Abstract

Nowadays advertising is a field that is progressing rapidly and is quite popular majors marked by numerous educational institutions both private and the country that opened specialization advertising. One of the positions in the field of advertising that quite popular is Art Director. The skill of art directing is a bit much has been represented in the department of Visual Communication Design or Graphic design. But it is sometimes still confused between the duties and role of an art director and a graphic designer. This article gives a general overview of what is meant by Art Director as well as roles and duties.

Abstract

The goals of article was to explore students’ main motivation in learning Mandarin as second language acquisition and the difference motivation between Chinese-descending and non-chinese students. There were 276 respondents chosen by purposive sampling from three universities. They were students from Mandarin Department of Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Darma Persada University, Jakarta, and North Sumatera University, Medan. A cooperation on deciding research instruments was collaborated with Faculty of Tionghoa Language and Literature of Huaqiau University, China. Descriptive analysis was done to explore students’ main motivation in learning Mandarin, continued by different tests to know the different motivation between native and descending students. Research results indicated that the motivation in learning language is low; there is no significant difference between integrative and instrumental motivation. Also, there was no motivation significant different between chinese-descending dan non-chinese students in learning Mandarin. Lecturers should develop their methods of teaching to develop students’ learning motivation in learning Mandarin.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the validity, practicalities, and effectiveness development of student worksheet on materials economy based on problem solving for Junior High School students Yayasan Pendidikan Islam (YPI) Tunas Bangsa Palembang. This research was developed consisting of four stages; define, design, develop, and disseminate known as 4D development models. The instruments were the validation sheet, questionnaire, observation sheet, and test sheet. The research and development data consisted of the qualitativeand quantitative data. The qualitative data in the form of learning support facility, readability from the draft of student worksheet with problem-based instructions that were developed, and students’ response against using student worksheet with problem-based instructions. While the quantitative data was in the form of test results of student learning. Based on the results of this research, it concludes that the student developed worksheet with problem-based instruction is valid, practical, and effective, so it is very well used by the teacher as a supplement in teaching to complement the teaching materials in the learning process.

Abstract

Research on the adaptation process of students from other regions aim to answer fundamental things related to the adaptation process of students from other regions who are studying at Binus University. Appropriate adaptation process can help create conducive environment to achieve good quality of learning (good quality of education). With good adaptability, students are expected to graduate well too. Becoming excellent graduates are the dream of every student, parents and university as well as community and country. Research of adaptation process of students from other regions who are studying at Binus University was conducted with descriptive qualitative methodology, the data obtained through in-depth interviews in the field and then were exposed to inductive analysis through the stages planned. To support the study, data collection is done in the following way: observation, survey, search and find key informants, and conducted in-depth interviews. Once the data is collected and analyzed then the next step is to generate data on the final results report. Students who come from other regions view that the process of adaptation is important and should be done. What is important and should be done in an adaptation process includes several things, such as the distance between students’ new area of domicile to campus, social culture in students’ place of origin to the students’ new area of domicile, and the situation of environmental conditions (society) of students’ place of origin to students’ new domicile as well as individual specific views (attitudes and behaviors ). Students from other regions adapt in a variety of ways, ranging from respecting new area of domicile custom, getting involved in students’ activities in campus and to comply with regulations. Adaptation also needs to be done to the entire academic community, including with other related environment. From the results of the study also showed that students who come from other regions view adaptation process is associated with learning outcomes at the university.

Abstract

Graduate competencies are the combination of knowledge, skills or abilities that play important roles in the successful completion of a task at work. However, that does not mean graduate competencies are proven most in the job occupation. The assessment during four years of undergraduate program will be effective ways to assess the achievement of graduate competencies. In the curriculum process, the graduate competencies are broken down into some related learning outcomes. As the main aims, the learning outcomes should pass some assessment to see the achievement of them and get the feedback. The types of the assessment are based on the needs. The decision of this achievement is based on some analysis through various ways, including analytical rubric and checklist. The achievement of learning outcomes will be analyzed more to see how the graduate competencies have been achieved. The result of this analysis will be the basis of direct assessment of the graduate competencies that will result in the collection of evidences as the feedback of the improvement of the whole curriculum.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multi-ethnic, multi-culture, and multi-faith country. This piece of land combines a lot of ethnic elements into one. For example, Confucianism in Indonesia is combination of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism characteristic in many ways. Aim of this paper is to find out the features of Confucianism as a religion or a belief for its followers in Bangka. In addition, this paper also focuses on finding out the followers view towards their Gods in their perspectives. In this article, classification of Gods in Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism is presented based on direct social observation. In this paper, analysis of Confucian followers understanding towards Gods in Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism in Bangka Island Indonesia is presented respectively. In conclusion, characteristics of these three religions have blended perfectly and there is no more distinction in Confucius, Buddhist or Taoism Gods in Confucian followers’ community in Bangka Island.

Abstract

Amongst other things, Indonesian history was rife with religious conflicts. Religious differences had thus far been factored in the causes of intolerance amongst believers of different religions. This study examined how religious tolerance that was established in Sidoasri village where Christians and Muslims were living together. This research used a qualitative descriptive method, where it would describe and explain data from the subject research on the form of religious tolerance in Sidoasri village. The results of this research show that religious tolerance is always built through the long process by way of mediating various past conflicts. Religious dogma has never been a cause of intolerance. Social, cultural, political, and economic factors are decisive in founding religious tolerance.

Abstract

This research is to talk about the advantages of MoGraph as one reliability feature in 3D modeling application, 4D Cinema as the implemented example in Cinta Laura video clip. The advantage in MoGraph is the ability to create multiple object moving effect accordingly and (or) randomly easily and efficiently, also supported by the render quality of Cinema 4D that clean and relatively fast. The advantage made MoGraph Cinema 4D is suitable to use to enrich the visual effect a motion graphic work. The quality is hoped to support MoGraph usage as more creative. Regarding today’s visual variation is effected by the digital technology development, therefore the implementation of MoGraph Conema 4D is hoped to be optimally supporting creativity in making video clip in motion graphic art content.

Abstract

There are times where human relationships with the surrounding environment takes place in a state of balance, so as not to cause pressure against him for human life. But there is also time to balance the relationship is disturbed by various events that often exceed the limits of human adaptability. This last condition arises either by events beyond human control, such as natural disasters or events that arise as a result of human engagement itself, such as over-exploitation of nature and creation of various technology products. The events that happened outside the human self has become a source of stress, which is sometimes understood as external conditions that suppress human adaptation and demanding, and sometimes also understood as a human response to external conditions, which showed special signs, either on the physical, psychological as well as on the visible behavior. Faced with the events that potentially lead to stress, humans need to do assessments leading to a positive attitude toward the stimulus. In addition it should also be developed in ways that help to achieve the adaptation that produces a good balance and lower levels of stress itself. Better anticipation can also be reached in which humans make important changes, mainly related to the views and treatment of the natural environment, and attitudes in developing and utilizing technology, especially related to the negative impacts caused.

This article describes how the character educators in college should be educators who motivate and inspire. It is as a response to the challenges that the characters have already been formed in the students themselves. Article describes contemplation, principles, and patterns to be the educators of character who motivate and inspire character.
