Abstract

Indonesia is an agrarian country with subtropical climate suitable for planting multicultural and one of those plants is sugar cane. Sugar cane is a raw material for producing sugar, where biomass waste has not been utilized appropriately. The amount of biomass waste was produced of 24-30% from sugar mills. Effective, efficient and environmentally friendly waste treatment technology is needed to utilize the waste into a renewable energy source using gasification methods. Gasification is a process to convert biomass waste to combustible gases (CO, CH4, and H2). This process is combustion with limited air supply (20% -40% stoichiometric air) to break long hydrocarbon chains into short hydrocarbons at high temperatures. This method requires an updraft gasifier furnace that is capable of being operated at high temperatures, which can convert biomass waste into syngas with high conversion. An updraft gasifier is a gasification furnace at temperature of 300-500oC and atmospheric pressure, also used air flow of 10-20 L / min and zeolite as catalyst. This research are devided into few steps, namely drying, crushing, separating, gasification process, The proximate and ultimate method was used to analyze the produced syngas. Proximate analysis is an analysis to measure the calorific value by using a calorimeter bomb, ash content used AAF furnace, and moist water content used a decator. Moreover, ultimate method was used to analyze CH4, H2, O2, N2, CO and CO2 compositions by using Gas Chromatography (GC). Firstly, sugarcane bagasse as the main raw material, were dried and chopped in 7 cm then it were put into the gasifier. The results showed that maximum syngas ratio of combustible gas (CO, H2 and CH4) and noncombustible gas (NGC) of 1.03 with added the zeolit of 200 gr and water of 40 ,L/min.

Abstract

Modification of meat grinder machine 8 kg capacity has been developed to get an applicable machine for fish meat processing in micro and small enterprise like that warung pempek, kemplang and crackers businesses. The machine is designed more simply that driven by AC motor 0.5 HP with speed rotation of 1400 rpm. The results using 3 types of fish shows that average capacity of machine is 12,13 kg/ hour. In addition, the element of convenience in washing the grinder blade is a major aspect to consider in modification.

Abstract

In the industrial application, the pneumatik system was used to help the production process that uses automatic control. The pneumatik system trainer that already exists in the Politeknik Jambi workshop still uses a manual control system. In this discussion, the writer wants to modify the PLC-based electro-pneumatik policy (programmer logic controller). Pneumatik systems were all systems that use power in the form of compressed air and are used to produce work. The first compressed air by the compressor and stored in the storage tube. The storage air was treated so that the pneumatik system can function correctly. The compressed air was regulated for use by a pneumatik control system, which is connected to the solenoid valve to drive three cylinders of double-acting opposite motion..

Abstract

As Small and Medium size enterprise(SME) still using manual and simple tools in their operation as done by Bude Wagino SME which is located at Sungai Bahar,Batanghari. This SME specialized at making kripik Tempe(Tempe chips). Based on observation and interview at the SME, the workers complain that they experience over fatigue, back pain and sore muscle in their arms. The purpose of this research is to design ergonomic slicer tempe tools by using  ENASE concept. This research using mixed method which using antropometri data such as height of sitting elbow,normal range,far reach, and grip width as quantitative method. As qualitative method used for interview the workers. The data of workers percentile will be used as based design of the tools.By using the tool will be expected to decrease the workers complain and can increase the productivity.

Abstract

PT X Industry adalah perusahaan yang memproduksi Pulp & Tisu dalam berbagai macam jenis, sesuai dengan permintaan konsumen. PT X Industry terdiri dari beberapa Divisi dan Divisi membawahi beberapa unit, Salah satu unit dari divisi Pulp Mill adalah Pulp Machine. Untuk menghasilkan produksi Pulp tidak terlepas dengan ketersediaan Felt pada Pulp Machine sehingga Perusahaan perlu melaksanakan perencanaan dan Pengendaliannya sehingga Umur Felt dapat dioptimalkan. Dengan adanya peningkatan umur felt akan berdampak langsung terhadap penghematan Cost Felt dan berpotensi terhadap peningkatan Produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Total Cost Felt dengan menggunakan Metode EOQ. Lokasi penelitian di PT X Industry Divisi PUP (PulpMill Production) Unit Pulp Machine di Heavy Duty Press (HDP 1 & 2 ). Tanggal 08 Oktober 2019 sampai 10 Januari 2020. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisa kualitatif dan kuantitatif dan dilakukan perhitungan angka-angka yang dapat membantu dalam menentukan cost Felt. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, Observasi dan dokumen. Teknik pengolahan data yang digunakan yaitu metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). Hasil Penelitian ini bahwa dengan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) dengan safety stock Total Cost Felt lebih besar dari tanpa safety Stock akan tetapi dengan adanya Safety Stock lebih menjamin ketersediaan Felt sehingga produksi dapat berjalan lancar dan dapat memenuhi pesanan konsumen sehingga kerugian yang lebih besar dapat dihindari.

Abstract

PT. ICG is a company that handles the pipeline welding process at PetroChina Jabung Ltd. The welding process carried out is cutting, rolling, pressing and painting. The problem that occurs is that 243 defects are found from the output of 457 welding points. The types of defects after the welding process included 106 points of Root Cancellation defects, 99 points of Incomplete fusion, 29 points of Porosity, 8 points of Slug Inclusion, and 1 point of Tungsten Inclusion. This study aims to control quality by looking at the sigma value of the pipeline production process and analyzing the improvements that should be made to reduce the defects that occur. The results of the calculation of Defect Per Million Opportunities (DPMO) show that the number of welding defects that arise every one million opportunities is 174,10. The quality of the welding process in the pipeline Sabar # 2 project is at a sigma value of 2,43 with a DPMO value of 174,10. From the results of the sigma value obtained, this value is still far from the expectations of Petrochina's management to achieve a minimum sigma value of 4,0. The potential causes of weld defects include welding machines, work errors, work methods and work environment.

Abstract

The problem in this research is using the control chart diagram - R whether the 2018 kernel product defects at PT. Inti Indosawit Subur is still under control ?, by using a causal diagram what factors cause the failure of kernel products at PT. Inti Indosawit Subur?. The purpose of this final project is to determine the defect rate of kernel products at PT. Inti Indosawit Subur is still under control or not through the control chart - R and to find out what factors cause the failure of kernel products at PT. Inti Indosawit Subur through a causal diagramThe data collection methods used in the writing of this study were field research (interviews and documentation) and literature study. The data analysis method used is the control chart - R to see abnormalities or deviations in the kernel quality data and cause and effect diagrams to analyze what are the causes of product defects.Based on the results of research and data processing, it is known that of the three quality standards of kernel products, two of them are out of control, namely dirt and shell (dirt content) and broken kernel (broken kernel). Therefore, the authors provide suggestions for the company to improve the quality of kernel products.

Abstract

Refrigeran is a major component in an Air Conditioner (AC) system. AC is a cooling system used as a room temperature conditioning tool, so it is comfortable to use in indoor activities. The refrigeran pressure in the cooling system can reduce the air conditioner's ability to condition the room temperature. The purpose of this study was to determine the coefficient of performance (COP) value of refrigeran R-134a with variations in refrigeran pressure of 100, 125, and 150 psi. The parameters studied were the compressor's energy consumption, the cooling capacity, and the COP value. Energy consumption is calculated based on the compressor power multiplied by the length of time the compressor is operated. The results show that the COP value decreases with an increased operating time of the cooling system; this indicates that energy consumption increases with increasing refrigeran pressure.

PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VI Timber Business Unit Aro Kerinci is a company engaged in processing. Customer satisfaction is a major key in the service development process. Therefore, increasing the performance of a company is to increase the quality of a company. Performance is a description of the level of implementation of an activity, program, realizing the goals, objectives, mission and vision of the organization which are contained in the formulation of an organization's strategic scheme (strategic planning). Retrieval of performance results at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VI Aro Kerinci Timber Business Unit has four perspectives and ten indicators, namely financial indicators with increasing profit perspective, customer indicators, consumer loyalty and increasing number of consumers, internal business indicators, number perspective, work accident rate and employee attendance and learning perspective and satisfaction indicators growth. employees, increase employee competition and rewards or rewards. To determine the level of service at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VI Aro Kerinci Timber Business Unit is carried out using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method with hierarchical stages, pair comparisons and consistency checks in carrying out this consistency check carried out by several stages of Weight Sum Factor (WSF), Consistency Factor (CF), index consistency (CI), index ratio (RI) and Consistency Ratio (CR).

Abstract

The problem in this research is how to forecast HDPE pipe supply orders at PDAM Tirta Mayang Jambi using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method ?. The purpose of this study was to determine the Forecasting of HDPE Pipe Supply Orders at PDAM Tirta Mayang Jambi using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. According to Nazir (2011), "The descriptive research method is a method of examining the status of a group of people, an object, a condition, a system of thinking, or a class of events in the present". The research objective is used to describe or explain accurately, systematically the facts in the phenomenon under study. Through this descriptive research, the researcher aims to obtain and describe how to apply the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) inventory method in addition to the inventory method applied by PDAM Tirta Mayang Jambi City. From the analysis carried out on the HDPE pipe supply control at PDAM Tirta Mayang, Jambi City, it can be seen: (1) To forecast the need for HDPE pipe for new connections using the linear regression method. So that the total estimated number of HDPE pipes needed during 2020 is 23766 meters of pipe for one year needs. (2) The EOQ method is used to determine the number of economic orders that a company must place at 3256 meters / Order. (3) For the total cost that must be incurred by the company using EOQ is Rp. 45,448,450, while using the conventional method the company has to pay a higher cost of Rp. 88,768,650. so that it can be seen that there is a very large difference between using the EOQ method and the conventional amounting to Rp. 43,320,200, -.
