Abstract

The term "sexist language" refers to any form of speech that features or gives preference to one gender over another. As a form of discrimination based on a person's gender, sexism is unacceptable. The merits and flaws of society are reflected in this widely held belief. One of the most pervasive and unchangeable social norms is sexism. This article aims at finding the direct sexism found in the Pitch Perfect Series Movie. It belongs to qualitative research. The data for this study come in the form of individual words, phrases, and clauses within larger portions of text like sentences and paragraphs. Collecting data entails the following procedures: (1) downloading the film; (2) watching the film; (3) making notes on the film's use of language and setting; and (4) identifying examples of indirect sexism using the categories provided. There are data showing direct sexism. Those belong to humor, presupposition, conflicting messages, and endocentric messages. Words, phrases, and clauses within sentences and paragraphs represent the majority of this study's data. It's a joke, but shame, disappointment, prejudice, a clash between feminism and gender, and the male perspective all contribute to the perpetuation of sexism

Abstract

Words can be cut up into units called syllables. Humans seem to need syllables as a way of segmenting the stream of speech and giving it a rhythm of strong and weak beats, as we hear in music. Syllable structure donot serve any meaning-signalling function in linguistic, they exist only to make speech easier for the brain to process. A word contains at least one syllable. In most theories of phonology, the general structure of a syllable (σ) consists of three segments: Onset (ω) consonant, obligatory in some languages, optional or even restricted in others. Nucleus (ν) sonorant, obligatory in most languages. Coda (κ)consonant, optional in some languages, highly restricted or prohibited in others. The similarities between English and Indonesian syllable structure, that is the components of English and Indonesian syllable structure consist of an onset, a nucleus, and a coda. The disisimilarities between English and Indonesian syllable structure, that is there are two combinations of stop consonant in taking the Indonesian onset cluster which cannot be found in English syllable structure. The combinations are stop /p// with stop /t/ and stop /p/ with fricative /s/

Abstract

The rampant plagiarism that occurs, especially in the preparation of scientific work in Higher Education, is a common problem that must be addressed immediately. This research tries to overcome this problem starting with the preparation of student scientific work during lectures, namely Classroom Action Research (CAR) proposals which are the output of CAR courses at PAI Study Program FTIK IAIN Pontianak in 2022. A quantitative approach is used to process research data using descriptive statistical analysis techniques based on the results of the study documents totaling 63 proposals from research subjects in PTK-A and PTK-B classes. Documents were analyzed using Turnitin software, and 3 (three) conclusions were obtained. First, there was a reduction in the level of plagiarism using the repetitive method based on the results of the similiarity index as follows, (a) PTK-A class showed the average similiarity index results in stage I (42.70%), stage II (30.73%) and stage III ( 17.88%), (b) PTK-B class stage I (69.10%), stage II (30.53%) and stage III (23.07%). Second, the repetitive method is carried out in a measurable and planned manner through the three stages starting from planning, implementation and closing. Third, the results of the grading report analysis show that search sources in student documents that are entangled in plagiarism are mostly internet sources (57.29%), student papers (23.59%) and publications (19.12%)

Abstract

This article discusses about Case Grammar that had applied in linguistics development. This grammar was very useful for the linguistics development to supported the linguistics theory especially for the syntactic development. Case Grammar is a system of linguistic analysis, focusing on the link between the valence of a verb and the grammatical context it requires, created by the American linguist Charles J. Fillmore in (1968). Fillmore published his theory of Case grammar, which highlighted the fact that syntactic structure can be predicted by semantic participants. It focuses on the link between the number of subjects, objects, and so on of a verb and the grammatical context it requires. However, people have realized that some research findings of case grammar can indeed be applied in foreign language teaching, vocabulary teaching is in the case. This article will briefly introduce what case grammar is and its application in vocabulary teaching.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this research is whether the application of Scramble learning model can improve mathematics learning outcomes in students of class V SDS attaufiq. Subjects in this study were students consisting of 38 students. The objects of this research is the application of scramble learning model. Preliminary data and test of students learning completeness are written in the form of tables and pictures. In the initial test students learning completeness level is classically obtained by 3 students (7,89%) completed and 35 students (92,11%) which is not complete. In the first cycle increased to 15 students (39,47%)complete, in the second cycle increased to 34 students (81,58%) thoroughly. The results of classroom observation increased from the first cycle to an average of 1,63 with good category, and the second cycle obtained an average of 2,75 with good category. This is students successfully reviewed from the mastery of student learning. Based on the data obtained then got the conclusion that the learning model scramble can improve student learning outcomes on the subject mathematics plane figure

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to solve elementary math word problems. This is because students are less accustomed to solving math word problems. The formulation of the research problem is whether the application of the PQ4R metacognitive approach can be used to reveal the ability of fifth grade elementary school students in modeling math word problems on the subject of fractions? and is there an increase in the ability of fifth grade elementary school students in modeling math word problems on the subject of fractions through the application of the PQ4R metacognitive approach? The purpose of this study was to identify the application of the PQ4R metacognitive approach and to determine the increase in the ability of fifth grade elementary school students in modeling math word problems on the subject of fractions through the application of the PQ4R metacognitive approach. This research began with the development of a metacognitive approach in terms of the development of Learning Implementation Plans, aids (in the form of teaching materials and LAS), math questions in the form of word problems and instrument trials. The research subjects were 47 VA class students. The results showed that the application of the PQ4R metacognitive approach could be used to reveal the ability of fifth grade elementary school students in modeling math word problems on the subject of fractions from observations of learning management in cycle I and cycle II which were in the good category, the observation results the teacher's activities in the first cycle were in the good category and in the second cycle they were very good, the results of observations of student activities in the first cycle were in the sufficient category and in the second cycle they were very good; and the ability of fifth grade elementary school students in modeling math word problems on the subject of fractions through the application of the PQ4R metacognitive approach has increased

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations made in class V SDN MOJOROT 4 Kediri City, and the absence of learning media that can increase students' learning motivation, because in the learning process teachers tend to teach learning only theoretically and concepts. Abstract concepts. So that students get bored easily and find it difficult to understand the material presented by the teacher during the learning process. With the existence of this video scribe learning media, it is hoped that the teacher will be able to increase the learning motivation of elementary school students. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of using video scribe media on food chain materials for class V students. This research is a development study using the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of 5 stages, namely the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The data collection instruments used were material expert validation sheets, medical experts, teacher practicality questionnaires, student effectiveness questionnaires and written tests / evaluation questions. Data from the validation of questionnaires and written tests/evaluation questions used a Likert scale. The results of the research on the development of video scribe media are (1) the video scribe media is said to be valid by obtaining a percentage of 90% material experts. While the results of media experts are 81%. (2) the video scribe media is said to be practical by obtaining results from teacher questionnaires of 92.5% and student response questionnaires of 93%.
