Abstract

The disparagement of Indonesian language in academic sphere frequently occurs. The writing’s culture which must be grammatically and culturally correct has begun to fade away and the emergences of a variety of social media were the causes of this disparagement. Consequently, it weakened the learners’ reasoning ability and language skills. This study, therefore, aimed at identifying the causes of this disparagement where the locus of the research was at SMK Global Cendikia Kecamatan Tambang, Kampar, Riau. This study used sequential mixed methods of describing the causes. The results showed that the cognitive aspects were the focus on the Indonesian language learning; the ability of media literacy of SMK students on functional consuming literacy has been classified high, critical consuming literacy is low, functional presuming literacy was still categorized low, critical presuming literacy was low, and the low level of social media literacy ability of Indonesian learning success has not been maximally reached. It is, therefore, necessary to solve these problems by implementing learning strategies to improve the ability of good, correct and polite language and productive literary skills as well as to improve the ability of social media literacy students.

Abstract

Problem solving ability is one of the mathematical abilities that are important in the success of students. But the fact remains low problem solving ability. One approach that can develop problem solving ability is constructivism approachment. The constructivism approach is one of the learning approaches which can trigger students to build their own knowledge and help students find their own mathematical principles or procedures. LKPD is one important component in learning. LKPD used by teachers not specifically describe the learning process, as well as yet to be seen developing students' problem solving abilities. This study aims to determine the validity of LKPD based on constructivism approach. This research is a development research by using Plomp model which consists of preliminary research, development stage and assessment phase. The results of data analysis show that the developed LKPD has been valid with the validity index of 0,848 so it can be used to increase problem solving student ability.

Abstract

Learning process is a fun activity where learners have the freedom to actualize themselves, develop the potential in accordance with the talent and develop it. It demands educators to be creative in creating teaching materials and media. Teaching materials that can be collaborated with the media is a worksheet student of science asissted by education card based on science edutainment. The purpose of this paper is to produce a worksheet student of science asissted by education card based on science edutainment that is valid, practical and effective. The development model used is a Plomp development model consisting of three stages of initial investigation, development and assessment phase. The validity test is at the development stage. Validity test is done through validation sheet. The result of validity test shows the a worksheet student of science asissted by education card based on science edutainment developed in valid category. Then product can be applied in learning and able to overcome all problems.

Abstract

One of mathematics learning purposes for students is having the capability or skill to solve a mathematics’ problem, as a means for students to sharpen accuracy, logical, critical, analitycal, and creative reasoning so that problem was not a problem anymore for students. For optimal learning process, it is necessary supported by relevant learning device. This is the basis for research in mathematics learning device development like lesson plan and students worksheet based on Guided Discovery Learning model where learners are also learning and thinking to solve their problems independently through the materials facilitated by teachers and teacher’s guidance. This was a development research which applied Plomp model. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded that guided discovery learning was valid.
