Abstract

The phenomenon of congestion in urban areas has been inreasing rapidly over time. This is due to the growth in the number of vehicles not being matched by the growth in road capacity. Increasing road capacity can sometimes be a hindrance, causing other problems for commmunities livign nearby. Therefore, following the lead of other metropolitan cities to minimize congestion, Medan City launched a mass transportation system in 2024 aimed at reducing the use of private vehicles as the primary mode of travel for the public, called the Medan Electic Bus. For this reason, a study is needed to determine the level of congestion assessed based on the Degree of Saturation value of intersections and roundabouts in urban areas so that it can be known whether the presence of Electric Buses has been able to replace private vehicles as the main mode of transportation. The results of the analysis show that the Degree of Saturation value at several intersections is > 0,85; meaning that congestion conditions are still found both during morning and evening peak hours. This is also indicated by the value of the Electric Bus load factor obtained < 70%, meaning that the presence of Electric Buses is less desirable to replace private vehicles as the main mode of transportation. So it can be concluded that even though mass transportation has been provided, congestion conditions are still found at certain points in the urban area of Medan City.

Abstract

The weir is a vital infrastructure supporting irrigation sustainability by serving as the primary structure for water diversion. Its performance depends heavily on river morphology and channel alignment stability. Morphological changes caused by erosion and sedimentation can alter the river’s course, reducing water diversion effectiveness and decreasing the weir’s capacity to supply irrigation networks. A common phenomenon is the formation of a shortcut channel at river bends, diverting flow away from the weir. This study analyzes channel changes at a bend that reduced weir function and designs a flow control structure to restore the original flow. Conducted at the Kali Gede River in Madiun Regency, where an upstream shortcut diverted the flow, the study employed hydrological analysis to determine design flood discharge using synthetic unit hydrograph methods. Hydraulic analysis via HEC-RAS was performed to obtain flood water elevations. A retaining wall was designed as a flow control structure and evaluated using Geo5 software for stability against overturning, sliding, bearing capacity, and slope stability. HEC-RAS results show that while flood levels remain within sectional capacity, flow tends to bypass through the shortcut. The proposed retaining wall design satisfies all required safety factors for overturning, sliding, and bearing capacity. Thus, constructing a retaining wall to close the shortcut is an effective solution to maintain river morphology and support optimal irrigation weir function.

Abstract

Kabupaten Lumajang memiliki iklim tropis lembap yang ditandai dengan kelembapan dan curah hujan tinggi. Hal ini berpotensi menyebabkan kondisi dalam ruangan yang lembap dan tidak sehat di ruang hunian. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ukuran pencahayaan alami pada rumah tinggal dua lantai mendukung kinerja ventilasi alami, sehingga meningkatkan kesehatan dan kenyamanan termal penghuninya. Evaluasi ini dilakukan sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip pengukuran alami yang tercantum dalam SNI 03-6572-2001. Metode deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan, dengan arsitektur sebagai subjek penelitian. Analisis dilakukan dengan menghitung rasio luas ventilasi efektif terhadap luas lantai setiap ruangan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rasio ventilasi rata-rata untuk subjek penelitian adalah 6%. Meskipun sebagian besar ruangan utama memenuhi ambang batas ventilasi minimum 5%, beberapa ruangan layanan dan area transisi tidak memenuhinya. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan zona udara stagnan (zona udara mati), yang dapat meningkatkan kelembapan di dalam ruangan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan optimasi berupa modifikasi untuk mendukung ventilasi silang dan meningkatkan efektivitas sirkulasi udara.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan limbah industri sebagai bahan pengganti dalam konstruksi jalan merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh substitusi limbah genteng tanah liat sebagai pengisi pada karakteristik campuran Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC) dan untuk menentukan kadar optimum yang memenuhi Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2018 Revisi 2. Metode yang diterapkan adalah pendekatan eksperimental laboratorium dengan variasi kadar pengisi 0%, 4%, dan 6% berat agregat. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan metode Marshall untuk memperoleh parameter termasuk stabilitas, aliran, Void in Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), Void Filled with Bitumen (VFB), dan Marshall Quotient (MQ). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan limbah genteng tanah liat mempengaruhi karakteristik campuran AC-WC. Pada Kadar Aspal Optimum (OAC) sebesar 5,40%, untuk variasi pengisi 4%, diperoleh nilai stabilitas sebesar 1408,6 kg, aliran sebesar 2,71 mm, Void in Mix (VIM) sebesar 4,58%, Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA) sebesar 16,49%, Void Filled with Bitumen (VFB) sebesar 74,61%, dan Marshall Quotient (MQ) sebesar 540,3 kg/mm. Sementara itu, untuk variasi pengisi 6%, nilai stabilitas sebesar 1564,1 kg tercapai, aliran 3,3 mm, Void in Mix (VIM) sebesar 3,43%, Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA) sebesar 17,01%, Void Filled with Bitumen (VFB) sebesar 79,87%, dan Marshall Quotient (MQ) sebesar 490,78 kg/mm, oleh karena itu variasi pengisi 6% memberikan kinerja terbaik dan memenuhi spesifikasi yang berlaku. Abstract

The use of agricultural waste as a construction material is a strategic approach to strengthen the concept of sustainable construction. Rice husk ash is a potential product through the process of burning rice husks. This material can be an alternative as a filler in the AC-WC mixture layer. This study aims to optimize the use of rice husk ash as an environmentally friendly filler. This study uses a quantitative approach based on laboratory results starting from testing material gradation, mud content, SPGR, and GMM. Then Marshall briquettes were made with various filler levels, then Marshall tests were carried out to determine the stability, flow, density, VIM, VMA, and VFB values. The results showed that the characteristics of the mixture were influenced by the addition of rice husk ash. The stability value at 2% content was obtained at 1271.4 kg, with a flow value of 2.96 mm and a density of 2.267 gr/cm³. The VIM, VMA, and VFB values of 3.85%, 18.26%, and 78.95%, respectively, still meet the required specifications. The use of 2% not only produces optimal mixture performance but also provides a more valuable and sustainable use of agricultural waste. Abstract

Rigid pavement work on toll road projects requires high equipment productivity so that targets for volume, quality, and execution time can be achieved optimally. One piece of equipment widely used in rigid pavement work is the Wirtgen SP 64 slipform paver because it is capable of carrying out the concrete paving process continuously, precisely, and efficiently. This study aims to analyze the actual productivity and work efficiency of the Wirtgen SP 64 slipform paver on the Jakarta–Cikampek II Selatan Toll Road Project Package 2B, Sukaragam–Bojongmangu Section. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method with a direct field observation approach. The primary data collected include working time, concrete unloading time, concrete volume, number of dump truck trips, and work duration for each STA segment. The results show that the actual productivity of the equipment ranges from 33.30 m³/hour to 37.24 m³/hour, with an average of 35.60 m³/hour. The highest productivity occurred at STA 29+250–29+550 L2 at 37.24 m³/hour, while the lowest productivity occurred at STA 29+405–29+650 L1 at 33.30 m³/hour. Efficiency based on work volume ranged from 79% to 99%, while efficiency relative to the batching plant capacity of 90 m³/hour ranged from 37% to 41.37%. Overall, the Wirtgen SP 64 slipform paver showed fairly stable, effective, and consistent performance in supporting rigid pavement work. Abstract

The selection of contract types for port construction projects is a strategic decision that affects the success of project implementation, particularly in managing risks, costs, and technical complexities. This study aims to analyze the performance of Design and Build contracts in port projects and determine the most suitable contract type using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with case studies on three port projects, namely the Ex. Semen Tonasa Port Branch Banjarmasin Stacking Field Paving Project, the Batang Multipurpose Terminal Phase I Development, and the Design and Build Revetment and Retaining Wall Dumping 1 Benoa Port. Project performance analysis was conducted based on time deviation and profit percentage against the contract BOQ. Furthermore, the best contract type was determined using the AHP method through the preparation of a decision hierarchy, pairwise comparisons between criteria and alternatives, priority weight calculations, and consistency ratio testing. The results of the study show that all projects experienced time extensions of between 25% and 56%, but still generated positive profits with margins of between 8.69% and 22.79%. AHP analysis with four main criteria of risk level, cost, scale of work, and source of financing shows that the risk level has the highest weight of 0.518 (51.8%). The global priority calculation resulted in the Design and Build contract as the most suitable alternative with a weight of 0.49 (49%), followed by the conventional contract (0.27) and Lump Sum (0.24). This study concludes that for port projects with high complexity and risk, the Design and Build contract is the most effective option because it integrates design and construction into one coordinated responsibility.

Abstract

Akurasi estimasi debit aliran merupakan parameter krusial dalam manajemen sumber daya air dan sistem peringatan dini banjir di Sungai Welang, Jawa Timur. Namun, perbedaan karakteristik morfologi dari hulu hingga hilir menciptakan tantangan berupa variabilitas spasial dalam pengembangan liku kalibrasi (rating curve). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan tinggi muka air dan debit (stage-discharge) di tiga segmen Sungai Welang, yaitu segmen hulu (Purwodadi), tengah (Selowongko), dan hilir (Dhompo). Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan dua model regresi, yaitu regresi berpangkat (power) dan regresi polinomial, menggunakan data pengukuran debit langsung tahun 2022-2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya variabilitas spasial yang signifikan, di mana nilai eksponen pada regresi berpangkat meningkat seiring pergerakan lokasi ke arah hilir (0,0752 di hulu hingga 0,2202 di hilir), merepresentasikan sensitivitas penampang yang semakin lebar dan landai. Meskipun model polinomial memberikan nilai koefisien determinasi ?(R?^2) yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan model berpangkat, model tersebut ditemukan kurang representatif secara fisik karena menghasilkan koefisien kuadratik negatif pada segmen tengah yang kontradiktif dengan hukum kontinuitas aliran. Oleh karena itu, model regresi berpangkat direkomendasikan sebagai model yang lebih andal untuk estimasi debit kontinu di Sungai Welang karena konsistensinya terhadap prinsip hidraulika.

Abstract

Pantai Taman in Ngadirojo District, Pacitan Regency, possesses significant potential as a sustainable coastal tourism destination with unique geological characteristics in the form of karst cliffs, abrasion platforms, and sea turtle conservation areas. However, this potential has not been optimally managed, as indicated by fluctuating tourist visits and limited supporting facilities. This study aims to formulate a sustainable tourism development concept based on physical, environmental, social, and economic aspects. The research employs a qualitative-descriptive method with spatial and collaborative governance approaches. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with stakeholders, and document studies. The findings reveal that tourism development faces fundamental challenges, including the absence of a comprehensive masterplan, weak zoning implementation, minimal environmental management (waste and wastewater), and non-optimal community involvement. The study recommends an integrated development concept with four main strategies: (1) ecologically-based zoning with strict protection of conservation areas and sea turtle habitats; (2) environmentally friendly infrastructure development supporting waste management and clean water availability; (3) a collaborative governance model involving government, BUMDes, Pokdarwis, and local communities; (4) community economic empowerment through UMKM development and sustainable tourism packages. The implementation of this concept is expected to increase tourist visits by 15-20% per year while maintaining the environmental carrying capacity of the coastal ecosystem

Abstract

Public transportation plays a vital role in supporting mobility between Surakarta and Wonogiri, with Transjateng Bus and Batara Kresna Train as the main modes of transportation, which differ in terms of cost, travel time, and frequency of departure. This study analyses the factors influencing mode choice and compares revealed preferences and stated preferences through a survey of 126 respondents and a binomial logit model with variables including travel cost, travel time, and departure frequency. The results indicate that departure frequency is the most significant factor, particularly for the Batara Kresna Train. The stated preference scenario was designed with 12 attribute combinations using an orthogonal design, enabling simulation of service changes. The results indicate that departure frequency is the most significant variable influencing mode choice, particularly for trains. Under actual conditions (revealed preference), the Transjateng Bus is more dominant with a probability of 51.06%, while the Batara Kresna Train is only 48.94%. However, in the scenario of improved services for the Batara Kresna Train (stated preference), the probability of selection increases substaintially to 78.82%, highlighting the significant potential for improving train services to attract users. These findings can serve as an important reference for the Central Java Provincial Transportation Department and public transport operators in formulating transportation policies.
