Abstract

Social media platform has become one of the main attributes for teaching and learning. One of those digital platforms widely used is YouTube. YouTube functions not only as a social media for interacting with the world, but also as a teaching media for delivering material. This research is conducted to gain more information related to the use of YouTube in teaching and learning. The research question was, “How was the use of YouTube in delivering English class to the first semester students of Islamic Education Management Study Program at Datokarama State Islamic University Palu?” This is a case study in qualitative research. The instruments applied in this research were observation which was conducted as many as six meetings and an interview with eight questions to thirteen first semester students of Islamic Education Management Study Program at Datokarama State Islamic University Palu. The result of this research showed the point of view from the lecturers and the students related to the research question. The lecturers viewed YouTube as one of solutions for solving the problem of delivering distance learning. Explaining material of English via YouTube can be seriously challenging. The lecturers should perform well in front of the camera while delivering the material. From the students’ point of view, YouTube helped them understand the explanation of English material easily. They did not have to download videos and save them in the phone memory. They only needed to click the link and watch the videos in YouTube.

Abstract

This paper aims to introduce the method of learning literature in Indonesian subjects. Literary material, especially poetry appreciation, is often a problem for teachers and students. To overcome this problem, one of the solutions offered by the author is in the form of a method that is considered to be able to solve problems in literary learning, especially in poetry appreciation. Some of the literary teaching methods applied include the lecture and question and answer method, discussion, audio-visual and content analysis. The implementation steps taken by teachers and students are (a) choosing poetry literary texts (b) choosing learning media, (c) analyzing poetry literary texts together. (d) form groups of students. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct systematic literature on mathematics learning innovation using google classroom. The research method is the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. Data collection is done by documenting and reviewing all articles related to Mathematics Learning and Google Classroom published in brackets in 2019-2020. Based on a search of various articles on the Google Scholar database, twelve (12) articles were obtained. The results of this study are a discussion of the findings that occur in the article. Based on the research conducted, the results of this study indicate that (1) learning mathematics using google classroom has a significant effect on learning so that learning is effective, characterized by high student participation and various positive attitudes that exist in students. (2) learning mathematics using google classroom is very good for learning outcomes and learning motivation of an educator. But it still has to be improved considering that there are still many learning facilities and infrastructure that do not support it, as well as abstract mathematical objectsneeded to click the link and watch the videos in YouTube

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' speaking ability through learning with the modeling method. This research is a classroom action research. The research subjects were all class VIII students of MTs Alkhairaat Pinotu for the 2020/2021 academic year, totaling 20 people, namely 12 boys and 8 girls. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. The design of this study refers to the Kemmis and McTaggart model which consists of four components, namely 1) planning, 2) action implementation, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. The data collected in this study is in the form of teacher and student activity data during the learning process obtained by using observation sheets and student learning outcomes data obtained by giving individual tests to students. In the research that has been carried out, it was found that for the Grade VIII students of MTs Alkhairaat Pinotu, the score of the pre-action speech students was 45% and then increased from 71.2 in the first cycle to 78.2% in the second cycle. The increase in the second cycle was due to the researchers placing more emphasis on the concept of motivating students to be bolder in speaking out from the reflection of the first cycle in giving speeches using the modeling method. While in cycle II, the researcher emphasized changing the model in learning. Thus, the application of modeling media can improve the achievement of speaking skills (speech) of class VIII MTs Alkhairaat Pinotu students so that the application of modeling media is carried out by teachers to improve student learning outcomes

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia serta kurangnya respon siswa ketika pembelajaran berlangsung. Penelitian yang dilakukan di kelas V SDN Sukajaya Kecamatan Cipatujah Kabupaten Tasikmlaya ini bertujuan untuk menguji ke efektifan strategi pembelajaran PAIKEM terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan tindakan kelas. Strategi pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan oleh guru khususnya pada tingkat Sekolah dasar yaitu dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, metode ceramah ini pembelajarannya hanya gruru saja yang menyampaikan materi tanpa ada timbal balik dari peserta didiknya. Akibatnya peserta didik akan merasa bosan dan pembelajaran menjadi tergantung kepada guru dan kurangnya partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Perlu adanya pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yaitu untuk mengembangkan strategi yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya untuk digunakan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Strategi yang dikembangkan yaitu PAIKEM yakni Pembelajaran Aktif Inovatif Kreatif Efektif dan Menyenangkan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using mind mapping media on patterned sentence material on the understanding of SMA/SMK/MA equivalent students. This research is a quantitative research. The research method used is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were SMA/SMK/MA equivalent students. The sampling technique used was the snowball sampling technique. Samples were obtained from disseminating from small groups to large groups. The data collection instrument used was multiple choice test sheets which were given through pre-test and post-test via google form and WhatsApp to provide mind mapping media. The data from this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics by analyzing the mean, median and mode obtained from the pre-test and post-test. From the research results, it is known that the average, median and post-test mode results after being given mind mapping media are more improved than before being given mind mapping media by doing a pre-test. So it can be concluded that there is a significant effect after the use of mind mapping media with patterned sentence material on the understanding of SMA/SMK/MA students on an equal footing.

Abstract

Membaca merupakan salah satu medium untuk mengakses ilmu pengetahuan khususnya ekposur kebahasaan namun dewasa ini, para peserta didik belum dibekali kemampuan membaca untuk menfasilitasi dan melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis. Atas dasar itu, penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk menemukan solusi atas permasalahan dalam observasi awal. Penelitian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) dengan meningkatkan kemampuan membaca cepat pada mahasiswa semester II fakultas sastra universitas alkhairaat Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindak Kelas (PTK). Desain penelitian ini mengacu pada model spiral yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri empat tahap yaitu 1) perencanaaan, 2) pelaksanaa, 3).cobservasi, dan 4) refleksi. Dari hasil peningkatan membaca cepat dengan Penerapkan metode SQ3R siklus 1 diketahui jumlah rata-rata ketuntasan membaca cepat dan memahami isi bacaan hanya mencapai 20%, sementara itu, pada siklus 2 ketuntasan membaca cepat dan memahami isi bacaan mencapai 95% dengan kategori sangat memuaskan. Maka dengan ini, hasil yang diperoleh mahasiswa telah memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan maksimal. Berdasarkan temuan di atas, peneliti menyakini bahwa meningkatkan kemampuan membaca cepat dengan penerapan metode SQ3R sangat efektif.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode At-Tasywiq dan At-Tadzkir dengan pemberian motivasi dan peringatan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik yang dianalisis berdasarkan syair-syair motivasi Sayyid Idrus bin Salim Aljufri. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis riset kepustakaan (library research) atau studi pustaka yaitu penelitian dengan pengumpulan dan pengolahan data pustaka dari berbagai literatur. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu sumber data primer dan sekunder dari buku-buku, jurnal dan tulisan-tulisan utama dan pendukung lainnya. Teknik pengumpulan data bersumber dari data primer dan data sekunder. Analisis data menggunakan analisis konten (content analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode Al-Tasywiq dan Al-Tadzkir dengan pemberian motivasi dan peringatan melalui syair-syair motivasi yang mengandung nilai-nilai universal Sayyid Idrus bin Salim Aljufri berperan meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Metode Al-Tasywiq dan Al-Tadzkir berdasarkan perspektif psikologis diterapkan melalui pembelajaran behavioral, humanistik, kognitif dan sosial. Kata kunci: Metode Al-Tasywiq dan Al-Tadzkir, Motivasi belajar, Syair-syair Motivasi Sayyid Idrus bin Salim AlJufri.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo Selatan on the material of writing personal letters. There are several things that cause these problems, including: 1) students do not understand the concepts being taught and 2) the methods used by teachers in carrying out learning make students less active, also of course other factors. This research was conducted with the aim of improving the ability of students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo to write personal letters through the guided practice method. Benefits Improve student learning outcomes, especially learning to write personal letters and hone the ability to work alone through exercises under the guidance of the teacher, and do not feel neglected by the teacher because they are still monitored in carrying out their duties. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Abstract

This research is titled: ‘’Code Switching and Code Mixing Teacher and Students Interaction at SMK Negeri 1 Palu’’. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the form of code switching and code mixing in teacher and student interactions at SMK Negeri 1 Palu, (2) to know function of code switching and code mixing, (3) to describe the factors that influence code switching and code mixing in teacher and student interactions during the learning process teach in the class. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Palu with the research subject being an English teacher. The research is focused on the phenomenon of code switching and code mixing in the interaction of teachers with students during teaching and learning in the classroom and the factors that influence them. The results of the study show that: (1) the form of teacher code switching consists of two parts, namely the language used in communication consists of formal and informal. In addition, the relationship between languages is in the form of code switching form English-Indonesian and Indonesian-English, (2) the functions code switching and code mixing in interaction teacher with students, (3) The factors that influence code switching and code mixing are the realitonship between the speaker and the speech partner, the change in the situasion from formal to informal or vice versa, and changes in the topic of conversation
