Abstract

In the fact, students in the school were seen that most of them have low learning spirit, students were less active, because lack of using instructional media that corresponded with students characteristics in the learning process. This study aimed to know about effectiveness of instructional media based on interactive CD learning that had developed. Effectiveness test was carried out by giving pretest and posttest instruments to the students. The instruments of effectiveness was using test, and the data was processed by Independent T-test formula. Instructional media based on interactive CD learning was said effective to improve students outcomes because 87,60% students had reached Minimum Mastery Criteria. Based on the result, can be concluded that instructional media based on interactive CD learning on Basic Network was effective to use as instructional media on Basic Network learning process.

Abstract

Field observations found that job satisfaction of employees in West Sumatera Provincial Education Office is still low. This is allegedly due to the influence of leadership ethics and cooperation climate, then conducted research to test the truth. This study aims to reveal the influence of leadership ethics and cooperation climate on employee job satisfaction in Education Office of West Sumatera Province. Hypothesis proposed in this research are: 1); there are influence of leadership ethics on cooperative climate, 2) there is influence of leadership ethics and cooperation climate to employee job satisfaction. Population in this research is all officer of Educational Department of West Sumatera Province with status of civil servant. The population is 300 people and the sample size is 73 people. Collecting data using Likert scale questionnaire that has validi and reabel. Data analysis using correlation and regression techniques. The result of data analysis shows that: 1) leadership ethics have an effect on cooperation climate equal to 63.50%, 2) leadership ethics influence to job satisfaction of employee equal to 55.80% and cooperation climate influence to employee job satisfaction equal to 37.40%.

Abstract

This study aimeds to describe the form of mental revolution in NyanyianPanjangBujang Si Undang which is viewed from six aspects tunjuk ajar, namely faith to God, honesty, intelligence, integrity, caring, and nationality. This study was a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data in this study were the character of educational value from the narrator, characters’ utterance and characters’ act which werecollected through format of data inventory. The data were analyzed based on Miles dan Hubeman’s models through three steps; data reduction, data display and conclusion. There are six forms mental revolution on the characters of educational value in NyanyianPanjangBujang Si Undangnamely faith to God, honesty, intelligence, integrity, caring, and nationality. Therefore, NyanyianPanjangBujang Si Undang as oral tradition inheritance can be used as the alternative in supporting the education from local wisdom of Melayu society to solve the problems of morality and ethic.

Abstract

This article aims to reveal philosophy level from axiology (use) of literature in the society of Minangkabau’s superstition viewed from cultural manifestation. This research is a content analysis researh using descriptive qualitative method. The research was done in 10 places in Luhak Kubuang Tigo Baleh Minangkabau namely Salayo, Cupak, Gantuang Ciri, Guguak, Koto Anau, Muara Paneh, Kota Solok, Talang, Panyangkalan, dan Kinari.The data in this research is the statements of superstition in KubuangTigoBaleh society which is obtained from observation and indepth interview withpenghulu, cerdik pandai, and alim ulama. In analyzing the data, the research usedMiles danHubeman’s modelsthrough three steps (1) data reduction, (2) data display and (3) conclusion. Based on the findings it can be concluded that There are four patterns of superstition, namely negative, positive, prediction and witchcraft pattern. Moreover, in the process of pattern meaning the lofty ethic values are framed and considered as local wisdom of the Minangkabau society, especially in KubuangTigoBaleh which is appropriate, well-mannered, educated and existence acknowledged as a belief.

Abstract

This article aims to describe an authentic project-based assessment model in improving students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on Sociology learning. This study used a mix-method design that applied ADDIE procedural to gain valid and reliable outcomes. Data collection used multiple techniques involving guided-interviews, survey, validity test, item instrument sheet, HOTS multiple questions with students' elicitation and observation sheet. The study results revealed that: (1) A characteristic of the authentic project-based assessment modelrefers toextensive assessments such as performance, attitude, presentation, product, project, and comprehension. Both performance and attitude assessments used during the project assessment. (2) An implementation of the authentic project-based assessment model is valid and reliable after givingan experimental treatmentin the class of X IIS SMAN 1 Padang that related to cognitive, affective and skills area. (3) An authentic project-based assessment model increased students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) regarding critical thinking and problem-solving aspects, communication skill aspects, creativity and innovation aspects, and collaboration aspects.

Abstract

Problem solving ability is a very important to attainment of objectives mathematics learning. In fact, the problem solving ability of student is still low. One of the efforts to improve the problem solving ability is handout development on contextual based-approach. The purpose of this development research is to know the characteristics handout on contextual based-approach which are valid, practical, and effective. This development research uses a Plomp model consisting of three phases namely : preliminary, prototyping, and assessment. The instruments were used in this study are validation sheets for RPP and handout, questionnaire for teacher and students, sheets of observation, and test. Handout on contextual based-approach has been valid with validity was 3.58 and it was practical with practicality level of the according to the teachers’ response gave 87,86% and students' response was 82.73%. They also efective to improve the problem solving ability of student.

Abstract

Chemo-entrepreneurship has been used as a contextual learning in chemistry and it can be used to study the material processing into a product of economic value. The aim of this research was to produce teaching material in the form a chemistry module based chemo-entrepreneurship oriented for grade XI students on the odd semester. The research and development approach was used in this study. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The result of the analysis showed the validation score of the module as very valid. Practicality tests based on student and teacher responses have shown that positive response toward module of chemo-entrepreneurship oriented. The effectiveness test module has been done based on student learning outcomes and showed effective category. In conclusion, the finding showed the module based chemo-entrepreneurship oriented for chemistry learning as valid, practical and effective for use in grade XI students on the odd semester.

Abstract

Coverage on certain mass media allegedly marginalizes women victims of rape. The purpose of this study was to to describe the gender perspective in the news of rape on the Harian Haluan. This writing analyzes reports of rape in the mass media using the method of critical discourse analysis model Sara Mills. The results showed (1) the position of women in the news of rape on the dominant Harian Haluan as the object of telling and (2) the gender ideology in the news of rape on Harian Haluan is patriarchy ideology. Most of the news of rape contains the assumption that men have power over women so women tend to be inferior and subordinated. Furthermore, the alignment of journalists in the news of rape on Harian Haluan, it was concluded that journalists tend to side with the perpetrators of rape.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a multimedia learning narrative writing that is valid, practical, and effective for use by students. This type of research is a development study, which develops multimedia learning using the 4D development model that begins with the defining, designing, developing, and deploying stages. Instruments used in this study are questionnaires, observation sheets, and performance tests. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion can be concluded as follows. First, the validity of developed multimedia is quite valid that is the percentage 82.63%. Second, the developed multimedia practicability is very practical with the percentage of 81.75%. Third, the effectiveness of multimedia developed is effective with the percentage of 78,72% with 49 people from 51 students from two test schools reaching value above the national standardization. Thus, the multimedia that has been developed can be used as a teaching medium in learning Indonesian especially narrative writing materials.

Abstract

The problem of this study is low process and result of students learning in Civic Education (PKn). The purpose of this study is to improve the process and the result of students learning in Civic Education (PKn). The type of research used is classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were teachers and 27 students in grade 4th. This research shows that there was an increase of lesson plan from cycle I that is average 76,78% to 92,85% in cycle II. Implementation of learning on teacher aspect and student aspect increased from average 77,25% in cycle I to be 93.18% in cycle II. And the increase of students learning outcomes increased from the average of 74.45 increased to average of 90.16 in cycle II. It can be concluded that by using classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approach (Course Review Horay Model) can improve process and result of students learning.
