Abstract

As Covid-19 cases increase and transmission accelerates, it is more likely that new more contagious variants emerge, may spread more easily. Chest X-Rays examination performed during the Covid-19 pandemic is highly suggestive for severe infection and could be used to determine the diagnosis. The chest X-ray image of unvaccinated Covid-19 patients, at the initial onset appeared normal and could find infiltrates paracardial bilaterally. While chest X-ray image of 5-6 months vaccinated Covid-19 patients, in the first days paracardial and bilateral infiltrates were found as well as bilateral parahillar ground-glass opacity, but in late onset, the infiltrates and ground glass opacity became more widespread and bilateral consolidation was also found.

Abstract

Health is a basic human need as described in Law No. 36 of 2009, which is considered physically, mentally, and socially that enables everyone to live productively. One indicator that reflects health in the community is the health behavior carried out by individuals in the community itself. Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) is an approach model that can be used to predict a person's healthy behavior. This research is a literature study that aims to explain the theory and various forms of PMT applications. The PMT consists of a threat appraisal that is individualized based on disease susceptibility and perceived severity. The way an individual chooses to respond to a threatening situation is based on two beliefs, namely 1) implementing a behavior that will resolve the threat (response efficacy) and 2) the individual's belief about his or her ability to perform the behavior effectively (self-efficacy). Fear will elicit an adaptive response (intention to perform a behavior) or a maladaptive response (avoidance or rejection). The PMT framework is used to explain healthy human behavior where it is fear that is used to control or change a person's behavior. PMT applications can be used not only in the health sector but also in other fields. PMT application is not only used to identify behavior but also for maladaptive behavior intervention.

Abstract

This research aims to isolate bacteria from the rhizosphere soil which are known to be good media for the growth of bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Straphlococus aureus as new types of antibiotics. The method used by isolated the bacteria from rhizosphere soil of Rimpang Pacing and Guava rhizome plants and then do the cell morphology characterization, purification, propagation of antibiotic-producing bactrial isolates and continued testing the antibiotic activity of potential bacterial isolates. From the observations, it was found that the isolation of bacteria from the rhizosphere soil of the pacing rhizome had antibiotic compounds that were able to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli and Straphlococcus aureus bacteria as indicated by the formation of a clear zone around the colony, which had an inhibitory index of 0.5 mm in Ec.2 and Bp.1 isolates is also 0.5 mm. From Both Ec.2 and Bp.1 isolates concluded that the rhizosphere soil produces an inhibitory zone that has the potential to be used as an antibiotic agent

Abstract

The COVID-19 cases in Palembang are still increasing every day. This pandemic has forced the adaptation of the "New Normal" lifestyle, which will have an impact on communicable and non-communicable diseases. The Sinovac vaccine used in the COVID-19 vaccination program for Health Care Workers (HCW), which is a top priority, is still a new vaccine, so a survey of complaints and the determinant is important. This study aimed to survey complaints and the determinant of Post COVID-19 Vaccination (Sinovac) Adverse Events among HCW. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Palembang between June and August 2021 on 414 HCWs who received the COVID-19 vaccine injection. The instrument consisted of demographic characteristics, marital status, distance to health care facilities, Body Mass Index (BMI), diet, sleep quality, anxiety, and some medical histories. Overall, although many, all complaints were classified as mild. There was a significant relationship between age, anxiety, and history of food allergy with Post COVID-19 Vaccination Adverse Events (p-value = 0.003; 0.017; 0.050), and anxiety was the determinant of the adverse events (p-value < 0.05). However, there was a significant relationship between age, anxiety, and history of food allergy with Post COVID-19 Vaccination Adverse Events indicates that these factors need to be considered in determining the standard operational procedure for the next vaccination. While there was no significant relationship between obesity, diet, sleep quality, history of drug allergy, atopic disease, hypertension, and dyspepsia syndrome are expected to increase public knowledge and confidence so there will be no worries about receiving the vaccine.

Abstract

Background: In dealing with infertility problems, a deep understanding of the specific causes becomes very important for proper treatment. One of the diagnostic methods often used to assess infertility conditions is hysterosalpingography (HSG). The superiority of HSG lies in its ability to provide clear visual information about the structural condition of the uterus and fallopian tubes, which are key factors in fertilization. Methods: This qualitative descriptive research uses a case study approach conducted at Sriwijaya Siloam Hospital in Palembang to compare the results of HSG examination in primary infertility clinics. Results: In this study, the results of HSG examinations in two patients with clinical primary infertility showed that there was a difference in the picture. The results of the HSG examination in first patient showed both non-patent tubes, where distal occlusion of the right fallopian tube and left peritubal adhesion were found, while in second patient it showed both patent tubes with a positive spill sign. Conclusions: Differences in the results of HSG examinations in primary infertility clinics show the conclusion that even though HSG shows a patent fallopian tube, the couple may still experience primary infertility. This shows that the cause of infertility can come from other factors and requires further evaluation.
