Abstract

Aims:  This Evidance Based Nursing Practice (EBNP) is to increase language production in patients with non-fluent aphasia post stroke. Methods: This EBNP method uses pre and post to see an increase in language production by assessing token test scores. By calculating the number of samples G-Power version 3.1.9.7 as many as 7 respondents. Data processing using Jamovi. Results: The analysis obtained using the t-test showed that the token test score experienced a significant change before and after the administration of intonation melody therapy (pValue <0.001), while the outcome of an increase in language production showed a significant change after administration of intonation melody therapy (pValue 0.896) with an average mean change mean 11.4 (95% CI: 6.28 -16.6) and moderate effect size (Cohen's d: 0.205). Conclusion: provision of melodic intonation therapy is proven effective in increasing language production in patients with post stroke non fluent aphasia.

Abstract

Aims: This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of I-CARE-based self-efficacy nurses training for the development of organizational commitment at Panti Rapih Hospital Yogyakarta. Methods: The research has been designed as a quasi-experiment one group pretest and posttest. The respondents are 143 nurses, mostly from D3 (associate degree) in Nursing (82.5%), female (88.1%), and young adult age or generation X (48.8%). Most of them have also been working for 6-15 years (51.8%). Ordinal regression discrimination test and SEM Smart PLS.4 with path analysis were also conducted. The data is analyzed by using software SPSS.25 and Wilcoxon pretest and posttest on I-CARE-based self-efficacy training and organizational commitment. Results: I-CARE-based self-efficacy has been found “high” (55.9%). Nurses’ organizational commitment is “high” (77.6%), “average” (18.2%) and “low” (4.2%). It is also found that I-CARE-based self-efficacy does not have a significant relation with organizational commitment, which P value is >0.005. The variables like age, gender and length of working have also been insignificant to the enhancement of organizational commitment, which P value is >0.005. The level of education gives a significant influence to organizational commitment, which P value is 0.02 (<0.005). The enhancement of education level will reinforce organizational commitment. Conclusion: I-CARE-based self-efficacy training is effective in enhancing organizational commitment, but for significant impact, it should be supported by a higher level of education. This research recommends increasing formal education levels to enhance staff organizational commitment.

Abstract

Aims: This study was to determine the effect of lavender inhalation aromatherapy on the sleep quality of the elderly living at Tresna Werdha Social Institution in Jambi City. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental research with 45 participants in the intervention group and 45 in the control group of the elderly. Sleep quality disorders were measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with t-tes t. Result: Disruption of sleep quality in the post-test intervention group (5.31+0.793) was lower than in the pre-test (9.91 + 2.548). Sleep efficiency disturbances are the least affected by interventions. There was a significant difference between the pre-and post-intervention groups, with p-value = 0.00. Conclusion: This suggests that lavender inhalation may be particularly helpful in poor quality of sleep among the elderly. The study highlights the need for further research to explore optimal protocols for administering lavender inhalation aromatherapy, including dosage, duration, and frequency, to maximize its benefits on sleep quality among elderly populations. Additionally, investigating the long-term effects and safety of this intervention would be valuable for its integration into healthcare practices.

Abstract

Aims: Pain disorders are common in patients with fracture disease. Massage therapy is considered effective for reducing the pain intensity of fracture patients. The Purpose of the Systematic review is to investigate the effect of massage therapy on pain intensity in patients with fractures. Methods: The English full-text research publications from 2012 to 2023 that were found using the Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct databases were published in China (4 articles) and Iran (2 articles). Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) techniques, articles were chosen. Quality assessment was conducted using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Skills Programme. Six articles examined pain intensity with the usual Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results: The outcomes achieved were Six articles. It has also been demonstrated to lessen fracture patients' pain. Numerous massage therapy techniques, such as foot massage, reflexology massage, auricular acupressure, and elbow massage therapy, were employed in the studies that made up the evaluation. In the intervention and control groups, the mean pain intensity scores before and after the intervention were 5.72 + 0.97 and 5.66 + 0.92, respectively. The three measures of pain intensity in the intervention group showed a significant difference, according to the Friedman test. Conclusion: The analysis concludes that massage therapy is a highly effective means of reducing pain in those who have suffered fractures. More investigation is need to confirm these results and assess different forms of massage therapy, though.

Abstract

Aims: Patients diagnosed with chronic renal disease commonly experience a diminished quality of life. This systematic review endeavors to discern nursing interventions aimed at enhancing the quality of life among individuals with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis. These interventions adopt a holistic approach, encompassing psychological, social, and physical aspects. Methods: A systematic review methodology was employed, utilizing ProQuest, Science Direct, and Google Scholar to search for relevant publications. In order to retrieve pertinent information, the databases were searched for complete English-language research articles published from 2013 to 2023. Results: This study investigates two intervention categories, specifically physical and non-physical, aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals undergoing hemodialysis due to chronic renal disease. Deliberations reveal that non-physical activities positively impact the psychological and social well-being of chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis, whereas physical exercise promotes increased strength and endurance Conclusions: Dialysis has an adverse effect on all dimensions of Quality of Life for individuals with Chronic Kidney Disease. This review serves as a valuable resource for clinicians, offering insights into the implementation of comprehensive nursing interventions for Chronic Kidney Disease patients undergoing dialysis, encompassing physical, psychological, and social aspects. Subsequent research endeavors should prioritize exploring the spiritual dimension, given the promising outcomes observed in spiritual interventions, which have demonstrated effectiveness in mitigating pain, addressing concerns related to death, and enhancing overall well-being.

Abstract

Aims : Lumbar fractures increased from 46.8% to 56.0% between 2009 and 2019, causing severe pain and discomfort, a critical nursing issue requiring attention to enhance patient care quality. Methods : the study was conducted in the Seruni Surgical Room, RSUD dr. Soebandi Jember, focusing on a patient with multiple lumbar fractures and nerve root injury. The patient was selected based on inclusion criteria and pain complaints. The researchers provided a distraction technique, involving listening to classical music and imagining positive things to alleviate pain. Results : the research results showed that there was a difference between the pain scale from the first day to the third day. This distraction technique is given according to the patient's needs when the pain felt by the patient appears. Conclusions : Acute pain is a major nursing issue in patients with multiple fractures and nerve injuries, requiring pain management interventions like music distraction therapy to address physical, psychological, cognitive, and social needs. Researchers hope that nurses can apply therapy independently to patients who have pain.
