Abstract

Entering the 21st century, the company no longer focuses on the expertise that employees have, but rather on optimizing the quality and function, as well as the positive work experience that employees have. This current situation shows that happiness is one of the important issues that need to be considered especially in the world environment. Happiness in the work place refers to employee satisfaction with their works and lives (Wesarat, Sharif & Majid, 2015).Employees who feel the happiness at work tend to focus more on their work and increase their productivities. Happiness at work is influenced by job satisfaction, job engagement, workplace security, managing stress and self-confidence. Furthermore, this paper will have a review of definitions, factors that influence happiness, the importance of happiness in the workplace and exposure to some of the results of previous research both outside and in Indonesia so that it can be an input for further research, remembering happiness is an important domain especially in life in the work environment.

Abstract

Children with special needs have problems with low social character and personal character. The purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of character education in children with special needs. This research is a qualitative research,This research was conducted on August 2 to September 29, 2018 at Special Schools of Perwari Padang, West Sumatra. The informants in this study were teachers who taught at the extraordinary Perwari Padang school which amounted to 5 people, with the object of research totaling 64 students special needs. Data collection methods use observation, documentation, interviews. The findings of the researcher indicate several behavioral problems which indicate that there is no personal character or social character in children with special needs (especially for mentally retarded children). The results of the study show the importance of applying the values of character education to children with special needs for the realization of a better national character.

Abstract

Technology is an effective means to facilitate the learning communication process, but there are still many people who are familiar with the process of direct communication. This study intends to analyze the effectiveness of using WhatsApp in carrying out tasks. Three students were involved in a simple experiments, the task was to make an agreement on the list of important items brought. The data obtained are in the form of communication transactions that occur during discussions. This study found a low score in making decisions about the order of items that were important to be carried, and there was a discussion over the time limit. Another results show that there are conversations that are not balanced and not relevant to their purpose. One dominates the other two passive, there is a chat that is not in line with the direction of discussion.

Abstract

Smartphones have become a means of communication and information in everyday life. This situation makes a person have a dependency in life on mobile phones. Too often the use of mobile phones will cause Nomophobia to begin with smarthphone addiction, assuming that mobile phone is a very important and inseparable need for life. Currently the problem of Nomophobia has occurred in several countries in the world even in Indonesia, this problem is a psychosocial problem. This study uses an analytical approach with quantitative design. Research was conducted on adolescents of high school in the city of Padang in 2018 with a sample of 147 people. Data was collected through questionnaires. The purpose of this study is to be able to study the level of teen anxiety with mobile phones. This research began in July 2018 at Senior High Schools in Padang City. The results obtained for students' anxiety level is 54.5% of high school teenagers in Padang City experience moderate anxiety, and 47.6% of high school teenagers in Padang City experience moderate nomophobia. There is a relationship between the level of anxiety of high school teenagers towards nomophobia in Padang City.

Abstract

Pornography content is becoming an increasingly serious problem in Indonesia, where it is suspected that around 97% of 1,600 children and adolescents have been exposed to pornography. Various efforts have been made by the government to minimize the prevalence of pornography content, such as by blocking porn-suspected sites. It is also known that the exposure of massive and periodic pornography content to children and adolescents can result in adverse effects in the form of addiction. Research results with EEG (Edison, RE., et al) and fMRI (Prawiroharjo, P., et al) have reported changes in the brain activity of children and adolescents who were suspected as having addiction to pornography content. Interestingly, there is a tendency to a phenomenon of faking good among the subjects. This article discusses the phenomenon from the perspectives of psychology and neuroscience.

Abstract

The conflict between Tanjung Pauh Mudik and Kumun villages is an issue which continuously acquires a lot of attention of many groups as it causes a lot disadvantage, either death, traumatic experiences, losing homes or properties. After the conflict, the villagers tried to rebuild their life and their village. Rebuilding something destroyed after the traumatic event need positive emotion as a foundation. This research intends to examine more deeply on how these two villagers’ emotions are, especially in an attempt to create harmonization on both villages and their people. Next, to explore the positive consequence of those emotions which impact positively on the villagers in creating peace among them. This research uses the Indigenous psychology approach, with qualitative method through surveys and interviews on the villagers from both villages. The number of the participants ini this research were 86 participants living in Kumun and Tanjung Pauh village. The result of this research shows that the emerged emotions which arise when the villagers would like to create a harmonious relationship are empathy, love of peace, solidarity, the feeling of prosperous and conducive and there is still a feeling of scared. The factors influenced these emotions are the affiliation need, religions, cultures, losing experiences during the conflict, as well as socio-economy. From those results, the researchers concluded that the villagers’ emotions are conditional meaning that when the escalation of the conflict exists people should be able to realize the necessity of love and peace feeling

Abstract

The ability to solve problems is one of the important goals of mathematics. In order for problem-solving ability to flourish well, the learning should actively involve students. Student learning activity class VIII SMPN 5 Kerinci is still low, resulting in the ability to solve math problems is also low. One reason is the use of learning metodees that are still focused on teachers and do not actively engage students. For that purpose, efforts are made to improve students' maturity and problem solving abilities through Think-Talk-Write learning strategy. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII SMPN 5 Kerinci Pelajarair Year 2015/2016 which amounted to 22 people. The results showed that the learning by using TTW learning strategy can improve the activity and problem solving ability of student math. For listening activities, paying attention to teacher explanations, asking questions, reading, understanding LKS and making important notes, interactions in discussions, and staying in groups achieve both criteria and excellent criteria for individual LKS completion activities.

Abstract

Mathematics learning that occurred in SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci still centered on the teacher. Teachers tend to give concepts and formulas and how to use them, resulting in low student learning outcomes. This study aims to improve understanding of concept and problem solving ability of mathematics through cooperative type model of TPS. The research is classroom action research with 2 cycles.The subjects of this study are the students of class IX C SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci amounted to 21. This class is chosen as the subject of research because the researchers teach the class, the concept understanding and solving the mathematical problems of students are still low, the lack of attention of students in learning mathematics, and viewing the learning of mathematics is a difficult lesson and the activity of students in the classroom is limited to listening, recording and working on the problem The results showed the application of cooperative learning model type Think-Pair-Share can improve concept understanding and mathematical problem solving and based on the result of questionnaire and the interview given can improve the motivation of studying student of class IX C SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci.

Before independence in 1933 scent pecco is a lake that is a kind of water body in a plantation tea having a garden be resting place after the dutch colonial gardening and after kemerdekan this place in made tourism kerinci in the district .The work is aiming to express history scent pecco originating from the netherlands became tourist colonial superior kerinci district and the kind of research it includes historical research the method of a heuristic , criticism of , interpretation and historiografi .The result showed that tourism scent pecco but is a lake having a gorge berpanorama beautiful and natural beauty of being in a stretch of tea tengan-tengah plantation exactly under the mountain kerinci is also a historic tourism .Conclusions scent pecco is the result of a relic colonial dutch indies and current to tourism district in seed kerinci appointed for a holiday

Abstract

Pesantren is the forerunner of education based in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach. Population in this research is Padang city society (especially in District of Padang Utara). The study sample was 128 people and 30 community leaders (Alim-Ulama) people. The sample selection was done by simple random (simple random sampling). Data collection techniques using questionnaires. Data analysis technique using SPSS program version 24. Statistical analysis technique used is Pearson correlation. The results of the study found: there is no correlation between public opinion and religious figures about the development of pesantren based on android postmodernism. Recommendations: There needs to be a more in-depth study of the development of Android-based pesantren at the empirical level; curriculum, learning system, learning strategy and assessment mechanism and so on.
