Abstract

In the context of understanding the religion and culture of the Sasak community, there are no provisions that clearly regulate the age of marriage. So cases of child marriage become difficult to stop. Despite the presence of the Child Marriage Law as a very important legal instrument in protecting children's rights and preventing child marriage. This research is field research using qualitative methods through a phenomenological approach. This approach is used in an effort to describe field facts based on the phenomenologist's experience without intervention from the researcher. So this method does not focus on statistical measurements or calculations, but rather emphasizes a deep understanding of the characteristics and context of the phenomena studied using qualitative data. The results of the research show that: In the view of religious communities there are no clear provisions regarding the age requirements for marriage. However, the measurements used to determine whether it is permissible or not still give rise to various interpretations. Meanwhile, in the cultural context of the Sasak community, the existence of Merariq culture is the main support that there are also no provisions regarding the age that is considered valid for carrying out this tradition. It only refers to the readiness and agreement of both parties, even in some cases Merariq is also carried out even without the woman's consent. So laws regarding marriage age are often violated because society is still guided by religious understanding and cultural practices.

Abstract

Merariq is one of the traditions of the Sasak people of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara which is still maintainMerariq is one of the traditions of the Sasak people of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara which is still maintained to this day. The uniqueness of this tradition has a function that can be described in manifest and latent forms. So, the aim of mapping this function is so that there is no ambiguity in the merariq process because merariq could be the legality of the bride and groom's relationship if it is not approved by one of the family members. This research uses a qualitative method with a library approach, with data sources from books and articles that have been prepared and adapted to the object of the research study. The results of this research show that not everything in the merariq process is an actual or manifest function, but there are also latent functions contained, for example in the form of Education, Social Stratification, and Conflicted to this day. Abstract

This paper tries to analyse the presence of the Community of Dawn Fighters in rural regions, especially in its existence, which is recognised and strongly explores activities and programmers as da'wah activities and the performance of religious theory in rural public spaces. This article will also express the effort and initial exploration of the youth da'wah movement to form a pious and better self. In addition, this article will express the progressivity of young people to be closer to the mosque or mosque, pray at dawn in congregation at the mosque, regularly recite recitations, be persistent in seeking religious knowledge, and preach through the Community of Dawn Fighters. This study also expresses the articulation of the Islamic identity of young people in rural public spaces. Through cognitive observations of participants in the Community of Dawn Keritang Fighters and online interviews (netrography), as well as previous literature sources, this article shows that the form of existence carried out by young people began with: first, these young people carried out early explorations of the socialisation movement and travelled around dawn. Second, young people carry out da'wah activities as a means of existence. Third, these young people publish through attributes and fashion as encouragement in their da'wah. Apart from the progress of existence carried out by young people, what is the strength of this entire movement is the support from various groups and parties, such as the community, ulama, and the local government.

Abstract

The internet as a new media has changed the practice of Public Relations by utilizing new media communication technology which has become known as Cyber Public Relations. Cyber Public Relations practices at a public university in Malang utilize new media Instagram, and website as official communication channels. This research aims to identify the effectiveness of using new media as a two-way communication medium with the framework of Dialogic Communication theory. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research with quantitative content analysis data collection techniques on Instagram features and uploads and the university’s website from 1 June - 31 August 2023. The results of the research indicate that the application of Dialogic Communication principles in managing content and features on the website is effective, with effectiveness of 66.8%. Meanwhile, the application of Dialogic Communication principles in content management on Instagram is less effective, with an effectiveness of 48%. Researchers suggest that to achieve two-way communication between universities and the public, as well as effective implementation of the Dialogic Loop principle, the Public Relations Division of the university needs to manage content that can facilitate direct dialogue between the institution and the public, for example via the comment column, or conversation space on Instagram or the website.

Abstract

This research examines Gus Dur's role as an agent of national unity and integrity in the multicultural context of Indonesia. The research method used is content analysis of Gus Dur's policies and handwriting. The results of the research show that Gus Dur played an important role in promoting social harmony through his deep understanding of minority rights and diversity. He encouraged the protection of minority rights, promotion of interfaith dialogue, and recognition of local cultures as an integral part of Indonesia. The conclusion of this research is that Gus Dur's contribution in  strengthening national unity through an inclusive approach to diversity is very important. Recommendations to relevant agencies are to increase understanding of minority rights, support inter-religious dialogue, and involve religious leaders in efforts to build social harmony. Implementing these recommendations will help strengthen national unity and integrity, as well as maintain Indonesia as a country based on diversity and tolerance.

Abstract

The traditional clothing of the Sasak tribe is clothing that the people of Lombok usually wear at various events such as weddings, traditional ceremonies, or welcoming guests. Men's traditional clothing is called pegon, while women's traditional clothing is called lambung. When wearing traditional Sasak clothing, there are also several accessories such as keris, slewoq, dodot, and sapuq for men and pangkak, tongkak, and bendang/slewoq for women. The traditional clothing used by the Sasak tribe in daily life cannot be separated from religion, especially Islam which is the religion of the majority of the people of the island of Lombok. The aim of this research is to find out what Islamic meanings are contained in the traditional clothing of the Sasak tribe. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research conducted in the Central Lombok area, specifically in Bebuak Village, Kopang District. The data collection techniques used in this research were direct observation and interviews. The research results show that there are many Islamic meanings contained in the traditional clothing of the Sasak-Lombok tribe, such as monotheism, purity, gentleness, tranquility, and so on. Thus, the traditional clothing of the Sasak-Lombok tribe not only has an aesthetic function but also has a religious function.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss framing analyses of sexual violence in NU and Suara Muhammadiyah online media. This research uses a qualitative research method with Robert Etnman's framing analysis approach. Robert Etnman's framing analysis method is used to see how a media constructs reality and to see that news is understood and framed before being presented to the public with four elements, namely: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments, and make treatment recommendations. Based on the results of the analysis using four elements of framing by Robert Etnman, the framing carried out by online media NU and Suara Muhammadiyah regarding reporting on sexual violence explains the causes, effects, triggers, and handling of sexual violence. The online media NU and Suara Muhammadiyah framed the news by looking for informants who could provide a number of facts and testimonies regarding sexual violence. NU online news framing emphasizes that sexual violence is an evil intention that is contrary to religion, morals, and education, which must be opposed and prevented. Suara Muhammadiyah's news framing emphasizes Islamic teachings that sexual violence has harmed Islamic educational institutions, which prioritize compassion.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information related to the urgency and variety of activities associated with the implementation of peace education for the young interfaith peace community of Malang. This research is mixed-methods research, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The subject of this study is a Muslim facilitator and participant in SIPC 2019. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation, and the data analysis used is explanatory sequential, then explained descriptively. The result of this research explains that peace education implementation for the YIPC of Malang is urgent for human relations reasons, and the peace goal includes the vulnerability of youth and interfaith potential. Young interfaith communities offer fertile ground for fostering tolerance, understanding, and collaborative problem-solving. Peace education for YIPC of Malang is implemented through several activities, including SIPC (Student Interfaith Peace Camp), regular meetings, and WIHW (World Interfaith Harmony Week).

Abstract

Islamic studies covers a variety of different meanings, divisions and aspects. However, the main focus of this study is on Islamic teachings which originate from the Koran and Hadith authentically. Therefore, it is necessary to use the right approach in understanding Islam. In this research, the author used two approach methods. Namely Normative and Anthropological. In the Big Indonesian Dictionary, tradition is a tradition or custom passed down from generation to generation that was passed down by ancestors and is still preserved by the community. One of the community traditions that is still highly preserved is the ceremony to welcome the birth of a child or often called akikah. One of the Islamic traditions carried out to welcome the birth of a child is Barzanji. This tradition originates from Arab countries and is generally spread through trade and marriage. The aim of the Barzanji tradition is to bring closer relations with Allah, increase faith and love for the Messenger of Allah, as a symbol of the Islamic religion and remind the history of the life of the Prophet SAW so that he becomes a role model, strengthen Islamic brotherhood among the community and maintain Islamic culture in the face of non-Islamic culture. who enter society.

Abstract

The controversy and rejection surrounding the construction of the Muhammadiyah mosque in Bireuen have marked a new chapter in the history of Muhammadiyah in Aceh. Some studies suggest that this is a conflict between Muhammadiyah and traditional Islamic communities. This article presents a different argument, asserting that Muhammadiyah in Aceh has become an organization inadvertently drawn into a religious contestation between two religious communities: the Wahhabi and the Ahlu Sunnah wa Jamaah (Aswaja) groups. Muhammadiyah does not actually have a direct conflict with traditional Islam or the dayah community in Aceh, but it finds itself in a precarious situation when conflicts arise between these two groups. Muhammadiyah becomes entangled with one of these groups due to shared aspects in religious doctrine. The contestation between these two major currents is not only about the domination of doctrines and religious authority but also extends into the competition for access to economic and socio-cultural resources. This situation parallels and echoes the early history of Muhammadiyah in Aceh, where it was inadvertently involved in conflicts between uleebalang/teuku (local rulers) and ulama/teungku (traditional scholars). During that time, Muhammadiyah, allied with uleebalang, found itself confronting ulama.
