Abstract

Strengthening the womanfarmers group institution is important as an effort to ensure the sustainability of the KWT business, especially from an economic perspective, in order to increase the income of women who generally work as daily laborers (local term: mreman). The sustainability of this business is strongly supported by strong social capital, meaning that there is a close link between social capital and business sustainability. This institutional strengthening was carried out through lectures and informal discussions by inviting resource persons from KWT who were more advanced as a source of inspiration for KWT Sekar Sari. Meanwhile, intervention from the marketing side was carried out to expand the market for instant herbal products into 5 variants by utilizing social media networks. The intervention in the form of packaging was carried out as an attraction for consumers considering that packaging is still very simple. The aim of this service activity is; 1) so that KWT Sekar Sari is strong from an institutional perspective so that members who join are active, 2) improve the quality of packaging so that instant herbal medicine products attract consumer interest., 3) improve the skills of KWT members and administrators in photographing products; 4) introduce instant herbal medicine products through digital platforms by utilizing social media to expand the marketing area. The solutions offered to overcome partner problems are: 1) Strengthening the KWT Sekar Sari institution; 2) Expanding the marketing of instant herbal medicine products through social media networks, and 3) Improving the quality of product packaging.

Abstract

Women's empowerment and environmental management are two important issues in sustainable development. Dharma Wanita Association (DWA) Probolinggo City responded to these two issues through creative training in making decorative flowers from used spunbond bags. This training aims to teach DWA members how to utilize spunbond bags, which often accumulate in households due to the policy to reduce the use of plastic bags, into economically valuable craft products. Apart from supporting policies to reduce plastic waste, this training also functions as a means of empowering women by increasing their skills and creativity in the field of handicrafts. The results of this activity are not only environmentally friendly decorative flower products, but also the potential for further development in the field of recycling-based crafts. This training opens up opportunities for participants to develop small businesses based on recycled products, as well as expand networks with other communities that support the waste management movement. In addition, the potential for this activity can be integrated with environmental education and adopted as a sustainable program to increase environmental awareness in society. With increasing awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, recycling-based training like this has bright prospects and can become a model for similar activities in the future. This activity not only provides economic and social benefits for DWA members, but also contributes to global efforts to reduce the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment.

Abstract

Diaper waste is one of the wastes that is difficult to decompose by soil microbes. The decomposition process takes up to hundreds of years. The large amount of diaper waste that is disposed of carelessly can have a negative impact on the environment. Diaper waste can be used to make useful products. The absorbent gel can be used as plant fertilizer. The gel is very good at absorbing water so that it can retain soil moisture and become a nutrient for plants. However, not many people know the impact of diaper waste and do not know that diaper waste can be made into useful products. There needs to be knowledge about the negative impacts of diaper waste that can pollute the environment. Then continued with the socialization of diaper waste management into plant fertilizer for residents of RT 01/ RW 02 Bojong Indah Village, Parung District, Bogor Regency. The implementation method used is to provide socialization and provide guidance on the stages of processing diaper waste into plant fertilizer.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most common diseases found in society. Hypertension can occur because there is a wrong lifestyle that a person has lived before. Uncontrolled blood pressure can make the condition worse and lead to fatal complications and even death. Efforts can be made to improve the health status of the community in the sub-district, Bandung Regency by providing health services at the community level. The implementation of empowering hypertension care groups is expected to increase knowledge, attitudes and treatment related to hypertension. The implementation of this community service uses a community-based educational programme approach with the formation of community groups that care about hypertension in the sub-district, Bandung district. The research method used in this community service activity uses one group pre post design methodology with consecutive sampling technique. In addition, this activity aims to form hypertension care groups within cadres and community leaders who are measured for knowledge and attitudes before and after receiving hypertension health education. The results of this community service activity are significant differences in knowledge about hypertension (P Value 0.001) and attitudes about hypertension (P Value 0.001) in hypertension care groups about hypertension before and after participating in this community service activity (P Value <0, 05). Through this community service, a hypertension care group was formed consisting of health cadres and residents of the sub-district, Bandung district itself. This hypertension care group has a programme related to health improvement and can take blood pressure measurements independently. Through the formation of community-based hypertension care groups, it is hoped that this activity can be applied independently by the community through programmes from community groups that can have an impact on improving the health status of the community in the District, Bandung Regency.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools in Bantul face significant challenges in adopting productivity technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) for administrative tasks due to limitations in staff knowledge, infrastructure, and concerns about data security. To address these issues, a Community Service Program (PkM) was implemented to enhance administrative staff competencies through targeted training and mentoring. The program, conducted from June 13 to 20, 2024, at SD Muhammadiyah Tamantirto, involved 29 participants. It featured seminars, practical training, and hands-on mentoring focused on the application of productivity tools and AI in administrative workflows. Key activities included website development, data organization, and practical skill-building sessions, reinforced by pre-tests, post-tests, and participant satisfaction surveys to evaluate learning outcomes. The program successfully improved participants' ability to utilize modern technologies, fostering innovation and increasing administrative efficiency within the schools. The initiative highlights the potential for structured training and mentoring programs to overcome barriers to technology adoption in educational settings, contributing to the overall quality of school management and service delivery.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a person's ability to understand science, communicate science, and apply scientific knowledge in solving problems encountered in everyday life. Scientific literacy is an important thing for students to have in facing increasingly rapid developments. The level of scientific literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low compared to other countries, one of the reasons is the lack of wise use of the convenience and sophistication of technology for productive activities (Fitriyani, et al., 2020). This is in line with the results of observations at the two partner schools are SMP N 11 Magelang and SMP N 13 Magelang, that the implementation of scientific literacy in the two partner schools is not optimal, so scientific literacy training is still needed for students. Based on these problems, the aim of this community service activity is to train students to understand scientific literacy and be able to apply it in everyday life. The method used in this activity is training (lectures and practice) involving students directly. This activity was carried out in 2 meetings for each partner school. First meeting providing material and the second meeting practicing scientific literacy questions. At the second meeting, apart from practicing questions, students were also asked to fill out a response questionnaire to the activities they had carried out. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis, it is known that students feel happy and are motivated to learn science by participating in training activities, so it can be concluded that the activities were carried out well.
