Abstract

Foot SPA is a treatment for the Making Pregnancy Saver (MPS) program to nourish the skin on the feet, relieve fatigue or as a relaxation technique, and reduce swelling of the feet. The aim of this community service is to determine the effect of the effectiveness of foot SPA on the intensity of labor pain in the active phase of the first stage at BPM Midwife Ani Karawang. The method is a type of experimental community service in the form of Pre-Experimental Designs. The community service design is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study was 60 mothers giving birth. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The samples in this study were 38 samples according to the criteria. Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results of community service from 38 respondents showed that the percentage of labor pain intensity in the first active phase before the foot SPA was carried out at BPM Midwife Ani Karawang was 78.9% (severe pain). The percentage of intensity of labor pain in the first active phase after a foot SPA was performed at BPM Midwife Ani Karawang was 71.1% (moderate pain). The Wilcoxon Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) test value is 0.000, so H0 fails to be rejected, meaning that foot SPA is effective on the intensity of labor pain during the first active phase at BPM Midwife Ani Karawang. In conclusion, foot SPA is effective for the intensity of labor pain in the active phase of the first stage at BPM Midwife Ani Karawang.

Abstract

Childbirth is a natural process in which a mother gives birth to her baby. In some cases, normal delivery can turn into Sectio Caesarea (SC) delivery, namely via caesarean section, which involves an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. The high rate of SC births is a concern in many countries, including Indonesia, because it can have significant health and economic impacts on mothers and babies. To determine the factors indicating pregnancy, parity and the psychology of normal labor pain on the incidence of section cesarean delivery (SC) at the Jakarta Harbor Hospital in 2024. The sample size in this study used all maternal patients who visited the Jakarta Harbor Hospital based on secondary data on mothers giving birth at the Jakarta Harbor Hospital recorded from January to December 2023 totaling 180 people.  The sampling technique is non-probability sampling with a purposive method. The data used is primary data obtained from the results of a questionnaire asking about indications of pregnancy, parity and the psychology of normal labor pain. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test. There is a relationship between indications of pregnancy, parity and the psychology of normal labor pain on the incidence of Sectio Caesarea (SC) delivery at Jakarta Harbor Hospital with a P-value < 0.005. It is hoped that all health workers will pay attention to the health of women giving birth and attempts at SC delivery to prevent risks occurring during delivery.

Abstract

Age at risk < 21 years and > 35 years for first pregnancy, short birth spacing, and nutritional status at risk, namely thin, fat and obese can increase the risk of Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Hormonal changes, differences in body response, and nutritional deficiencies can play a role in the appearance of severe symptoms of nausea and vomiting in Hyperemesis Gravidarum. To determine the factors that age, parity, birth spacing and nutritional status influence the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in 1st trimester pregnant women at the Tambun Utara Community Health Center in 2024. The sample size in this study used a total of 58 pregnant women in the 1st trimester based on secondary data from the North Tambun Health Center KIA polyclinic as of January - December 2023 which was taken using total sampling. The analysis method used is univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test. There is a relationship between birth spacing and nutritional status with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in 1st trimester pregnant women with a P-value < 0.005. However, there is no relationship between maternal age and parity with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in 1st trimester pregnant women at the Tambun Utara Community Health Center in 2024 with a p value > 0.05. It is hoped that all health workers will pay attention to the health of pregnant women, especially those who experience hyperemesis gravidarum which triggers Hyperemesis Gravidarum incidents in 1st Trimester Pregnant Women, one of which is birth spacing and nutritional status.
