Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia has become a health problem in developing countries such as Europe, America and Southeast Asia. Hypercholesterolemia can be reduced with non-pharmacological therapy, one of which is by consuming a decoction of the Ciplukan Plant (Physalis Angulata L). The Ciplukan plant (Physalis angulata L) contains many secondary metabolite compounds, namely flavonoids and phenolics such as physalin, physagulin, beta-carotene, myricetin, oleanolic acid and quercetin which have very good effectiveness in reducing plasma lipid levels in sufferers of hypercholesterolemia. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of a decoction of the Ciplukan plant (Physalis Angulata L) as an antihypercholesterolemia in Rundeng Village, Johan Pahlawan District, West Aceh Regency. The design used was "Quasi experimental pre test and post test one group". Simple in this research were all hypercholesterol sufferers in Rundeng village, totaling 40 people, using the Willcoxon test. Drink a decoction of the Ciplukan Plant (Physalis Angulata L) three times a week for 1 month. The results of the research show that there is effectiveness of a decoction of the Ciplukan Plant (Physalis Angulata L) as antihypercholesterolemia in Rundeng Village, Johan Pahlawan District, West Aceh Regency with a P-Value of 0.000 > ? 0.05. A decoction of the Ciplukan Plant (Physalis Angulata L) as an anti-hypercholesterolemia can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce cholesterol levels.

Abstract

Program to Strengthen Midwives in Traditional Healthcare Services (Yankestrad) is an initiative aimed at enhancing the competence and capacity of midwives in providing traditional healthcare services. The program encompasses several key phases, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the initial phase, 30 midwives underwent a refresher training program to ensure they were well-prepared for the subsequent comprehensive training. The program aimed to provide them with a deep understanding of traditional healthcare practices. The results of this community service program (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) clearly indicate that the "Strengthening Midwives in Traditional Healthcare Services Program (Yankestrad)" in the Ingin Jaya Public Health Center (Puskesmas) area of Aceh Besar District has achieved significant milestones. Continuous evaluation conducted both during and after the training has shown remarkable improvements in the participants' abilities to deliver traditional healthcare services. The program has led to enhanced skills in communication and counseling among the midwives, which is crucial in providing effective healthcare services. Additionally, it successfully integrated information technology to augment knowledge, making use of online resources for up-to-date information. The program also delved into deepening the participants' understanding of the local cultural values that underlie traditional healthcare practices. These positive impacts have created substantial changes in the realm of traditional healthcare services and significantly improved the relationships between healthcare providers and patients. The commitment to continuous improvement ensures that this program serves as a solid foundation for further developments in advancing traditional healthcare services.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between handwashing behavior, often referred to as Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun (CTPS), and the prevention of COVID-19 among elementary school students in Banda Aceh City. The research conducted a descriptive-analytic study using a cross-sectional approach. Data was collected from elementary school students in SD Negeri 59 Banda Aceh, with a total sample size of 62 students. The analysis of the data involved both univariate and bivariate analyses. The findings revealed a significant relationship between students' knowledge about COVID-19 and their handwashing behavior, with a p-value of 0.001. Additionally, the role of teachers was found to be significantly associated with students' handwashing behavior, with a p-value of 0.020. However, the study did not establish a significant relationship between media involvement and handwashing behavior, as indicated by a p-value of 0.071. These results align with previous research and highlight the crucial role of knowledge and teachers in influencing proper handwashing behavior among students. In the context of COVID-19 prevention, the study underscores the importance of education, both from teachers and through media, to raise awareness and promote the practice of handwashing with soap (CTPS) as an integral part of preventive measures. Further research is needed to explore additional factors that may impact students' handwashing behavior and to gain a deeper understanding of the potential role of media in shaping this behavior.

Abstract

Birth weight is one measure of the success of health programs, related to the risk of disease and child survival. The weight gain of pregnant women will affect the weight gain of the fetus. ANC is very important for detecting infant abnormalities during the neonatal period. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of maternal weight gain during pregnancy and quality pregnancy examinations on birth weight in Jombok Village, Pule District, Trenggalek Regency. This research design uses a survey method with a cross sectional approach, the research sample is 30 respondents, using accidental sampling techniques and measuring instruments in the form of questionnaires. The independent variables are Weight Gain for Pregnant Women, and Quality Pregnancy Examination, the dependent variable is Birth Weight. Data analysis used Multiple Linear Regression Test with a significant value (p ? 0.05). The results of the research show that there is an influence of weight gain in pregnant women and quality pregnancy examinations on birth weight with a significance value (p) of 0.001b (p < 0.05), so it is stated that H1 is accepted. Quality pregnancy checks (at least 6 times) will increase the mother's knowledge about her pregnancy and detect all risks to pregnancy and danger signs. Health workers need an active role in quality pregnancy checks and monitoring pregnant women's weight gain to achieve normal birth weight.
