Abstract

Sleep is one of the basic human needs. The need for sleep for all ages differs. Sleep disorders can occur in children with manifestations of difficulty in starting to sleep and maintaining sleep. One way to overcome baby sleep disorders is with Massage (touch). Touching the baby's skin will stimulate blood circulation and add more oxygen wave energy to the brain, improving the circulation and respiration systems. The feeling of comfort and relaxation from massage will enhance sleep quality in infants aged 0-6 months. This baby massage stimulates the nervous and respiratory systems and smooths blood circulation. Massage can stimulate hormones, affecting the body's work systems, such as sleep patterns, and can help babies with difficulty sleeping soundly. This Community Service aims to show that baby massage can improve sleep quality in infants aged 0-6 months. The method used in community service was to massage babies aged 0-6 months for two weeks. The massage was carried out continuously and continued independently by mothers at home to improve sleep quality in infants aged 0-6 months. Results obtained after massage on babies aged 0-3 months for two weeks showed that the average sleep time of babies increased by 96 minutes, while the average sleep time of babies aged 4-6 months was 115 minutes. It shows that baby massage dramatically influences the quality of baby sleep. Conclusion: This baby massage is an effort made to improve the quality of baby sleep because it is essential for their growth and development.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood. Adolescence needs to be accompanied in such a way because adolescents are still looking for their identity. Drinking alcohol and smoking are considered commonplace behaviors for adolescents, whereas in fact, if this is not properly supervised, it will be very prone to falling into juvenile delinquency. Based on the results of the study, problems that occur in adolescents were identified, namely the high smoking behavior and consumption of alcohol in adolescents. As an effort to overcome these problems, promotional and educational activities related to "Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency" were given to youth members of youth organizations in Jayaraga Village, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency. The community service activity method uses three phases which include needs analysis, implementation, and evaluation. The results obtained from this promotion and education activity are the increased knowledge of participants related to the impact of delinquency on adolescents, based on the results of the post-test analysis that has been done by the promotion and education participants. It is hoped that after this promotion and education activity, the participants can maintain their relationships and the surrounding environment and can share the knowledge they have gained with teenagers who have not had the opportunity to attend promotion and education or other people around them.

Based on the results of community service in socialization and education activities, it shows that the participants, namely the Bintalahe village community, are very enthusiastic and understand about potential disasters and how to deal with them. This is reflected in the dialog and question and answer activities during the activity stages. The education delivered in person was very interesting and important because it increased the knowledge and skills needed to deal with natural disasters including knowledge of emergency response actions, evacuation plans, and survival skills. Encouraging them to change to more sustainable behaviors to reduce plastic waste, wise use of natural resources, and other practices that support environmental conservation. Local wisdom-based disaster mitigation has the potential to improve community preparedness and response to disasters by utilizing local knowledge and culture. Disaster simulation is a very important and useful activity for students of SDN 3 Kabila Bone because students are trained to react quickly and not panic when a disaster occurs, which can save their lives and others. Local wisdom-based disaster mitigation has improved the community's understanding of risks and provided a sense of ownership of mitigation actions.

Abstract

Education is a conscious effort to improve knowledge, skills and shape students' character. Education does not only prioritize cognitive skills but also combines several elements to become a person who believes and is devoted to God Almighty. In the context of basic education, the foundation that must be instilled is student character supported by cognitive knowledge such as writing, reading and basic knowledge. Seeing the reality, not all elementary school students can read or spell as expected, as is the phenomenon found in elementary schools in the Jember district. To overcome this, a training activity was carried out using exaples and nonexaples methods to increase students' knowledge and skills in reading. This activity method is carried out through training and simulations for students starting with the planning stage, implementing activities, and evaluating post-training activities. The results of this activity showed that there were around 26 elementary school students who could not read and spell well and correctly. Apart from that, teachers' knowledge and skills have increased in guiding students to be able to read and spell using exaples and nonexaples methods.

Literacy culture is still a hot topic to discuss. Unfortunately, in Indonesia, the culture of literacy is still low and has not yet become a social culture. To be able to keep up with the times, students must have basic abilities, namely literacy and numeracy.
