Abstract

Cases of default leading to the suspension of shares of state-owned enterprise (SOE) issuers reveal structural problems in corporate governance and in the implementation of disclosure obligations in the Indonesian capital market. This study aims to analyze the accountability of SOE issuers’ corporate governance, the forms of legal liability arising from default, and the effectiveness of investor protection mechanisms when trading suspensions are imposed. Using a normative legal research method with statutory, conceptual, and case-based approaches, this study examines empirical data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) from 2020 to 2024, including the cases of Garuda Indonesia, Waskita Karya, and several construction-sector issuers experiencing liquidity pressure and default risk. The findings indicate that defaults among SOE issuers are not incidental events but represent a pattern of systemic risk influenced by high leverage, moral hazard arising from implicit state guarantees, and weak supervisory functions of corporate organs. Share suspension as a market protection instrument has proven ineffective, as it is not accompanied by early risk detection mechanisms and fails to provide substantive recovery for investors. Although Articles 80 and 90 of the Capital Market Law provide a legal basis for investor claims, legal protection remains weak due to its reliance on disclosure-based regimes without guaranteed compensation. This study concludes that strengthening SOE accountability, reforming risk-based supervisory frameworks, and restructuring share suspension regulations are essential to enhance capital market integrity and ensure more effective investor protection.

Abstract

Traditional markets are the center of people's economic activities that are not only oriented towards fulfilling material needs, but also loaded with ethical and moral values. In practice, buying and selling transactions in traditional markets are still faced with various problems, such as fraud, lack of transparency, and weak accountability, which have the potential to deviate from the principles of Islamic economics. This study aims to analyze the application of basic principles of sharia economics in buying and selling transactions by traders in Tolo' Market, Kelara District, Jeneponto Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with field research methods. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and interviews with traders and buyers, while data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that in general, traders at Tolo' Market have applied the basic principles of sharia economics, including the principles of justice, transparency, halal, and trust, although the implementation is not fully optimal. The principles of fairness and transparency are quite visible in the pricing and delivery of information on goods, the principle of halal is carried out properly through the selection of halal and consumable goods, and the principle of trust is reflected in the responsibility of traders to buyer complaints. However, the principle of accountability is still a challenge, especially related to the recording of transactions that have not been carried out systematically. This research is expected to be a reference in strengthening sharia business ethics in traditional markets and encouraging increased awareness of traders on the importance of applying sharia economic principles as a whole.

Abstract

This research aims to improve learning outcomes in science using audio-visual media. As a natural science, it aims to educate students in understanding natural sciences, such as natural phenomena and how to understand scientific methods and then apply them with a scientific attitude. Science is also a field of study that studies the natural sciences, namely substances, both living and non-living things. Based on the results of the initial survey, with the majority of students being less active in participating in learning activities, student learning outcomes in science are still low, and many have not yet achieved the KKTP (Preparatory Competency Level). Based on these problems, the researcher made efforts to improve the learning process by using audio-visual media. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with data collection using several methods: observation, tests, and documents. Learning was conducted in two cycles, with 13 students from fourth grade participating in the study. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that: Student learning outcomes using audio-visual media are as follows: In the pre-cycle, 6 students (46.15%) achieved learning completion with an average score of 73.69. In the first cycle, 8 students (61.54%) achieved learning completion with an average score of 75.69. Furthermore, in the second cycle, student learning outcomes improved further, with 11 students (84.62%) achieved learning completion with an average score of 82.00, completing the learning. Abstract

The interconnected world of the 21st century has shifted the goal of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education from mere linguistic competence to the holistic development of Intercultural Communication Competence (ICC). This study investigates the crucial role of Language Learning Strategies (LLS) employed by EFL students in facilitating the acquisition and deployment of ICC. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research explores the lived experiences of five purposively selected EFL university students in Indonesia, focusing on their strategic actions when engaging in cross-cultural interactions. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, reflective journals, and non-participant observation of simulated intercultural tasks. The findings reveal that social/affective LLS (e.g., seeking out native speakers, showing empathy) and specific metacognitive LLS (e.g., directed attention to cultural norms, self-monitoring for cultural appropriateness) are the most instrumental in developing ICC's key components: Attitudes (openness and curiosity), Knowledge (understanding cultural values), and Skills (interpreting and relating). The study concludes that explicit instruction in LLS, particularly those encouraging social and reflective engagement, is vital for transforming EFL learners into intercultural competent global citizens. This work provides pedagogical implications for EFL educators to integrate LLS training within a culturally-rich curriculum. Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the paradigm of ecotheology as a response to the global ecological crisis rooted in anthropocentrism and the secularization of the relationship between humans and nature. The research employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach and hermeneutical analysis of Islamic theological sources, particularly the concepts of cosmic tawhid, khalifah (stewardship), mīzān (balance), the prohibition of fasād (corruption/destruction), and ihsan (moral excellence). The findings indicate that an ideal ecotheological paradigm should be developed through the integration of spiritual awareness, ecological ethics, and sustainable social praxis. Ecotheology functions not merely as an environmental ethic, but as an epistemological foundation and civilizational orientation that affirms the interconnectedness of humans, nature, and God. The resulting operational model of ecotheology positions spirituality as the basis of ecological consciousness, ethics as moral regulation, and ecological action as its concrete implementation in social life.
