Abstract

This research aims to analyze aspects of demand, costs and benefits of tobacco products in Indonesia and several other ASEAN countries (such as: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam). The research approach used is descriptive comparative analysis and quantitative analysis to examine the relationship between demand factors and cost factors with explanatory variables, namely: price level, amount of excise, government revenue and cross-country specific factors. The descriptive approach is carried out by analyzing secondary data from the results of previous research studies. While the quantitative approach is done using standard regression analysis and instrument variable approach. The results of the study indicate that among ASEAN countries, Indonesia is known as the country with the highest rate of smoking prevalence for adult men (67 percent). The results showed that a one percent price increase would reduce the prevalence to around 0.27 percent (significance at 1%). Meanwhile the increase in prevalence will increase costs by an average of 14.71 million US dollars (significance at 5%). That is, the higher the state revenue from cigarette excise, the higher the costs to be borne. These results further strengthen the urgency of tobacco control in Indonesia.

Abstract

The health service referral system is the implementation of health services that regulate where and where a person with a particular health disorder should be checked for illness. Problems that occur in the referral process such as not having the certainty of service time, the service is not in accordance with the competence and the closest radius of the patient's location so that it can cause inconvenience. The aim of the study was to create a web-based planned referral system (SIJUNA) to help manage referral services from public health centers to hospitals so that there was no reason for patients not to be served because the human resources and facilities needed were not available. This research uses action research with a qualitative approach and the system development stage using the FAST method. The system is tested using black box testing so that it can be seen that the whole feature has a function that is good and in accordance with the objectives of the system user. The results of this study are the establishment of a Planned Referral Information System (SIJUNA) that facilitates the referral process of patients from the Public Health Center to the Hospital. With the existence of SIJUNA, the operational needs of services are good with the types of outpatient referrals, inpatient care, and emergencies can be fulfilled by increasing accessibility such as certainty of service time with competence and the closest radius of the patient's location, equalizing and increasing the effectiveness of health services. nearest health who has competencies according to patient needs.

Abstract

Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) is a neglected tropical disease caused by filarial worms. Semarang City has an increasing number of LF. The aim of this study was to investigate potential sources of transmission and distribution of LF. It was descriptive research using cross-sectional design. The sample were 28 LF cases. The variables studied were level of knowledge, physical and biological environmental factors, and provision of health service. Data were collected using interviews and observation. Data were analyzed descriptively and spatially. The results showed that LF cases were distributed in center of Semarang City, especially in the coastal area.  Poor drainage and stagnant water around the houses were potential breeding places for mosquitos, which are suspected as a vector of LF transmission. Poor knowledge of LF, physical and biological environmental factors around the houses of LF patient houses may possibly be sources of distribution and transmission of LF.

Abstract

Abstract Rats become important pests in human life. Control of rats using live traps can only catch the rats in the first time the trap is set, for the following days no rats enter the trap. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there were differences in the number of rats trapped between the method of combined feeding with non-combined feeding. This type of research used in this study was quasi-experimental (quasi experiment) with a posttest only nonequivalent control group design. Each house has 5 traps installed with 6 repetitions. One trap was installed by combining bait types and four other traps were installed without combining bait types. The instruments used were house screening sheets, traps, and observation sheets. The data obtained were tested with the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the study showed that the number of rats trapped between combined feeding with anchovies (p = 0.048), combined feeding with rice (p = 0.272), fed combination with tofu (p = 0.443) and combined feeding with grilled coconut (p = 0.443). The most common trapping of the rats is the feeding of anchovies, while the most consistent trapping of mice is the combination of feeding and feeding of anchovies.

Abstract

The blood processing replacement costs (BPPD) establishment in Indonesia is an incomprehensive cost calculation for blood services. Several countries have calculated costs for blood services at health care institutions through an activity framework plus generated blood products and components costs as well as blood services fees. This study aims to discuss the cost calculation method for blood services carried out in Zimbabwe, Canada, United Kingdom, Greece and India. It was a literature review conducted by accessing scientific articles sourced from the Google Scholar database. A total of 11 articles were collected, but only 5 with relevant topics were discussed. Blood service cost calculation provides information of various activities involved in producing a product and service. Also, blood service framework model determination was needed as a cost center for estimation to prevent duplication. Each activity's total output from the cost center was used in calculating the unit cost of the activity or product. The blood products and components include whole blood, red blood cells, platelets, plasma (FFP), and cryoprecipitate. Each of the blood components require a different cost determined by the activity involved in their production.

Abstract

The difficulty of the community to understand health behavior is the main cause of poor physical activity behavior. The aim of this study is to explore health education barriers to controlling blood glucose patient with DM in primry health care. The Forum Group Discussion (n = 22) and interview (n = 5) methods were to explore the patient's desire to overcome educational barriers. Informants were patients with DM aged of 26-69 year-old from two community health center and two private health center in Sleman Regency, Indonesia. The questions were around barriers to physical activity programs for controlling blood glucose. The data were analyzed using Opencode. Boring educational training is the leading cause of physical activity and dietary control in patients with DM. Formal language in delivering material is the cause of patient boredom to take part in the training. Despise and feeling of anxiety to ask questions during the educational procedure that the patient feels. Also, in terms of health service providers, limited human resources have resulted in a lack of maximum education programs for patients with DM in Yogyakarta.Tense atmosphere and language that is difficult to understand have a negative impact on patient behavior to change physical activity behavior and controlled eating patterns in patients with DM.
