Agriculture plays a crucial role in meeting food needs and improving the well-being of communities. However, challenges to the sustainability and productivity of agriculture are on the rise. Dependency on chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides has had negative environmental impacts. Eco enzymes, as an innovative organic fertilizer, offer a sustainable solution. Eco enzymes enhance soil productivity and quality while reducing reliance on synthetic chemicals. This project was conducted in Nagari Lasi, Canduang District, Agam Regency, from October 2022 to May 2023. The method involved the participation of farmers and the local community in every stage of the project to facilitate knowledge transfer and broader adoption of the innovation. The results of this project introduced the innovation to farmers and the community through various demonstration activities. The aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of sustainable agriculture revitalization through eco enzymes. Eco enzymes for agriculture can improve nutrient absorption efficiency by plants, reduce environmental pollution potential, and enhance soil quality. A significant increase in rice production was observed when comparing production with and without eco enzymes. The conclusion drawn from this project is that eco enzymes are an innovative organic fertilizer that enhances agricultural productivity, soil quality, and reduces reliance on synthetic chemicals sustainably. Recommendations for future work include evaluating eco enzyme compositions, studying fermentation environmental impacts, assessing soil quality impacts, production efficiency, conducting economic studies, and fostering institutional collaboration.

As people's consumption levels increase, the plastic waste produced increases, so that plastic waste becomes the first environmental problem in Indonesia, especially in Kelurahan Kampung Jua Nan XX, Kecamatan Lubuk Begalung, Padang City. Plastic waste takes a long time to disintegrate and can decompose into microplastics which can be spread into soil and water. The presence of microplastics in soil and water can contaminate plants, shellfish, fish and even salt which ultimately accumulates in the human body through the food chain cycle. Therefore, a solution is needed so that the presence of plastic waste can be handled properly and carried out optimal management. One solution to utilizing plastic waste is by making ecobrick products that are useful and have high selling value and can be a livelihood opportunity. The aim of this activity is to increase public awareness and concern for the environment in order to create a clean and healthy environment through the management and processing of plastic waste. This activity was carried out in kelurahan Kampung Jua on 27 October and 9 December 2022, with the participants in this activity being PKK women from Kampung Jua Nan XX Village. The methods used were education regarding the threat of plastic and microplastic waste and training through demonstrations on making chairs from ecobricks. The results of this activity can increase public awareness of the dangers of plastic waste, limit the use of plastic bags and manage plastic waste at the source as an effort to reduce plastic waste generation and empower the community to maximizing the economic value of existing waste in a sustainable manner.

Padang Cakur Village, South Pariaman Subdistrict, Pariaman City, holds potential for the development of cattle farming. However, local cattle farmers are facing challenges in meeting the feed requirements due to shrinking green pasturelands. To address this issue, alternative feed sources from agricultural waste are needed. The problem lies in the fact that farmers lack the knowledge and skills to process agricultural waste into cattle feed. This technology transfer activity aims to: 1) Enhance the knowledge and skills of cattle farmers in utilizing agricultural waste, such as rice straw fermentation with the addition of sago (Silage), as cattle feed, and 2) Improve cattle farmers' understanding of the process of fermenting banana stems with the addition of rice bran. The methods employed in this technology transfer activity include extension through lectures and training sessions. Lecture-based methods are used to deliver information regarding both feed technologies, while training sessions are conducted to demonstrate the procedures for producing rice straw silage with sago and fermenting banana stems with rice bran. The outcomes of this technology transfer activity have increased the knowledge and skills of cattle farmers, particularly in feed production technologies like rice straw silage with sago (Silage) and fermented banana stem feed with rice bran. As evidence of success, participating cattle farmers have collectively produced 50 kilograms of Silage and 30 kilograms of fermented banana stem feed.

The Social Economics Department of the Faculty of Agriculture initiated an academic partnership with KKI Warsi in implementing MBKM learning, research and community service. The purpose of this collaboration is in an effort to improve the quality of learning at the University and as a bridge for the transfer of knowledge from the university to the whole community as a form of the tri dharma of higher education. This community service activity was carried out at the KUPS Payung Sirukam social forestry group located in Nagari Sirukam, Payung Sekaki District, Solok Regency which was fostered by KKI Warsi. This service was carried out because the Robusta coffee plant in Nagari Sirukam is a plant that is still a legacy from the Dutch colonial period, where the cultivation process was not carried out intensively by farmers. This cultivation problem affects the quality of coffee. Thus, it is necessary to conduct counseling on Robusta coffee cultivation to farmers who are members of KUPS Payung Sirukam. From this counseling, farmers gain knowledge about good quality coffee beans, the maintenance process through good coffee cultivation patterns, and how to vegetatively rejuvenate coffee seedlings. Rejuvenation of coffee plants is one of the efforts that can be made in order to produce coffee plants that are the same as the main plants to maintain the quality of the sirukam coffee and shorten the harvesting life of the plants.

Water quality is an object that must be considered in accordance with health standards from the Ministry of Health because water quality is a crucial aspect in maintaining health. However, the availability of clean water is often limited, especially in areas with limited access to clean water. The purpose of this community service is to overcome the problem of clean water by using used bottles, sponges, dacron foam, and gravel to create simple water filters. The activities carried out were in the form of outreach about simple filter tools then demonstrations of the use of the tools and distribution of simple filter tools to the residents of Tegalan, Langkap, Jember Regency. The methods used for this simple water filter making activity include socialization, discussion and practice. These three steps were carried out to get maximum results, namely water that became clear after being filtered using a simple water filter. The results of the demonstration using this simple filter tool proved that the water which was originally murky became clear and odorless. This research highlights that simple water filters have potential as a practical solution to improve drinking water quality in resource-constrained areas. The use of this simple water filter can be an initial step that has a positive impact on overcoming difficulties in accessing clean water. It can be concluded that this program brings benefits to all residents of Tegalan, Langkap Village whose water is still murky and dirty because with this simple water filter tool, these people are helped in improving the quality of the water they use on a daily basis.
