Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic impacts maternal psychological problems with an increasing prevalence of symptoms of depression and anxiety. In Branch Aisyiyah Demangan and Sapen DIY, activities were stopped during the pandemic, considering that many of the members were elderly and were in the red zone in June 2021. On this basis, it is necessary to carry out stimulus activities that can be carried out during a pandemic. This activity aims to know mental health conditions by screening mental health, promoting mental health, and using and managing traditional medicines for relaxants. The methods used in this activity are mental health screening, mental health counseling and training, presentation of herbal medicines with the right dose, and making herbal medicine that meets the standards of the Health Office. Activities are carried out online, starting with pretest, delivery of material, mental health screening, management of traditional medicinal plants, post-test. The analysis of the results was carried out by performing a paired t-test statistical test. The pretest and post-test results showed an increase from 82±0.55 to 93±0.84. Psychologically and emotionally, most respondents experienced complaints of fatigue (73.1%), followed by complaints of difficulty understanding feelings (46.2%), then complaints of anxiety, tension, or worry (42.3%). Screening results show that one respondent has a mild mental problem.

Abstract

The socialization of patchouli cultivation was conducted at Forest Park (Tahura) K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunagoro I, located at Mount Lawu, in Berjo Village, Ngargoyoso District Karanganyar Regency. Tahura K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunagoro I was divided into several zones. The most critical zone for the local community is the traditional zone. So far, the traditional zone was used by the community/forest farmers (pengaram) to plant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) under the main stand. The grass was planted mainly for animal feed or sale. During the dry season, the main problem was that the grass did not grow well. Thus, forest farmers do not have additional income from the traditional zone. For this reason, it was necessary to enrich understorey species that mainly have high economic and ecological values. One of the potential plants to be developed understands at traditional zone was patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.). Patchouli is an essential oil-producing plant. It is easy to cultivate and has high economic value. The purpose of this community service was to provide knowledge to forest farmers about patchouli plants. The activities carried out in this program were providing counseling to forest farmers about the theory related to patchouli cultivation and its benefits, business opportunities, oil processing, and mentioned costs and income from patchouli cultivation. The result shows that the knowledge about patchouli cultivation was new for the forest farmers. Forest farmers and Tahura K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunagoro I staff showed interest in cultivating patchouli under forest stands in traditional zones.

Abstract

Nutritional fulfillment is one of the essential factors to prevent the Covid-19 disease. The term balanced nutrition consists of several points: balanced consumption of staple food, the source of protein, fruit, and vegetables, and also drinking an adequate amount of water. Several specific nutrients are also involved in strengthening the immune system, such as vitamin A, C, E, B6, folic acid, zinc, selenium, and iron. The balanced diet practices are affected by nutrition knowledge and further underlined the importance of an educational approach to knowledge improvement of its principles to prevent Covid-19 disease. The intervention conducted through an online meeting platform with a pre-post test was applied to measure the level of knowledge. There were 92 participants in this international event, with the knowledge score improvement was 25% higher than the pre-test mean score. The highest rose was in the vegetables daily intake recommendation and the highest vitamin C source. In conclusion, sustainable educational intervention is important to improve the community’s knowledge about a balanced diet that plays a role in Covid-19 disease prevention.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 outbreak, it is essential to maintain faith and a happy soul; it is also necessary to maintain our health immunity. The body's immunity can be supported by consuming healthy food and a balanced diet. Consumption of additional supplements from chemical medicine cause side effects if consumed overdoses. By utilizing the land yard for the cultivation of herbal plants, it can be used as an alternative solution to reduce the consumption of chemical drugs, in line with the problems faced by the program partner nursery, which has an extensive collection of medicinal plants but does not yet know the efficacy of each type of plant. The community service program during the pandemic was carried out through limited counseling to 30 health cadres of Margomulyo village. The method used in this activity is public education through lectures, questions, and discussions. Participants were also given a pocketbook "List of Herbal Plants and their benefits and also given plant seeds. Participants' level of knowledge was measured using a questionnaire given before and after the lecture. From the results, it can be seen that there is an increase in the understanding of the participant's post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. Participants' increased knowledge about family medicinal plants was expected to share the knowledge with the broader community and apply the cultivation of herbal plants inland around the house.

Abstract

Human curiosity about something will always increase the level of knowledge because everything known is knowledge. Such is knowledge, along with the times, information technology has become one of the influential factors in business success because of its advantages in facilitating work in everyday life. Everything related to the process, implementation as a tool, manipulation, and information management is a function of information technology. Without the help of information technology in the business world, it can make the promotion of a product less competitive with other competitors, weaken marketing management, worsen the company's infrastructure, and experience difficulties in running the business. This activity aims to see the level of public knowledge related to information technology, which is very helpful in daily life. This service uses a descriptive survey method associated with the level of general knowledge about information technology with a measuring instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to the public through webinar activities with random sampling so that 290 respondents are obtained consisting of students, private workers, and so on. Based on the results, it is known that as many as 73.6% of respondents have understood how to apply information technology. As many as 60% of respondents stated that information technology is fundamental in everyday life because it can facilitate all existing work. Most people in Samarinda already know how to apply and the importance of this information technology in promoting their work.

Abstract

The production of tempe by AULIA has created a new problem of smelly liquid waste. This problem may be overcome by converting the waste to organic liquid fertilizer for healthy vegetable cultivation. In this project, the women employee of AULIA tempe producer were trained in a program to utilize tempe liquid waste for healthy vegetable cultivation. The objective of this project was to improve their awareness of the environmental problem and convert such waste for healthy vegetable production. The activities during the training included counseling, training, and assistance in the production of activators, healthy vegetable cultivation by utilizing organic liquid fertilizer made of tempe liquid waste. The training was evaluated by conducting pre-and post-test to view the trainee's capability in absorbing the training program. Following the training, the trainee demonstrated their ability to absorb the training program as evidenced by their improved knowledge of the use of liquid organic waste (POC) by 34.4% and enhanced skill of organic liquid fertilizer and healthy vegetable cultivation by 66.7%. The result of the training program was the production of an organic liquid fertilizer marked as POCUMY. It was also found that POCUMY increased the show's healthy appearance of collards, chili, tomato, and eggplant. The training program conducted in this project has undoubtedly improved the trainee's skill in producing organic liquid waste and its use as a fertilizer for vegetable cultivation for family consumption.

Abstract

Rice production in Muhammadiyah Godean farmers is still low at around 5 tons/ha. One of the problems is the use of seeds that are too old, the growth power is low, so it requires large amounts of seeds. The solution is to be given the understanding and skills in seed selection using a salt solution so that the seeds are pithy, have high growth power, and are efficient. The purpose of empowering Muhammadiyah Godean farmers is to increase their knowledge and skills regarding seed selection using the salt solution in System of Rice Intensification (SRI) rice cultivation. The Direct Learning method is applied in program implementation. The activities carried out include counseling, training, and assistance during seed selection, testing for growth power, and seed quality. The evaluation results using pre and post-tests showed that 53% of farmers had already known the salt selection method but had not been able to do it (53%) and were very eager to learn (80%). After counseling, there was an increase in understanding of 47%. The program results stated that all farmers understood (100%) and could select seeds using the salt solution method, and 73% found it easy. SRI rice cultivation with the initial stages of seed selection with the salt solution selection method can be obtained seed efficiency of about 60-75%.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Anggrek in Parangtritis Village, in responding to the covid-19 pandemic, has adapted learning for students by carrying out an assignment learning program from home, which is regularly given assignments every week on Mondays. The problem that arises from this learning system is the accumulation of files resulting from student assignments that require storage and management, which is quite inconvenient for teachers. This community service offers and implements a learning document digitization program to address existing problems. This service program is carried out using an institutional approach method, through three main activities, namely objectification in the preparation of digital document management steps; externalization in the form of focus group discussions for managers and related stakeholders; and internalization in the form of coaching for PAUD management trainers and several hamlet cadres. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in the effectiveness of managing learning documents, namely the reduction of files that had to be physically stored by 90% from the amount usually held in the previous PAUD office.

Abstract

Training on Making E-Modules with Flipbooks for Teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Palangkaraya City. The service activity carried out was training in making flipbook media for Teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Palangkaraya. The partner of the service activities carried out is Teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Palangkaraya. Based on the interviews with the Chief Principal and Secretary of Education and Culture, there has never been any training on learning media, especially flipbooks and as many as 85% of teachers have never used digital media in learning. Based on these problems, the service activities carried out offer comprehensive training starting from understanding media literacy, the importance of learning media, providing material on flipbook media, how to make flipbook media according to the steps described and how to use flipbook media in learning. Service activities are carried out in September-November 2021 with the online and offline methods. The output targets of service activities carried out are in the form of services and publications. The service output is in the form of material exposure through training on making flipbook media. The steps taken in this service activity are Exposure to material about media literacy, Exposure to material about learning media, Exposure to material about flipbook media, making flipbook media, Application of flipbook media. The publication output in the form of the result of making e-modules using flipbooks is simply online.

Abstract

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb. Dear reader, now PengabdianMu: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat re-published on Volume 7 Issue 1 January 2022. This edition marks a change in publication frequency from four times to six times a year. The publication of PengabdianMu: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat certainly participates in disseminating the results of community services in science and technology development conducted by lecturers and researchers especially from UMPR and other universities. This edition contains 17 articles consisting of Education, Social and Political, Agriculture, and Health Science topics. Editorial boards are fully aware that there is still room for improvement in this edition, hence with all humility willing to accept constructive suggestions and feedback for improvements to the publication for the next editions. The editorial board would like to thank the University, all editors and reviewers, and contributors of the scientific articles who have provided the repertoire in this issue.
