Abstract

The Aedes aegypti mosquito can develop an immune system against the insecticide used. Control efforts with the use of insecticides are no longer effective if the target insects have become resistant. So there needs to be an effort to overcome the insect resistance that is targeted. Citronella grass is an herbal plant that can be used as an ingredient in vegetable pesticides. The leaves and stems are distilled to produce essential oil known as citronella oil. This research is about studying the effects of citronella oil against the resistance of the vector carrier for dengue fever, namely Aedes aegypti. The detection of citronella essential oil (Cymbopogon nardus L.) by Thin Layer Chromatography showed a reduction in UV254 visualization (Rf 0,68). The resistance test showed that the mortality percentage of adult mosquitoes Aedes aegypti exposed to 0.03% alphacymethrin was 73,7% resistant criteria (<90%). The mortality percentage of adult mosquitoes Aedes aegypti exposed to Alphacypermethrin (0,03%) and citronella oil was 2,5% each; 5%; 7,5% and 10% with treatment time 15 respectively, namely 18,7%, 50,7%, 70,7% and 82,7%; the treatment time of 30 minutes consecutively is 62,7%, 89,3%, 96% and 97,3% and the treatment time is 60 minutes respectively, namely 93,3%, 98,7%, 98,7% and 100%. There was an increase in the percentage of mosquito deaths exposed to the combination of alphacypermethrin and citronella oil, compared to those without citronella oil, this indicates that mosquitoes are more susceptible and resistance has decreased due to exposure to citronella oil.

Abstract

One of the factors that cause a decrease in productivity is the work environment load, namely physiological factors and the capacity of workers such as work nutrition intake. Static work that is carried out with a long duration and heavy workload will cause a contractionary effect on the muscles and cause pain which will have an impact on work productivity. PT Apac Inti Corpora Semarang, especially in the garment finishing section, does ironing work in a standing position for 8 hours of work and without additional food for workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of stretching and intake of bananas(Musa Textilia) toward the employee’s productivity in the garment finishing section, PT Apac Inti Corpora Semarang. This type of research is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study was 40 people and the sample was taken using the total sampling technique. The samples were divided into 4 groups, namely the intervention of stretching exercise group, intake of banana, stretching exercise and intake of bananas simultaneously, and the control group. Each group contains 10 respondents. Measurement of productivity variables uses the number of production targets for workers The results showed that there was an effect and increase in productivity (p-value=0,001) after intervening with stretching exercises and giving intake of bananas (Musa Textilia) simultaneously.

Abstract

Lack of research on formulation and evaluation of fragrance products (perfumes) in Indonesia and the need to improve the publication and branding of Tanjungkarang Health Polytechnic (Polkestanka) can be done through the development of perfume products according to climate characteristics in Indonesia. This research with quantitative experimental design aims to produce formulas and fragrance products (perfumes) type Eau de Toilette (EDT) that has the equivalent or better quality of branded perfumes on the markets. The Intervention has done by formulating perfume "Orange List" type EDT with 5 (five) series of fragrance ingredients 6-10% by Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 16-4949-1998 then compare it with positive control. The research was conducted from April 2020 until September 2020 at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Department of Polkestanka Pharmacy. The results organoleptically showed the entire formula produces 100% clarity, homogeneous 100%, particle-free 100%, and citrus smell. The density of all formulas meets the requirements, with the density largest in F5 of 0,86. The fragrance resistance test of the entire formula still smelled at the 4th hour and with the spot largest test result in F2 with a diameter of 75,59 mm.  The most preferred "Senarai Jingga" formula is F5 (60%). Kendall's W Test analysis obtained a significance of 0,016 that showed respondents preferred "Senarai Jingga" Perfume over positive control by the alignment of respondents judging the two perfumes to be significantly different. The later research suggests is that a favorite level test between “Senarai Jingga" Perfume and different positive controls (other brand perfumes) with citrus characteristics is required.

Abstract

Pregnant women are one of the vulnerable groups. During pregnancy, there is an increase in the need for nutrients to meet the needs of the mother and fetus as well as preparation for labor. It is very important to pay attention to the recommended weight gain during pregnancy to prevent the occurrence of low birth weight. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between energy, carbohydrate, fat, and protein intake on weight gain of pregnant women in the city of Bengkulu. The design of this study was a cross-sectional study with a total sample of 47 pregnant women who had received an education of the first thousand days of life when registering to become a prospective bride at the Religious Affairs Office. As many as 53.2% of mothers had good weight gain and had a relationship between energy intake (p-value 0,032), carbohydrate intake (p-value 0,024), protein intake (p-value 0,039), and fat intake (p-value 0,023). Energy and macronutrients have a relationship with the weight gain of pregnant women in the group of preconception couples who have received education about the first 1000 days of life. It is hoped that pregnant women will be able to control their weight during pregnancy and apply the knowledge that has been obtained through education while preconception age.
