Abstract

This research aims to design and implement a student attendance system utilizing facial recognition technology and SMS gateway to increase the efficiency and accuracy of recording attendance in the Cimanggung Sumedang High School computer laboratory. The software development method used is the waterfall model. This method includes requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing and maintenance. The system designed is web-based by utilizing the face-api.js API application to detect and recognize students' faces and the Twilio application as an SMS gateway to send attendance notifications to students' parents. The test results in this study show that the system can recognize one to seven students with good accuracy in one camera capture. In addition, this system successfully sends notifications to students' parents in real-time via SMS gateway when their children are not present at meetings in the computer laboratory. This research contributes to the development of a technology-based attendance system that can be implemented in an educational environment so that the attendance process can be carried out effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Customer segmentation is one of the key strategies that can help banks understand customer behavior and develop more effective service strategies. To achieve this goal, the K-Means Clustering method is used in this study to group ATM transaction data from Bank BJB Tasikmalaya Branch into four clusters with different characteristics. The analysis results show that Cluster 0 has 33 members, Cluster 1 consists of 94 members, Cluster 2 contains 136 members, and Cluster 3 includes 171 members. Each cluster shows significant differences in transaction frequency, with Cluster 3 having the largest number of members. Clustering evaluation and validation were carried out using the Elbow and Silhouette Score methods, which indicate high-quality segmentation. Visualization with PCA is used to help interpret the distribution and characteristics of each cluster. This research provides important insights for Bank BJB in developing more targeted marketing strategies, loyalty programs, and more personalized services according to the characteristics of each customer cluster. With the implementation of K-Means Clustering, Bank BJB can improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction and strengthen its competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

Acne is a common skin problem that requires different treatments based on its type, such as blackheads, conglobata, and papulopustular. This research develops an automatic acne type classification system using deep learning-based Residual Network (ResNet-50) architecture. With its 50 layers, ResNet-50 is effective in image classification. The objective of of this research is to classify the type of acne from skin images on the face, so that it can help diagnosis and treatment. face, so that it can help diagnosis and treatment. The method used in this research includes several main stages, namely the collection of the dataset, model training using CNN with ResNet-50 architecture, model testing, and performance evaluation. model, and performance evaluation. The dataset was obtained from Roboflow, consisting of three classes: acne-comedonica, acne-conglobata, and acne-papulopustulosa. The process involves image preprocessing, data augmentation, and model parameter adjustment, including Adam's dropout and optimizer techniques. The model can achieve 98.35% accuracy with loss of 0.0489 and the highest validation accuracy of 92.86% with a validation loss of 0.1976. In addition, confusion matrix analysis shows an accuracy result of 93%, which indicates the performance of the model in distinguishing between acne classes effectively. These results show that the model is effective in classifying the types of acne and can have a significant impact in assisting a more accurate and faster diagnosis. more accurate and quicker diagnosis.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as a strategic measure to enhance data security at PT. ABC, where the company's online system previously relied solely on traditional authentication methods such as usernames and passwords. In the context of the rapid increase in internet users following the Covid-19 pandemic, data security has become a critical issue. Through observation, interviews, and the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) approach, this study identifies existing security vulnerabilities and proposes an MFA-based solution using the Auth0 service. The implementation was tested through system penetration using the Burp Suite tool to ensure resilience against cyber attacks. The results demonstrate that the implementation of MFA significantly improves protection against unauthorized access and increases security awareness among employees. This study highlights the importance of adopting advanced authentication technology as an integral part of a company's data security strategy to address increasingly complex cyber challenges.

Abstract

The preservation and development of traditional arts and culture are vital to maintaining the cultural identity of a nation. However, with rapid advancements in technology and modern times, efforts to preserve traditional arts and culture face challenges in terms of information accessibility, documentation, and intergenerational collaboration. This research aims to develop a web-based knowledge management system as a solution for preserving and advancing traditional arts and culture in Indonesia. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, which enables rapid and responsive system development tailored to user needs. RAD consists of several key stages: requirements planning, prototype design, iterative construction, and final implementation, involving direct user feedback to incrementally refine the system. System evaluation was conducted using surveys and interviews to gather feedback from users. The primary features of the system include digital documentation, information access, and user discussion forums designed to enhance public understanding and awareness of traditional arts and culture. The results of this research demonstrate that the web-based system can serve as an effective solution for documenting, managing, and disseminating information related to traditional arts and culture. With this system, broader intergenerational collaboration is expected to be achieved, further strengthening the role of society in preserving traditional arts and culture as an invaluable heritage

Abstract

Electricity wastage, particularly in the industrial and household sectors, remains a significant issue in Indonesia. This is primarily caused by the lack of public awareness regarding efficient energy usage, which negatively impacts both the economy and the environment. This study aims to develop a dynamic and adaptive Android-based lighting control system using the Fuzzy Logic method to help reduce electricity consumption based on user habits. The Fuzzy Logic algorithm processes lamp usage duration data as input to generate automatic recommendations or notifications for optimal switch-off times. Testing was conducted through hardware implementation, Android application trials, and validation of the Fuzzy Logic method using usage duration parameters. Results showed energy efficiency across five lighting points, with average duration reductions ranging from 45.93 to 55.73 minutes—equivalent to 6%–7% savings per lamp. The system successfully reduces manual intervention, provides reminder notifications, and enhances the comfort of smart home occupants. These findings demonstrate that integrating Fuzzy Logic into habit-based lighting control is effective in minimizing electricity waste while intelligently adapting to daily usage patterns.

Abstract

PT. Bank Jago Tbk, formerly known as PT. Bank Artos Indonesia Tbk, was established in 1992. In response to the operational restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the bank underwent a digital transformation. One of its major innovations was mobile banking, which enables customers to perform financial transactions using smartphones or other mobile devices. This service has attracted significant interest across the banking industry. A key factor in the sustainability of such applications is user satisfaction. This study aims to assess the level of customer satisfaction with the Bank Jago mobile application to support improvements in service quality and overall user experience. The research employed the Servqual approach, measuring five dimensions—Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy—using a Likert scale and analyzed with SPSS. A total of 96 respondents participated in the study. The results, based on the Servqual model, show that the Tangible dimension scored 79.86%, Reliability 79.17%, Responsiveness 79.79%, Assurance 78.02%, and Empathy 80%, with all scores indicating strong agreement. The lowest score was found in the Assurance dimension, suggesting that aspects of trust and user security could be improved. The study concludes that users in Bogor are generally satisfied with the Bank Jago mobile application, although there remains room for enhancement, particularly in building user confidence and a sense of security. The contribution of this research lies in providing a quantitative overview of user perceptions regarding service quality in a digital Islamic banking application, which may serve as a foundation for developing improved features and communication strategies.

Abstract

Accurate early detection is important to improve the quality of life of patients and reduce mortality and a major burden on the public health system caused by heart failure. This study aims to improve the accuracy of heart failure prediction using Support Vector Machine (SVM). SVM is used as a strong classifier for high-dimensional data, then optimizes its kernel using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), which has not been widely applied in similar studies. The method used includes computational experiments with a quantitative approach based on heart failure datasets from the UCI Repository which are analyzed using SVM with three types of kernels: Dot, Radial, and Polynomial. PSO is used to optimize the selection of kernel parameters in SVM to improve classification accuracy. The results show that SVM + PSO kernel Dot gives the best performance, with an AUC of 0.865 and an accuracy of 83.97%, and this difference is confirmed significant through a paired t-test (p <0.05) compared to SVM without optimization. PSO optimization consistently improves precision and recall in the tested kernels, indicating stability and effectiveness in classification. The impact of the research is to make a significant contribution to early detection efforts for heart failure which can lead to faster treatment and improved quality of life for patients, but also adds clinical value for medical practitioners seeking efficient and accurate classification methods.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create an Android-based Augmented Reality (AR) application that can be used as an interactive learning media that will teach endemic flora and fauna of Indonesia at the junior high school level. This application is built with Unity and Vuforia, utilizing twenty 3D models that can be accessed through a marker-based tracker, and equipped with quiz and audio story features. Development involved compatibility testing on various Android devices with 13 students and instructors at SMP Negeri 5 Tanggetada. The results showed optimal functionality based on black box testing and a user satisfaction level of 91.53% from UAT. This application increases student engagement through interactive 3D visualizations that are tailored to user feedback.

Abstract

The Ministry of Religious Affairs' Quran application is designed to facilitate Muslims in reading and studying the Quran. This study aims to evaluate user sentiment towards the application based on reviews given on the Google Play Store. Although the application has a rating of 4.6 and more than 500 thousand downloads, there are still various complaints regarding bugs and performance. The method used in this study is Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the classification algorithm and Radial Basis Function (RBF) as the kernel. A total of 3,000 reviews were collected through web scraping techniques, then filtered by removing 3-star reviews considered ambiguous. After preprocessing, 2,677 reviews were obtained, which were then balanced using the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE). The data were labeled into two categories: positive and negative sentiment. The results showed that the classification accuracy before the implementation of SMOTE was 91% and increased to 97% after SMOTE was implemented. The results of this study provide a clear picture that although the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Quran application received a high rating, users still highlighted bugs, performance, and stability. With this sentiment mapping, developers can prioritize feature improvements and service quality enhancements to improve user experience and increase satisfaction.
