Abstract

One of the factors causing the high prevalence of anemia is the low compliance of pregnant women in consuming iron during pregnancy. The compliance of pregnant women in consuming iron during pregnancy cannot be separated from the level of knowledge that pregnant women have. This study aims to analyze the relationship between compliance with iron tablet consumption and the level of knowledge of pregnant women. This type of research is an analytical study with a survey method with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted on July 1-August 15, 2020, which was conducted at BPS Ernawati, Laren District, Lamongan Regency, with 21 respondents. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. Data analysis used fisher exact correlation test. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the majority had less knowledge about the importance of consuming iron tablets, namely as many as 10 respondents (47,6%). The majority of respondents did not comply with the consumption of iron tablets (57,1%). The majority of respondents with insufficient knowledge were not obedient, (38,1%), the majority of respondents with sufficient knowledge, were obedient as (19,1%), while the majority of respondents with high knowledge were obedient, (14,3%), and based on the statistical test results obtained p-value (0,033). This study concludes that there is a relationship between compliance with iron tablet consumption on the level of knowledge of pregnant women at BPS Diana Ernawati.

The design of this study used a descriptive correlation method with a cross-sectional approach, a total sample of 191 respondents with a total sampling technique, and the data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank (Rho). Data collection using an online-based questionnaire (google form) regarding knowledge, attitudes, and actions regarding the implementation of health protocols. The results of the analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between knowledge and attitudes toward the implementation of health protocols (p-value=0,007; r=0,248; p-value=0,001; r=0,301). Compliance with health protocols during the new normal period is very important to break the chain of the spread of the covid-19 virus.

Abstract

The Tsunami of the Sunda Strait in December 2018 resulted in many losses, fatalities, and infrastructure. The psychological impact that often occurs during a catastrophic event is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and if a teenager experiences it will have an impact on life in the future. The purpose of this study was to analyse the social determinants associated with PTSD in post-Tsunami Banten. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional study design with a sample size of 125. The sampling technique uses Proportional to Size (PPS) and Simple Random Sampling. Data analysis using Fisher's Exact test. Factors related to the risk of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are family support (p-value 0,042<0,05) and peer support (p-value 0,021<0,05) significantly related to the risk of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in adolescents in SMPN 2 Labuan. However, volunteer support and support of religious leaders do not have a significant relationship with the risk of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Support of family and friends are risk factors PTSD in adolescents at SMPN 2 Labuan after the Sunda Strait tsunami disaster in December 2018. There needs to be socialization related to post-disaster mental health management to parents and peers.

Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a complication of diabetes mellitus (DM) that is important to get attention especially by people with DM. Approximately 25% of DM cases develop DFU. In addition, 85% of amputations in DM cases are caused by DFU. However, amputation of the lower limb due to DFU could be minimized by giving education about its prevention. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the risk level of DFU and evaluated the effect of education related to DFU prevention in people with DM. This research was an observational descriptive study with a cohort study approach. This research had 15 participants. Each participant underwent foot screening to determine the risk level of DFU. Afterward, they were given a pretest to evaluate the level of knowledge and behavior of DFU prevention by using questionnaires. Directly after the pretest, they were also given education about DFU prevention. After 6-8 weeks, a post-test was carried out using the same questionnaires. The results showed that all participants had a risk of developing DFU. Giving education has significantly improved the knowledge and behavior of participants in practicing foot care to prevent DFU. It is important to perform foot screening to prevent the complications of DFU. In addition, education is significantly influential in improving the knowledge and behavior related to DFU prevention in people with DM.

Abstract

The problem for pregnant women is iron anemia. The natural material that contains iron is honey. The study aims to determine the difference in hemoglobin levels in pregnant anemic who are supplemented Fe tablets and honey. Quasi-experimental research with nonrandomized pretest and posttest with control group design. Samples amounted to 30 people with purposive sampling technique. Analysis using paired t-test and independent sample t-test. The hemoglobin levels of anemic pregnant given Fe tablets only increased by 0,31gr/dl (3,21%), while those given Fe tablets and honey increased 1,06gr/dl (12,20%). Combination Fe tablets and honey can be an alternative for increasing hemoglobin in anemic pregnant.

Abstract

The global commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) establishes access to safe drinking water and healthy sanitation for all residents. This study analyzes the financing and economic benefits of drinking water and sanitation service interventions using the Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) approach. The study used secondary data from the Health Office, the Bandar Lampung City Manpower Office, and the publication of research results. Intervention costs include the fixed and annual operating costs of the intervention. Benefits are calculated from the savings in health recovery costs, avoiding lost time from work, school, and waiting for sick children, and the acquisition of productive time. The study results get a total investment cost of $ 2,113,190 and a total benefit of $ 44,727,436. Efforts to improve water and sanitation services are effective and efficient (0.057% of GDP) and profitable ($ 22.20 return for every $ 1 investment). These results provide strong evidence for planners and decision-makers that improving water and sanitation services provides value for returns, both social and economical, and proves the possibility of accelerating the achievement of SDGs commitments.

Abstract

This modern era has changed the pattern of how humans do their daily activities in 24 hours. The pattern change includes time-shifting, most human activities now are performed at night. The consequences of the changes in human activities pattern and the increase of artificial lighting use in the night were assumed unhealthy, but how the mechanism worked was not identified yet. This was an experimental study conducted on male Wistar rats aged 12-16 weeks which were divided into 4 categories: 1 intervention group exposed for 15 days, 1 intervention group exposed for 30 days, and 2 control groups for each time exposure, light intensity 1200lux. At the end of exposures, the blood samples were taken from rats that had been anesthetized before by using ether. Then blood samples were taken to analyze their cortisol levels using the Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method and the hematology was examined through autoanalyzer Abaxis. The data were analyzed using an independent T-test and Mann-Whitney test and considered significant if p-value<0,05. Overall, the cortisol and hematology levels indicated, especially Red Blood Cell (RBC), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC), and neutrophil specifically for the group which had been exposed by LED lighting for 30 days.
