Abstract

Rumah Tradisional Jawa, khususnya Rumah Joglo merupakan cermin nilai budaya Jawa yang masih amat jelas nampak dalam perwujudan bentuk, struktur, tata ruang dan ragam hiasnya. Bentuk fisik Rumah Joglo, selain memiliki rasa keindahan (estetika), ia juga terikat nilai-nilai budaya yang berlaku dalam masyarakat khususnya masyarakat Jawa. Pembagian ruang pada Rumah Tradisional Jawa, amat jelas dikerjakan sesuai dengan nilai-nilai budaya yang berlaku. Sementara itu bentuk dan pola ragam hias rumah juga tidak bebas dari pengaruh nilai budaya dan keyakinan yang mendominasi masyarakat. Kenyataan ini menunjukkan betapa penting artinya rumah tradisional sebagai salah satu cermin kebudayaan, sekurang-kurangnya mengandung nilai yang berlaku dalam masyarakat. Pada masa sekarang nilainilai yang berkembang dalam masyarakat semakin beragam dan terbuka (open society). Pada masyarakat demikian, beragamnya nilai-nilai yang berkembang disebabkan oleh kebutuhankebutuhan dari anggota masyarakatnya yang semakin beragam pula. Nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat yang beragam ini memberi peluang pada berubahnya nilai-nilai budaya Jawa. Demikian juga nilai-nilai estetika Rumah Tradisional Jawa, khususnya Rumah Joglo yang berkembang pada masyarakat beragam dan terbuka seperti ini, besar kemungkinan akan mengalami perubahan dan perkembangan. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan pada perkembangan dan perubahan kebutuhan masyarakat pada masa sekarang, terjadi pula perubahan pada arsitektur bangunan Rumah Joglo. Perubahan-perubahan itu antara lain meliputi perubahan fungsi dan status, proporsi dan skala/dimensi, sifat dan ciri khas, sistem struktur dan bahan, penampilan serta setting.Key Word : Aesthetic, Rumah Joglo, transformation

Abstract

Every art and culture development in Indonesia always relatedwith social, politics, ecomonic and cultural, including in religious andbelieved life of the entire society. That conditions push the change anddevelopment so that was evident there is pra-Hinduism, Islam, andWestern culture. Culture product that being produced in various forms,making techniques, and philosophy that influence behavior in a holistic,including the child's play activities life. Play activities help child to createexperience, acknowledge, and skill, so that in next developmentsteps child can be brave, spontaneous, creative, imaginative, and responsive.Those activities used as a relaxation media to release stressand a/so intrinsic complex value transformation field and examinationin light have a meaningful to the formation of the child's personal. Thecomplexity of that value gives a chance to the different creativities ofchild, so that end of a toy that being made in beach environment differentwith a toy that developed in the rural place. Abstract

Lurik scarves manifests in a functional artifacts that have values , ideas, and spirit for the Java communityagriculture. In Niten hamlet, village Pogung, sub Cawas, Klaten district, was found five craftsmen who producekinds of lurik scarves. This striped shawl users generally are women and function as equipment of their work,such as carrying herbs, lifting firewood, and bringing lunch to go to the field . Regardless of the functionalproperties, this study aims to find meaning and values contained in striated shawl . Discussion of lurik, thereare three aspects that characterize the embodiment of a lurik: pattern, style and meaning. Pattern, style andmeaning is represented in the composition of coherent lines. Through pattern, vertical lines and horizontallines, read a notion and meaning contained in lurik shawl . This study uses the concept of aesthetic JakobSumardjo use of “ a pattern of three “ to analyze the form of lurik . Study concept of aesthetics of the lineswhich manifests in the form of merging shawl striated vertical and horizontal lines. This shows the meaning ofefforts to balance the heavenly (vertical) and temporal (horizontal). Vertical and horizontal harmony producestranscendent paradox. Harmonization between vertical lines and horizontal in striated shawl implied a desire,purpose, hope, hard work, especially women in the village Pogung Niten to achieve a perfect life.Keywords : scarves, lurik, aesthetics

Abstract

Study of media culture progressively find its significances for society, when this world enter a era named ‘third wave revolution’- technological revolution of communications and information.In this era, media really have come to what term by Mcluhan as the extensions of man which alter this broadness of universe become do not more than global form of village, pressed, even is easy to folded. The problem is emerging when cultural text of media in the reality is chained very tight with the dark side of advanced capitalism ideology, what frequently call just for the benefit of economic advantage nothing other than, and have to sacrifice the dimension of human values. Here finally, media stays in its ambiguous dilemma, In one side, it has potency as benediction, but other beside, often tend to more having a meaning as disaster. Nearer meaning of media phenomenon as disaster caused such as establishing of destructive ideology carried in its existences. Other which is dominant,is establishing ideology: image and manipulation, dehumanization,and necrophilia. Therefore, pursuant to some critical points - and also due to the reality and magnitude of significance of the meaning of media culture in this era - hence more commitment to the cultural study of media becoming very insist on and important to be conducted, for the possibility to take apart of discourse of outlet revitalization of media that more align to values of human.Keyword: media culture, human value

Abstract

An effort of developing design is required in the attempt of improving the quality of craft product, determining the beauty value and proper function as well as increasing production, thereby improving the competitiveness to reach a wider market. In order to design and art craft work, design picture should be manifested clearly according to the projection shape/picture, perspective picture, ornamental motive applied, measurement in the correct scale, and the material as well as equipment limitation and finishing should be taken into consideration.The art craft is the product of work prioritizing the hand skill with certain technique that is presented beautifully and interestingly so that it will give or generate the inner experience to other human beings who enjoy it.Design development in improving the quality and production capability of craft work can be conducted to one or several elements of it: material change, working process upgrading, new equipment usage, finishing process development, package improvement, function element replacement and marketing channel upgrading.Keywords: design, craft, industry and development

Abstract

Keris in past represent weapon grasp expanding trought in the Nusantara, Philipina, Malayan, and also in south-east Asia. Keris in lack is not used for just weapon but expand usable as media have masterpiece at branch of art­istry of masterpiece for balade smith. Others some group socialize keris as­sumed to have magig, or earn to generate miracle. Each other interfere in about point of view, and also bilief in keris in society there is still till this time. For that need performed a study in order get a real point of view of keris progressively.In fact keris is an object which is unobvious and is not taboo if studied exhaustively at existing pamor patterns. Pamor pattern during the time still contain mystery, inviting various interpretation until now this. Various norm and existing confidence, tried to be traced exhaustively. In Socuety there is in a view which pamour pattern have a magig, in the other hand there is also a view in which pamor pattern represent expression of the maker. Study to assessment to this pamor pattern expected will open way of assessment to patterns of pamor of keris Tangguh Surakarta. hoopfully it will create a corret way of assessment to the pamor patterns at kerisPamour pattern which traditionally happened since making systems of forged will be studied it is expected to elaborate problem and make clear in real meaning of pamor pattern. Tracing of Pamor pattern will not get out of its hitorycally background, and also scope of where that keris expand in soci­ety. Evaluation of raw material as elementary element from making keris, and also to usefulness become militant will represent a consideration about how made the hardness kerisOf vital importance for studying of pattern pamor keris tangguh Surakarta, will concerning about technique of scheme of making of pamour pattern. Abstract

There are several topics overshadowing an artwork functioning as the means of social critique, perhaps constituting the funny but satire thing, beautiful thing or even the ugly one. All of artworks performed for that purpose will, of course, emerge as something interesting; in addition to that the work assumes a responsibility as the means of evaluating and correcting, however, the more important thing is the meaning of artwork, whether or not the meaning of what attempts to be conveyed by the artist reach the goal and can be understood well so that it will give input into the clumsiness or whether it result in confusion in the interpretation of artwork. Abstract

Majapahit was one of the kingdoms in Java from late classical period. Various relics of the Majapahit empire had been found, but the discovery of artifacts in the form of jewelry from the Majapahit kingdom was not much that was rescued by the government. Based on these, encouraging writers to try to write about the jewelry of the kingdom of Majapahit. This short paper is a preliminary study on the headway of jewelry from the Majapahit kingdom, and in connection with the relics of a bygone era then the preparation of this paper comes from many sources related to the history of the kingdom of Majapahit and jewelry produced from that era. Abstract

Telah dilaksanakanpenelitian untuk mengetahui kemampuan limbah kulit kopi sebagai pewarna alami padatekstil. Jenis fiksator yang digunakan adalah tawas, kapur dan tunjung. Bahan yang dipakai dalam penelitianini adalah kain mori primissima polos dan pada kain dengan melalui proses batik 1 kali lorod. Variasipengulangan perendaman yang digunakan adalah 2 kali, 4 kali, 6 kali, 8 kali dan 10 kali. Uji ketahananluntur yang digunakan adalah terhadap pencucian dan cahaya matahari untuk mengetahui sifat dariketahanan lunturnya.Kata kunci: Limbah Kulit Kopi, Batik, Pewarna Alami.

Abstract

A puppet for Javanese people (man who knows the real) is a guidance of live. It’s arranges Javanese people how must they act to another, how could they realizing as human being and how should they relationship with the creator (God). Puppet consists a symbolic meaning from art language character or the myth. The tradition of ruwatan ceremony still used by Javanese people as a way to liberation and holies the sin that can catch the mischance in their life. In puppet story with title Murwokolo act on Central Java ruwatan ceremony, at the beginning estimated grew from Java ancient story. The story consist holies which is liberation the God and Goddess sinner to become holy again. Meruwat means prevent the sadness by showed ceremony which performing puppet Murwokolo act. People who must be get ruwatan ceremony called sukerta child or ma , according to bibliography Pakem Ruwatan Murwa Kala and other source that copied by Purwadi (2005) which is Serat Centhini (Sri Paku Buwana V).
