Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi keterampilan menetapkan tujuan, regulasi diri akademik, resiliensi akademik, efikasi diri akademik, dan motivasi berprestasi pada prestasi belajar secara sendiri-sendiri, dan mengetahui seberapa besar kontribusi variabel-variabel tersebut secara bersama-sama pada prestasi belajar. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kausal komparatif. Sampel ditarik dari 27 SMP Negeri di Kota Malang dengan teknik multistage random sampling, dan diperoleh jumlah sampel sekolah sebesar 4 sekolah dan sampel siswa sebanyak 340. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan skala pengukuran keterampilan menetapkan tujuan, skala pengukuran regulasi diri akademik, skala pengukuran resiliensi akademik, skala pengukuran efikasi diri akademik, dan skala pengukuran motivasi berprestasi; sedangkan data prestasi akademik diperoleh melalui dokumen nilai Ulangan Tengah Semester sebelum memperoleh tindakan pengajaran remidi mata-mata pelajaran Matematika, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial. Data-data tersebut kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hanya efikasi diri akademik yang memberi kontribusi pada prestasi akademik; sedangkan keterampilan menetapkan tujuan, regulasi diri akademik, resiliensi akademik, motivasi berprestasi tidak memberi kontribusi pada prestasi akademik. Variabel-variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini secara bersama-sama memberi kontribusi hanya sebesar 2,8%.  The contribution of cognitive factors on the learning achievements of elementary school students AbstractThis study was intended to invent effective contribution of goal setting skill, academic self-regulation, academic resilience, academic self-efficacy, and achievement motivation to academic achievement. Causal comparative design was applied to find the aim of the study. Sample was taken from 4 schools, out of 27 state secondary schools at Kota Malang, using multistage random technique. The instruments used to collect data were: goal setting skill scale, academic self-regulation scale, academic resilience scale, academic self-efficacy scale, and achievement motivation scale, and student achievement score. Data of academic achievement was taken by calculating mean of mathematics, Bahasa Indonesia, English, Social Science, Science score of mid-semester test. Data was analyzed by multiple regression. Result of this study showed only academic self-efficacy contribute to academic achievement, whereas other variables does not. The fourth independent variables, all together, contribute only 2.8%.

Abstract

This study aims to reduce stress in the completion of thesis through peer tutoring method in student of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, UNY. This research is a classroom action research. The research subjects were 70 Guidance and Counseling Study Program students. Sampling techniques used purposive technique. Data collection used stress scale in the completion of thesis and observation guideline. The result of the pretest with the scale of stress in the completion of the thesis obtained a number of 14 students who were given an action. Data analysis technique used quantitative technique. The results showed a decrease in stress level in Guidance and Counseling student through peer tutoring method. This was indicated by the pretest average score of 104.8 (high category). After being given the action in cycle I, the average post test I score was 90.3 (medium category). This means that in cycle I there was a decrease in the average score of 14.5%. Provision of action continued in cycle II with the result of post test II obtained an average score of 72.2 (low category). This means that in cycle II there is a decrease in the average score of 18.1%. The decrease in the average score in the post test I and II obtained a total of 32.6%.

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the influence of the problem-focused coping strategy on academic stress decrease of VIII Grade students in junior high schools. The study is a quantitative research using quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. During the conduct of the study, the population of the participants was 180 students and the samples were gathered from the population by means of purposive sampling technique. The total number of the sample was 10 students, consisting of 5 students as the members of the experimental group and 5 students as the members of the control group. Then, the instrument that had been implemented in the group was the academic stress scale. On the other hand, the data analysis technique that had been implemented in the study was the non-parametric statistics namely the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study show that the problem-focused coping strategy has influence on academic stress decrease with the rate of significance 5% (sig. = 0.042, p < 0.05). Therefore, it might be safely concluded that the problem-focused coping strategy has influence on the academic stress decrease among the Grade VIII students in junior high schools.

Abstract

In the last decade, the problem of child sexual violence is very prevalent, therefore the need for the application of sex education in elementary school children. This is done to provide knowledge about sex education that is tailored to the stage of child development and to avoid the danger of predators of violence and sexual abuse. Providing knowledge about sex education will be better if there are supporting media in its delivery. Regarding the good media in teaching sex education to elementary school children there are currently two namely electronic and print media. Although there are two media to introduce sex education, but they have not shown maximum results, both media have their advantages and disadvantages. This paper aims to review the literature in the delivery of sex education in elementary schools using electronic and print media. The results or reviews in this discussion are expected to provide information that can be used as a theoretical and methodological basis for further research in the use of sex education delivery media for elementary students.

Abstract

Career is a lifelong process that an individual will experience throughout his or her life. In relation to the statement, the study aims at depicting the development of career introduction into the Kindergarten Unit, namely in one of the kindergartens located in the City of Lubuklinggau, Province of South Sumatra. During the conduct of the study, the subjects that had been selected were 8 kindergarten students in the Nursery grade (two- to three-years old), 10 kindergarten students in the Kindergarten One Grade (three- to four-years old) and 2 classroom teachers. The type of the study was a qualitative study and the data were gathered by means of participatory observation. After the data had been gathered, the data were analysed by means of Miles & Huberman qualitative data analysis model. After the study has been conducted, the results show that: (1) the Kindergarten Unit that has served as the research site already has thematic learning about career introduction; (2) the mechanism implementation of the thematic learning has not stimulated the career introduction to the students; (3) the material components of the career introduction have not been in accordance to the knowledge of the ideal career and the needs of the kindergarten students; (4) the readiness of the kindergarten teachers in preparing the learning materials has not been ideal; (5) there have been weaknesses on the media of career introduction which leads to the unideal situations among the kindergarten students; and (6) there should be school support toward the upgrade and the completeness of the thematic learning of the career introduction. Through the conduct of the study, it is expected that the mechanism of ideal career introduction in the school might stimulate information in accordance to the characteristics of the students so that the preferences toward the knowledge of career introduction might be early established for the next period.

Abstract

The Sports Education learning program evaluation has not been completely implemented. In relation to the statement, the study aims at evaluating the Sports Education learning program in Senior High School degree. Within the conduct of the study, the evaluation involved the CIPP model. Then, the informants for the study consisted of principals, vice principals, 2 Sports Education teachers and 10 students from each of Grade X, Grade XI and Grade XII. The data were gathered by means of interview, observation and documentation. For the data analysis technique, the researcher adopted the descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the assessment in the study show that the results of context evaluation have already contained the Core Competence and the Basic Competence from 2013 Curriculum. The Components of Input have been good and the learning process of Soccer has been well-performing. Furthermore, the Components of Output show that the mean score of Core Competence 1 and Core Competence 2 belong to the “Good” category, Core Competence 3 belongs to the “Very Good” category (82.24) and Core Competence 4 belongs to the “Good” category (80.50). Therefore, it might be concluded that the Sports Education learning program in Senior High School has been well implemented. Thus, it is recommended that the Sports Education learning program should be continued with several revisions on the process.

Abstract

Games, such as the traditional ones, might be benefitted as an alternative media for the delivery of Guidance and Counseling service. With regards to the statement, one of the peculiar games in Indonesia is Tangkap Lokam. Through the conduct of the study, the elements of leadership will be described through the conduct of the Tangkap Lokam games. Then, within the conduct of the study, the qualitative approach using the symbolic interactionism method had been implemented and the study itself took place in the 5th State Junior High School Tarakan. The results of the study show that the construction within the Tangkap Lokam game has implications that might improve the leadership of the students.

Abstract

This study indents to investigate students’ perception of problem-solving skill and influence of Schoology on students’ ability to solve problems used in the criminal course in tertiary education. In reality, this course requires many activities involving students to solve various types of cases. This study used the quasi-experimental method at the class of criminal law. The students were from the Faculty of Law taking a 14 week enrolled in the Criminal course in the second semester. The instruments in this study were test and questionnaire.  Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. The overall, There are significant differences in problem-solving skills between the students who learn the material of solubility and constant solubility product using Problem-solving learning model through Schoology in the learning activities. Furthermore, this learning model can also be applied to overcome the lack of time allocation for face-to-face learning.

Abstract

Students have Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) which can motivate themselves to arrange personal goals, plan strategies done to achieve the goal, until to evaluate the behaviors. Besides that, students can be more responsible to themselves so that the learning independence of students can be formed. This research aimed to investigate the level of SRL and learning independence of elementary school students, and to investigate the influence of SRL towards the learning independence of elementary school students. This research used a quantitative approach with the comparative research design. The population in this research was 387 students with the sample used was 194 students taken randomly using Slovin’s formula. The instrument used in this research consisted of 24 questions by using 4-point Likert Scale. The data collection technique was used by comparing SRL of students. The data analysis was conducted by SPSS version 24. The finding of the research showed that SLR and learning independence of elementary school students was on the category medium and has a tcount of 8,516. In addition, the F-test result obtained was 240, 783. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between SRL and the learning independence of elementary school students. The futher reasearch must be based on previous studies. The influence of SRL on student independence and the factors that influence needed to described more comperhensive.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication has been widely studied and proven to be an important skill possessed by school counselor. Interpersonal communication skills are activities that transfer certain information appropriately by the context of the communication. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in interpersonal communication skills of students majoring in guidance and counseling. The subjects of this study were students of the guidance and counseling department at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, who enrolled in the year 2017, 2018 and 2019. The research method used was quantitative research methods. Data analysis was performed using One-way Anova.The results of this study show that there is no difference in the interpersonal communication skills based on semester level.
