Abstract

This research aimed to determine the impact of overtime and overwork on employee performance, as mediated by perceived compensation. Conducted at a medical equipment distributor in Bali, the study surveyed all 100 permanent employees using a census method. Data were collected via an online questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicated that: (i) overwork positively affects employee performance, while overtime does not; (ii) perceived compensation fully mediates the effect of overtime on employee performance, but not the effect of overwork.

According to BPS data, there are 2,153 distributor companies in Batam City, employing a total of 259,749 employees. The sample of this study was obtained from 382 respondents working in distributor companies who filled out questionnaires online via Google Forms. The processed data came from 365 respondents, with 54.25 percent of the respondents being male. This study uses quantitative data analysis techniques and descriptive quantitative research. The data was collected using survey techniques or questionnaires and processed using Partial Least Square (PLS). Results of this study showed that Gender Discrimination and Lack of Administrative to Person-Related Hostility have a positive and significant effect (H1) and (H2). Gender Discrimination, Lack of Administrative Support, and Person-related hostility to Poor Job Performance have a positive and significant effect (H3), (H4), and (H5). Then, Gender Discrimination and Lack of Administrative Support have a significant indirect impact on Poor job performance and are mediated by person-related hostility (H6) & (H7). Abstract

This study examines how a shift work system affects employees’ work motivation, considering social support as a mediating mechanism. The research took place at Gambut Barakat Type A Terminal, South Kalimantan, a public service facility that operates continuously with rotating morning, afternoon, and night schedules. A quantitative, causal comparative design was employed, and all 35 shift employees were surveyed using standardized instruments for shift work and social support. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The results indicate that the shift work system has a positive impact on work motivation (β = 0.536) and also enhances perceived social support (β = 0.763). Social support has a positive effect on motivation (β = 0.383) and partially mediates the relationship between shift work and motivation (β = 0.409). The model yields an R² of 0.744, indicating that 74.4% of the variance in motivation is explained by the combined effect of shift work and social support. These findings highlight the importance of transparent and well-managed rosters accompanied by a supportive interpersonal climate. In continuous public service operations, equitable scheduling, combined with peer and supervisory support, can enhance employee motivation and help sustain performance over time.

Abstract

CV Eazywear Indonesia faces ongoing gaps between production targets and output, suggesting dissatisfaction with payroll practices that reduce work motivation and performance. This study investigates whether salary satisfaction impacts employee performance directly and indirectly through work motivation. A quantitative survey using a closed-ended questionnaire was given to all 40 permanent employees identified by census from production and support departments. Measures assessed pay satisfaction, work motivation, and job performance. Data were analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling in SmartPLS 4.0, including tests for convergent and discriminant validity and reliability. Results show that salary satisfaction positively affects work motivation (β = 0.805) and performance (β = 0.455). Work motivation boosts performance (β = 0.496) and mediates the relationship between salary and performance (indirect β = 0.399). R² values for performance and motivation are 0.817 and 0.648, indicating strong explanatory power. The findings highlight the value of fair, transparent, and well-communicated payroll management in boosting motivation and productivity in labor-intensive garment operations. This study is limited to one firm with a small sample, constraining generalizability. Future research should use multi-site, longitudinal designs and include objective performance metrics and controls.

Abstract

Employee engagement has become a topic of research and discussion among practitioners and academics in recent years. Many healthcare workers are experiencing job dissatisfaction, stress, and burnout. Many feel unappreciated by their organizations and are considering quitting due to long working hours. This situation leads many healthcare professionals to contemplate leaving their jobs. This research contributes to filling the gap in studies on educational dental teaching hospitals (RSGM) industries regarding the influence of prosocial and intrinsic motivation on employee engagement, mediated by affective commitment. The hypothesis was tested on samples from 224 healthcare and medical personnel at 5 Educational RSGM, using structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS software version 24. The test results indicated that prosocial motivation had no significant impact on employee engagement, whereas the other six hypotheses were confirmed as significant.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of asset growth, profitability, and dividend payout ratio (DPR) on company value, with capital structure as an intervening variable, in the property sub-sector listed on the BEI from 2018 to 2022. Only 6 out of 80 property companies passed the selection for this research. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with data analysis conducted using EViews. The results show that asset growth does not affect company value. Profitability and DPR have a positive impact on investor perceptions of a company's value, resulting in an increase in that value. Capital structure does not mediate the relationship between these factors. These results are useful for investors and entrepreneurs in company management.

Abstract

Digitalization has significantly impacted the culinary industry, necessitating that businesses adapt to remain competitive. Rumah Makan and Café Saung Bodeman face service challenges, including manual reservations, limited menu information, and inefficient operations. This study aims to design a digital service program using the Design Thinking method through five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. A qualitative approach with interviews and observations was conducted to explore user needs from both consumers and employees. The research produced two interactive website prototypes: one for consumers (online reservations, menu ordering, estimated processing time, and menu availability) and one for employees (a dashboard for reservation management, menu and seating updates, and input reservations). Usability testing with the System Usability Scale (SUS) involving 12 respondents showed that both prototypes achieved acceptable scores with good user satisfaction. The results show that the proposed digital solution effectively addresses service issues and can improve Saung Bodeman's competitiveness in the digital era.
