Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of medical record completeness and frequency of health counseling on patient adherence to treatment. This quantitative research used a bivariate analysis approach to examine the relationship between two independent variables, namely medical record completeness and frequency of health counseling, with one dependent variable, patient adherence. The study sample consisted of 150 patients receiving treatment at a hospital in Padang City. The results show a significant effect of both medical record completeness and frequency of health counseling on patient adherence levels. Patients with complete medical records and those who received more frequent counseling showed higher adherence to the treatment regimen. This study provides valuable insights into the importance of medical record completeness and health counseling as key factors influencing patient adherence to treatment. These findings can serve as a basis for improving the quality of healthcare services in hospitals by addressing factors that influence patient adherence. Keywords: Medical Record Completeness, Health Counseling Frequency, Patient Adherence, Treatment, Hospital

Abstract

I One major factor contributing to Indonesia's persistently high maternal death rate is infection, which typically happens in the postpartum phase. From the placenta's birth to 42 days after giving birth, there is a postpartum phase. One way to describe the postpartum period is as a transitional phase during which the reproductive organs revert to their pre-pregnancy state. A lot can happen during this period, so it’s important for postpartum mothers to stay aware of any changes in their bodies. By recognizing early signs, they can address potential issues quickly or even prevent them altogether. The utilization of KIA books can serve as a valuable resource for learning about postpartum issues; yet, many postpartum moms continue to use them in suboptimal ways. This study's objective is to In the Klatak Health Center's working area in Banyuwangi Regency, the usage of KIA books is associated with the ability to identify postpartum moms' danger signs. A one-shot, pre-experimental case study approach was used in this study. The sample, consisting of 30 respondents, was selected through purposive sampling. Analysis of the study results using the t-test revealed a p-value of 0.0000 < 0.05, indicating that the use of KIA books had a significant independent effect on the implementation of screening and complication detection for postpartum women. These findings demonstrate how crucial it is for new mothers to use the KIA book. Mothers will find it simpler to comprehend all of the challenging circumstances that could arise throughout the postpartum phase. Keywords: danger sign postpartum, KIA book, screening

Abstract

Chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease pose global health challenges that require serious attention, as they not only affect quality of life but also impose significant economic burdens on healthcare systems. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and the level of patient knowledge about chronic diseases. Using a cross-sectional quantitative research design, data were collected from 286 patients in Padang City who suffer from chronic diseases and have used EMR in healthcare facilities. The results of the study show that the majority of respondents had high levels of EMR utilization (47%) and good levels of knowledge (52.1%). Pearson correlation testing revealed a significant positive relationship (r = 0.458; p < 0.001) between EMR utilization and patient knowledge levels. These findings suggest that the utilization of EMR can enhance patient understanding of their health conditions, which impacts adherence to treatment and chronic disease management. Therefore, EMR can be an effective tool in supporting technology-based health education. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective technology-based health promotion strategies and optimize the utilization of EMR to improve patient knowledge about chronic diseases. Keywords: Electronic Medical Records, Knowledge, Chronic Diseases, Technology

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is a condition with an upper arm circumference of less than 23.5 cm, or a weight gain of <9 kg during pregnancy.  Knowledge will greatly influence the behavior of pregnant women. This behavioral factor is what makes pregnant women less aware of the benefits of food intake, especially nutrition during pregnancy. Another influencing factor is the attitude of a pregnant mother. One way that can be used to increase the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women is by conducting health education using leaflet media. Leaflet media can provide stimulation to two human senses, namely sight. Health education carried out in a structured and consistent manner can provide effective information for a person. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of education using leaflet media on the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding KEK at the Selatbaru Community Health Center, Bengkalis Regency. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a one group pre-test and post-test design. The population in this study was all 25 KEK pregnant women in August – September 2024. Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and visual impairment with the risk of falls among elderly individuals in the working area of Tiban Baru Public Health Center, Batam City, in 2024. The aging process leads to physical decline, including musculoskeletal and visual impairments, which significantly increase the risk of falls. Falls among elderly individuals are multifactorial, involving intrinsic factors such as health conditions and extrinsic factors like environmental hazards. This research employs a quantitative analytical approach to identify BMI levels, visual impairments, and fall risks among elderly residents. Findings are expected to contribute to gerontological nursing practices by highlighting the importance of maintaining normal BMI and addressing visual impairments to reduce fall risks. The study aims to provide theoretical insights and practical applications for healthcare professionals and institutions. Keywords: Elderly; Body Mass Index (BMI); Visual Impairment; Fall Risk; Gerontological Nursing; Public Health.
