanced usage. These findings provide valuable insights for educators and policymakers to develop strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of social media on students' academic success.

Abstract

This research discusses increasing students' interest in learning PPKN through video media at SMP N 8 Bolaang Mongondow Utara. Using qualitative research and a descriptive approach was carried out to obtain data that was appropriate to the problems existing in the school. These problems are a lack of motivation from teachers and a lack of facilities and infrastructure in schools, especially when using video-based media. This causes students' interest in learning PPKN to decrease and has an impact on their learning outcomes which are not optimal. The results of this research are that during the research process several obstacles were found, one of which was that students during the learning process were still noisy, coming in and out, and disturbing friends who were focused on studying. So the percentage obtained from the results of the analysis of the interest in learning questionnaire was 62.2%, but this is already included in the good category.

Abstract

Pengembangan materi ajar PAI merupakan sebuah keharusan untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengertian materi ajar PAI, jenis dan sumbernya serta kriteria pemilihannya, teknik pengembangannya serta probelmatika yang dihadapi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kajian pustaka dengan jenis pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data diperoleh dari buku, jurnal dan publikasi lainnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pengembangan materi PAI merupakan tugas setiap guru sebagai ujung tombak dunia pendidikan, melalui pengembangan materi akan menjadi lebih mendalam dan luas. Pengembangan materi yang dilakukan harus berdasarkan kebutuhan peserta itu sendiri khususnya terkait dengan pencapaian kompetensi inti dan kompetensi dasar yang telah ditetapkan. Namun dalam prosesnya, pengembangan materi ajar sering menemui kendala yakin terkait ketersediaan sarana prasarana sumber belajar yang tidak memadai, alokasi waktu yang kurang dan kemampuan guru itu sendiri dalam memilih materi ajar yang sesuai dengan standar kompetensi yang ditetapkan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of students who are not used to using their reasoning powers but instead are used to memorizing, only fixate on source books, and feel that there is a gap between learning in the classroom and the students' daily life environment. For this reason, it is necessary to strive for science learning that emphasizes a culture of critical thinking that provides nuances of technology, environment, and society, as well as science learning that refers to the future, so that competent students are produced. In the 21st century, education demands the participation of students who are able to face global economic competition. The Partnership for 21st Century Skills emphasizes that 21st century learning must teach four competencies, namely communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. The learning process through the problem-based learning model can certainly familiarize students with developing their' critical thinking skills. Problem-based learning is curriculum development with a teaching system that stimulates the development of problem-solving strategies and basic knowledge and skills by placing students in an active role as solvers of everyday problems that are not well structured. The ability of students to understand the solar system and the characteristics of the members of the solar system in Exploring Space (Theme 9) Amazing regularity (sub-theme 9) The science content is not yet optimal, causing students to feel bored with the learning system, which is still very monotonous, so that the results obtained are not yet as expected. From these results, problem-based learning is very influential on science learning in Grade 5 elementary schools. Therefore, problem-based learning can be used in teaching strategies for natural science at the Grade V elementary school level.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that students often avoid at school. This is because mathematics lessons rarely use teaching media, which makes the learning process dull and boring. Many people view mathematics as the most difficult field of study to understand. This can be seen from the relatively complex or abstract material that is hard for students to grasp. In the classroom, teachers generally teach by lecturing and assigning practice tasks to meet curriculum targets. Besides that, many students are not exposed to a concrete learning environment and are not sufficiently involved in manipulating teaching aids. One way to make the mathematics learning process enjoyable is through the creativity of the teacher in using teaching media. Teaching media can be made using objects around the students so that their concreteness can be directly felt by the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model implementasi kurikulum dalam pembelajaran dan implikasinya terhadap kepesertadidikan terutama dalam pembelajaran berbasis moderasi beragama. Pengimplementasian kurikulum yang mencakup tujuan, isi, dan bahan pelajaran tentu saja merupakan suatu bentuk bagaimana penerapan kurikulum yang tepat dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa sehingga dapat membantu mereka meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman terhadap materi. Meningkatkan partisipasi dan keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, mengembangkan wawasan yang dimiliki oleh siswa, serta meningkatkan tingkat kepercayaan diri siswa di kelas. Model penerapan kurikulum yang baik dan tepat harus dikembangkan dan diterapkan secara konsisten untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dan juga kualitas pendidikan secara keseluruhan. Dengan demikian, siswa diharapakan dapat mengatasi tantangan dan hambatan di masa depan dan menjadi anggota masyarakat yang sukses dan banyak memberikan kontribusi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskripif. Tempat penelitian dilaksanakan di MTsN 1 Banggai, Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa MTsN 1 Banggai. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu random sampling dengan memilih 1 kelas yang dijadikan sebagai responden. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuisioner melalui google form. Penerapan kurikulum ditempat penelitian yang dilaksanakan yaitu menggunakan kurikulum merdeka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mengajarkan cita-cita filosofis kepada siswa melalui kurikulum berbasis keteladanan dapat membantu meningkatkan moderasi beragama. Mengarah pada tujuan pendidikan nasional kurikulum merdeka salah satu kurikulum yang didesain dengan menekankan pendidikan karakter yang berorientasi pada profil pelajar pancasila. Siswa mampu bersikap netral, empati, dan seimbang dalam pengembangan interaksi antar umat beragama maupun antar individu agama lain. Pengimplementasian kurikulum dalam pembelajaran dan penerapannya dikelas tidak hanya menekankan pada pendidikan sosial, tetapi penanaman moderasi beragama yang menitikberatkan pada tujuan utama menghargai orang lain dan diri sendiri. Dengan tetap mengedepankan nilai-nilai moderat dan toleran serta menampilkan sifat Rahmatan lil ‘alamin.

Abstract

People who still live in the area around the river, even after the flood disaster is a matter of concern. The perceptions and preferences of the community are very influential when choosing a place of residence. Basically, these perceptions and preferences are shaped by their knowledge or understanding of the objects that will be perceived, as well as the main reason people choose their current residence, which in this study is the river border area in the Manado City Bailang Kelurahan. The majority of the inhabitants of the river border region that suffered flooding in January 2023 chose to remain in the rivers border area, even though they were aware of the dangers that might arise later on. The aim of this research is to find out the perceptions and preferences of the people who live around the border of the Bailang river so that they can continue to live there. This research uses quantitative methods with descriptive analysis. The conclusion derived from the perceptions and preferences of the population is that they chose to settle in the river boundary area in the Bailang District of the City of Manado, because many local people do not understand about river border areas, the establishment of river borders, the distance of establishing river lines on either river-boundary or non-border river, then does not understand the purpose of the rivers border area and the people hear from others information obtained about rivers boundaries area and some have also heard of socialization from the government. People who choose to stay in the River Border Area because there is no other land for them to build houses and also in the place where they now have cheap land prices.
