Abstract

Visualization of tradition often appears in contemporaryworks in the form of signs or markers that link it to the visualizationof patterns in the tradition of works such as batik , wayangpainting , dance and so on. Due to the diversity of media andtype of artwork on the development of contemporary art , the dataprocessing of the contemporary works then leads to the readingof signs (visual) cultural given by the artwork , which is accompaniedby the development of accompanying cultural, the term ofcultural studies moved into visual culture (visual culture).The works are classified in several classes of work thattakes a visual tradition as a theme (context) , as follows ; 1. Thegroup 's work that simply displaying artifacts , visualization of traditionwithout making changes to the shape of the initial representation. 2. The Group's work that deforming the shape of the initialrepresentation visualization tradition.Research Focus On Artists Haryadi Suadi and I Wayan SudiartaIn Indonesia , the value of the tradition is not completelyexceeded (turned off) by modern values, but rather becomes acoexistent values. Research sharpened on the selection of twoartists whose each represent 2 classes of work in order to providea comprehensive assumptions initial review of the case ofthe emergence visualization of tradition in the works of contemporaryart as a socio-cultural artistic discourse. In the group withno change, selected artist I Wayan Sudiarta, Sudiarta did makechanges in his works that are visually different from the worksof Balinese traditional painting and derivatives. But however, it'sproviding a strong trace of visual on the composition of traditionpaintings like dancers and wayang tradition painting.In the change of tradition's group, selected artists HaryadiSuadi, because his works show changes almost in opposite directionswith Sudiarta, so that such elements are produced to bevery free, but still reminiscent of the elements of such a tradition .(Keywords : visual studies, visual deformation traditio , artcontext)

The historic building forms are a facility for communication media in architecture. In architecture, the building forms have mean a sentence for a message and an expression. The building form are form elements, there are door, window, wall, roof, and floor, then to unite with form that a total architecture design. The building form element can’t explain a message if it’s a single building. Abstract

Keris culture along Sumatera island known as the Malay keris, and the one that stands out is the dagger in Palembang culture. Although culture is not a culture dagger indigenous people of Palembang, but its existence is important and penetrated almost every joint of their lives. Palembang keris culture in the beginning of a culture that comes from the Javanese keris and keris culture influenced Bugis (South Sulawesi) and also under the influence of a keris culture of Minangkabau (West Sumatra). Span of the history and culture of the keris in Palembang supported community's ability to adjust and process keris culture coming from the outside gradually gave birth to the distinctive culture of dagger and reflect the characteristics of their culture and identity. The most striking feature can be seen from such a visualization of shape or keris. Palembang keris visualization can be identified through the shape of each piece keris, namely: 1) Blade / dagger eyes covering prestige, size, type, and others. 2) sampir / dagger sheath that covers various forms sampir and pendok. 3) Ulu / upstream dagger which includes various forms pangulu and pedongkok or mendak. Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang desain produk jilbab lukis Nasrafa. Pembahasan menggunakan pendekatandesain yang dikemukakan oleh Nanang Rizali. Ada beberapa faktor latar belakang yang mempengaruhiNasrafa memproduksi jilbab lukis, antara lain yaitu : faktor ekonomi, sosial-budaya dan teknologi.Konsep desain jilbab lukis yang diproduksi oleh Nasrafa dengan mempertimbangkan berbagai aspek secaraterpadu seperti: Aspek fungsional produk jilbab lukis, sebagai penutup aurat dan pelengkap busana(accsesoris). Teknik yang digunakan dalam proses produksi adalah teknik lukis diatas kain (direct painting)penggambaran langsung pada kain menggunakan bahan pasta lukis. Aspek estetik pertimbangan gagasanatau sumber ide dan tema termasuk olahan ragam hias dan warna yang diaplikasikan pada produk jilbablukis, dan produk tersebut harus mencakup beberapa hal dalam desain, diantaranya: bentuk, warna, dankomposisi.Kata Kunci : Desain, Jilbab Lukis, Nasrafa

Abstract

Wayang Kulit purwa is an original product of Indonesia culturewhich develops in accordance with the rise and fall of the kingdoms inJava Island. It has tremendous influence towards the development ofart and culture in our homeland. It was initiated by the Giyanti treatyin 1755 which split Mataram kingdom into two and it also affect thedevelopment of the wayang which goes hand-in hand with style improvementon art works. History exP.Iains that the wayang located inkeraton Yogyakarta is the legacy of several provious kings in Mataramkingdom. Sultan Hamengku Buwana I using his authority and attentiontowards arts and culture, with no exception to wayang kulit pUiwa. Succeededin bringing it to his new palace, which is in keraton KasultananYogyakarta. The development of the Yogyakarta-styled wayang inkeraton Yogyakarta always refers to the previous collection of wayangwhich is usually called kanjeng kyai, so does the wayang developed inthe keraton Surakarta. Eventually, the Yogyakarta styled wayang purwapreserves the previous style more. Which is popularly known as classicstyle, while the Surakarta styled wayang kulit purwa has shown somechanges and development from the exsiting one and it is called romanticclassic style. it is reflected from the visualization of the wayang byanalyzing the implication of the crafts shape and the use of the colorsare more striking and varying.Keyword: wayang kulit, purwa, style

The presence of photographic technology is, of course, born to hunt objectivity because its capability topicture a visual reality with high precision level. In addition, photography as a very useful image emission inrepresenting a visual reality.
