Abstract

Student engagement involves student responsibility in the lecture process which can be influenced by fear of failure, in this relationship there is self-compassion that can bridge. Students with high fear of failure, but high self-compassion make it possible to manage the negative impact of fear of failure and ultimately student engagement increases. This study aimed to determine the role of self-compassion in mediating the relationship between fear of failure and student engagement. The sample in this study was 384 students who were taken using the convenience sampling technique. Data were collected using three scales, namely the student engagement scale, the self-compassion scale, and the fear of failure scale. Data analysis was conducted using mediation analysis with JASP to test the mediating role of self-compassion and PROCESS analysis to see the dynamics of the relationship between the three variables in more detail. The mediation analysis results showed a significant relationship between fear of failure and student engagement in Sebelas Maret University students through self-compassion. The mediating role of self-compassion provides a greater influence than the direct effect. Increasing fear of failure allows a decrease in self-compassion. Furthermore, an increase in self-compassion allows for an increase in student engagement.

Abstract

TikTok social media addiction is one of the phenomena that is increasing today and has a major impact on daily life. To reduce this addiction, this study uses a behavior modification technique, namely token economy. The token economy is a behavior modification system that utilizes the principle of reinforcement in the form of tokens to increase the desired behavior. The economic tokens used are star stickers that will be given during the intervention phase. The research method used is a single case experiment with an A-B research design which is divided into 2 phases, namely the baseline phase (A) and the Intervention phase (B). The subject is a 14-year-old teenager who uses TikTok social media a lot. The results showed that the application of the token economy succeeded in reducing the duration of playing TikTok social media from an average of 6 hours a day to 2 hours a day

Instagram social media is one of the media that is widely used to carry out social comparisons with other Instagram social media users which can then affect self-esteem. This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of Instagram use and self-esteem with social comparison moderators in emerging adulthood. Selection of participants using a quota sampling technique. This research involved 288 students at university "X" with an age range of 18-27 years, male and female, and Instagram social media users. The research data was collected using the Rosenberg self-esteem scale questionnaire, Instagram intensity scale, and The Iowa Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure. The study used a correlational design using multiple regression analysis with a moderator. The findings of this study indicate that the intensity of using Instagram and social comparison simultaneously can affect self-esteem but in a low category. Social comparison has also not been proven to act as a moderator variable.

Abstract

Self-forgiveness has been proven to greatly benefit an individual's mental health and help them live a better life. This study aims to adapt a measuring instrument using Rasch modeling to obtain a valid and quality measuring instrument. In addition, the Rasch model can also predict missing data, evaluate the similarity of answers, and identify the seriousness of respondents. In adapting the measuring instrument, 6 stages must be carried out. The research subjects were 214 participants selected using convenience sampling with the criteria of early adulthood aged 18-25 years. Overall, this adaptation can be said to be good in measuring the construct of self-forgiveness in the context of Indonesian culture based on testing the Rasch model. The results of the data analysis that have been carried out using the Rasch model are that for person reliability it gets a value of 0.83 while for item reliability it gets a value of 0.99. The average value of INFIT MNSQ and OUTFIT MNSQ in people is 0.98 and 1.00, and in items, it is also 0.98 and 1.00. A value approaching 1.00 is considered good. For INFIT ZSTD and OUTFIT ZSTD, the average values for individuals were -0.2 and -0.1, while for items they were -0.3 and 0.0, with the ideal value approaching 0.0. The results show that these values are classified as good. In addition to obtaining an accurate measuring instrument, this study is also useful in clinical practice so that it can be used to identify and overcome obstacles in the self-forgiveness process.

The subjects of this study were 184 high school students. Data were collected by modifying the growth mindset scale instrument, the hardiness personality scale, and the subjective well-being scale. The analysis technique used is the multiple regression technique. The results of this study indicate that hardiness has a more significant effect on subjective well-being with an R2 contribution of 0.161%. In addition, growth mindset also influences subjective well-being with an R2 contribution of 0.022% and if combined, growth mindset and hardiness mutually strengthen the subjective well-being of high school students, namely the contribution obtained by R2 of 0.162%. Abstract

Sleep is essential for a person's life. Quality sleep will affect a person's condition in living their days. Many things can disrupt a person's sleep quality, including excessive smartphone use, bedtime procrastination, and low self-regulation. This study aimed to empirically examine the influence of sleep delay, smartphone addiction tendencies, and self-regulation on sleep quality in early adult smartphone users. The sampling technique in this research is non-probability sampling. The sample in this study was 149 early adult smartphone users with an age range of 18-40 years. Data collection in this study used a sleep delay scale, smartphone addiction scale, self-regulation scale, and sleep quality scale. Based on the results of multiple regression analysis, it is known that the significance level is 0.000 (p<0.01), with an RSquare value of 0.461 (46.1%). This shows that the influence of self-regulation, smartphone addiction tendencies, and bedtime procrastination on the sleep quality of early adult smartphone users is very significant. Apart from that, it appears that self-regulation, smartphone addiction tendencies, and bedtime procrastination affect the sleep quality of early adult smartphone users by 46.1% while other factors outside this research influence the remaining 53.9%.

Abstract

The rapid development of urbanization is distancing people from the natural environment, especially in urban areas, including Daerah Khusus Jakarta (DKJ) or Jakarta. Jakarta has been experiencing a significant decrease in green space from year to year, making it more difficult for people to access a green environment. Therefore, this study aims to see how the role of access to natural is moderating the relationship between natural relatedness and wellbeing in urban society, especially in the Jakarta region. The research participants involved 152 people aged over 18 years old with more than 1 year stay in the Jakarta area. The quantitative research was structured and hypothesis testing was carried out using the partial least squared structural equation modeling (LPS-SEM) method. The results showed that nature relatedness was significantly correlated with wellbeing (β = 0.354, t = 3.221, p < 0.05) and access to the nature was significantly correlated with wellbeing (p < 0.05). However, there was no moderating role of access to nature on the relationship between nature relatedness and wellbeing (β= 0.027, t= 0.373, p = 0.709). The differences between the results of this study and previous studies are discussed and the characteristics of the participants involved are considered.
