Abstract

Waktu terus beijalan demikian pula proses pendidikan terus berkembang sesuai kemajuan zaman, sehingga metode pembelajaran yang menempatkan mahasiswa ialam posisi pasif atau teacher centered sudah tidak sesuai lagi untuk menghadapi 3ntangan ke depan yang lebih berat bagi calon-calon dokter. Metode pembelajaran tradisionil yang selama ini banyak digunakan dalam proses pendidikan dokter di Indonesia mungkin perlu diinovasi dalam beberapa hal agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dan tuntutan perkembangan zaman. Inovasi dalam pendidikan tidak hanya dalam hal metode saja tapi juga dalam banyak hal. Inovasi tidak harus dengan merubah secara total kurikulum pendidikannya ataupun metode pembelajarannya tetapi bisa dilakukan secara bertahap atau parsial disesuaikan dengan kemampuan institusi baik dalam hal sarana, biaya, SDM, dll.

Abstract

Health care provider provide first response to patients in disaster. Medical and health institutions in Indonesia which produce health professional are still in early process to develop IPE for their students. Health professional unaccustomed with team work to serve patients, therefore they are not properly prepared to response natural disasters. The aim of this article is to give understanding for health institutions about interprofessional education (IPE) concept related to natural disaster. Review article conducted by analyzing scientific article from journals and text books. IPE is a necessary step in preparing a collaborative practice ready health work force to respond in disaster and getting better patient outcomes. Patients are the primary focus of any emergency response such as disaster. In disaster team work is the crucial competency that must be think first. Team performance however may not be optimal and it is often the patient who suffers from this dysfunction. Improved inter professional practice in emergency response will lead to better patient outcomes when teams have adequate knowledge and skills. They will manage the patients each other appropriately based on their each role. Health institutions should develop IPE including module focus on disaster/emergency preparedness to optimize role of health provider. Real experience into community exercises also necessary to ensure that student involvement during actual disasters also needed as a part of local disaster management plans.

Abstract

Abstract: Education must be able to provide sufficient hard skills and soft skills to students to face the increasing challenges of life in the era of globalization (including MEA) both now and in the future. One of the soft skills competencies that are important to be trained is self-directed learning and is one indicator of nursing education competencies, namely life-long learning. The purpose of this study was to analyz of journals regarding the application of the method of self-directed learning in improving the competence of nursing students.This study is a literature review research that focuses on the results of writing relating to the application of the method of self-directed learning to nursing students through searching of accredited journal sites such as ProQoest, PubMED, ResearchGate, SagePub and Schoolar with keywords self-directed learning education, competency, learning outcome in the period 2013-2018. That data has been obtained is reviewed, compared, arranged systematically, and discussed.It was found that 3,240 journals identified based on the keywords which were then filtered so that 28 journals based on inclusion criteria were obtained, filtered again for eligibility and found the total articles that qualified for review were 11 journals. The influence of the application of self-directed learning methods on competency of nursing students was found, including increase in critical thinking skills, communication effective, interpersonal skill, self-efficacy, sense of responsibility, motivation, outonomi, self-confidence, academic value, independence and creativity. Keywords: Self-Directed Learning, competency, nursing student Abstrak: Pendidikan harus dapat memberikan bekal hard skill dan soft skill yang memadai kepada peserta didik untuk menghadapi semakin meningkatnya tantangan kehidupan di era globalisasi (termasuk MEA) baik masa sekarang maupun yang akan datang. Salah satu kompetensi soft skill yang penting dilatih adalah self-directed learning dan merupakan salah satu indikator dari kompetensi pendidikan keperawatan yaitu pembelajaran sepanjang hayat (life-long learning). Tujuan dari studi ini untuk menganalisis jurnal mengenai penerapan metode self-directed learning dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa keperawatan.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi literatur review yang berfokus pada hasil penulisan yang berkaitan dengan penerapan metode self directed learning pada mahasiswa keperawatan melalui penelusuran situs jurnal yang sudah terakreditasi seperti ProQoest, PubMED, ResearchGate, SagePub dan Schoolar dengan kata kunci self-directed learning, nursing education, competency, learning outcome dalam kurun waktu 2013-2018. Data yang telah diperoleh ditelaah, dibandingkan, disusun secara sistematis, dan dibahas. Didapatkan 3.240 jurnal diidentifikasi berdasarkan kata kunci yang kemudian disaring sehingga didapatkan 28 jurnal berdasarkan kriteria inklusi, disaring lagi kelayakannya dan didapatkan total artikel yang memenuhi syarat untuk review adalah 11 jurnal. Ditemukan adanya pengaruh penerapan metode pembelajaran self-directed learning terhadap kompetensi mahasiswa keperawatan, diantaranya adalah meningkatnya kemampuan meningkatnya kemampuan berfikir kritis, komunikasi efektif, kemampuan interpersonal, self-efficacy, tanggung jawab, motivasi, otonomomi, rasa percaya diri, nilai akademik, kemandirianserta kreatifitas.Kata Kunci: Self Directed Learning, Kompetensi, Mahasiswa Keperawatan

Abstract

Learning motivation is an important thing owned by a Nursing student because it directly affects the student’s learning outcomes. The learning method of team based learning is student center learning strategy to improve the student’s motivation and learning outcomes. The research objective is to get to know the effect of implementation of learning method of team based learning on students’ motivation and learning outcomes compared to lecturing method. The research type is quantitative with quasi-experiment pre-test-post-test with control group approach. The research respondents are students of semester II in Nursing Diploma Study Program of Health Academy of Karya Husada Yogyakarta totaling 91 people. The research result shows that after getting intervension, the learning motivation of intervension group is higher than control group. The average value of intervension group is 119.19 ± 19.19, while control group is only 100.36 ± 23.26. The learning outcomes of intervension group is higher than control group. The average value of intervension group is 80.21 ± 11.58, while control group is only 60.46 ± 16.32. Therefore, it can be concluded that the improvement of motivation and learning outcomes of students of Nursing Diploma of Health Academy of Karya Husada Yogyakarta in the implementation of learning method of team based learning is higher than lecturing learning method.

Abstract

Background: Identifying the barriers faced by graduate nurses become one of the efforts of educational institutions and graduate nurses to evaluate the results of the low passing rate on Indonesian Nurses Competency Test (INCT). This study aims to analyze barriers of graduated nurses from Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Jember to face INCT.  Methods: The method used is descriptive method with qualitative approach that involves 6 people graduate nurses Faculty of Health Sciences, University of MuhammadiyahJember who did not pass INCT. Data obtained through focus group discussions and then analyzed by constant comparative method.  Results: The results showed that the barriers of graduated nurses in the face of INCT consists of theimproper execution time of INCT, unfocused learning process, confusion, anxiety, an inadequate knowledge of INCT, the hesitation in the answer, the computer screen?s brightness, and an error computers.  Conclusion: The results indicate that there are obstacles in the preparatory phase and during the implementation INCT that affect the success rate of graduate nurses in INCT.

Abstract

Uji Kompetensi Ners Indonesia (UKNI) merupakan capaian akhir mahasiswa keperawatan untuk dinyatakan status mereka sebagai perawat yang kompeten atau tidak. Isu UKNI sebagai exit exam  semakin gencar disosialisasikan oleh Kemenristekdikti, akan tetapi saat ini angka kelulusan UKNI masih kecil. Kecilnya angka kelulusan UKNI menjadi ancaman yang besar seperti peningkatan pengangguran, keterlambatan kelulusan, hingga kalahnya persaingan perawat Indonesia terhadap perawat luar negeri. Saat ini belum ada ringkasan khusus mengenai faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi kelulusan UKNI. Literature Review ini betujuan mengetahui faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi kelulusan UKNI. Literature Review dilakukan dengan mesin pencari Google Schoolar. Terdapat 6 artikel jurnal yang dianalisis setelah melewati proses inklusi. Hasil analisis menyatakan bahwa persiapan dan pelaksanaan UKNI memiliki faktor-faktor dalam menentukan kelulusan UKNI.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Critical thinking is an important competency to be developed during the nursing education process. Critical thinking is needed by nurses to make clinical decisions related to problems experienced by patients. However, several studies mention the tendency and critical thinking ability of nursing students is still low. One effort to overcome this is by applying learning methods that enable students to learn actively such as the 5E cycle learning method with CBL. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the integration of learning cycle 5E with CBL on students' thinking tendencies. The research design used was a Quasy experiment with a pre test post test with control group approach. The research sample was 21 students 5th semester of Nursing Unipdu Jombang as a treatment group and 19 students of Nursing study at the Health Development Program Mojokerto PPNI as a control group. Data analysis techniques used were paired t-test and Independent t-test. The results showed there were significant differences in the tendency of critical thinking both in the treatment group and the control group before and after the intervention was given with a value of p = 0.001 for the treatment group and p = 0.004 for the control group. There is a significant influence on the integration of the 5E cycle learning model with CBL on the tendency of critical thinking with a value of p = 0.043 (??0.05). Integration of the 5E cycle Learning model with CBL can increase the critical thinking tendency because it can activate the use of higher order thinking skills such as the ability to analyze, synthesize and draw conclusions. Thus the integration of the 5E and CBL cycle learning models can be used as an alternative learning method to increase students' critical thinking tendencies. Keywords : 5E Cycle Learning Model, Case Based Learning (CBL), Critical Thinking Trends

Abstract

Dosen pembimbing klinik pendidikan dokter tahap profesi di rumah sakit sebagai role model yang baik diperlukan untuk mengajarkan sikap perilaku, skills dan knowledge. Studi ini dilakukan untuk merumuskan konsep role model yang diharapkan oleh mahasiswa pendidikan dokter. Disain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif, cross sectional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner, wawancara mendalam dengan the general interview guide approach dan observasi dengan insider observer. Lokasi penelitian pada 8 rumah sakit pendidikan FKIK UMY, penentuan sampel secara purposive dengan criterion reference, yaitu mahasiswa yang menjalani stase paling lama di bagian atau mahasiswa di bagian 4 besar pada 8 RS pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, 70% dosen pembimbing klinik pada bagian 4 besar 8 rumah sakit pendidikan FKIK UMY merupakan role model yang baik. Berdasarkan kriteria role model dari Passi, 98% dosen pembimbing klinik menunjukkan clinical skills yang baik, 93% menunjukkan teaching skills dan personal quality yang baik. Terdapat kesesuaian terhadap role model yang diharapkan oleh mahasiswa dari hasil kuesioner, wawancara dan observasi. Rumusan role model yang baik menurut mahasiswa, yaitu mempunyai kemampuan mengajar atau teaching skills yang baik antara lain cukup waktu untuk membimbing, mampu berkomunikasi, me­motivasi mahasiswa belajar, memberikan feedback, dan memiliki pengetahuan yang luas serta up date.In clinical rotation at teaching hospital, the role of clinical teacher as a good role model was needed to teach attitude, skills and knowledge. The aim of this study is to develop concept of role model based on student’s opinions at school of medicine. This study is descriptive, cross sectional using quantitative and qualitative approach. Collecting data method conducted by distributing of questionaires, indepth interview by the general interview guide approach and direct observation by insider observer. This study conducted at 8 teaching hospitals of FKIK UMY. Sampling method by purposived and criterion refer­enced. The respondents was the students who conduct in longest clinical rotation i. e. 4 major departements at 8 teaching hospitals. This study revealed, 70% of clinical teacher in 4 major departements at 8 teach­ing hospitals is good role model. Regarding Passi’s criterias of role model, 98% of clinical teacher show good clinical skills, 93% show good teaching skills and personal quality respectively. There is similar result of concept of role model from questionaires, indepth interview and direct observation. Based on student’s opinions, a good role model should has good teaching skills such as sufficient of time to assist students, good communication skills, can motivate students, give feedback and has both wide and up date of knowledge.

Abstract

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) exert its action through inhibition of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis. These drugs act by inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) which involved in PG synthesis. COX-lwhich is involv in PG synthesis may maintains normal gastric mucosa and influences kidney function. COX-2 a COX-1 homolog which is induced by inflammatory stimulan is inhibited by NSAIDs. The anti-inflammatory actions of NSAIDs are due to the inhibition of COX-2, whereas the unwanted side effects such as irritation of the stomach lining and toxic effect on the kidney are due to inhibition of the COX-1. In the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis, using NSAIDs with selective COX-2 inhibition show effective benefit with minimal gastrointestinal side effect.Obat analgesik anti-inflamasi nonsteroid (AINS) bekerja menghambat enzim cyclooxygenase (COX) sehingga sintesis prostaglandin (PG) juga terhambat. COX- 1 yang terlibat dalam sintesis PG dapat mempengaruhi fungsi ginjal dan pertahanan mukosa lambung, sehingga hambatan pada COX-1 oleh obat AINS dapa: menyebabkan timbulnya efek samping pada lambung dan ginjal. COX-2 suatu ho¬molog COX-1 terinduksi pada keadaan inflamasi dapat dihambat oleh obat AINS. Oleh karena itu obat AINS yang selektif menghambat COX-2 akan lebih menguntungkan terapi penyakit inflamasi seperti osteoartritis karena efek samping pada saluran cerna dan ginjal dapat dicegah.

Abstract

Problem based learning atau PBL, suatu metode pembelajaran yang sedang dikembangkan di institusi kedokteran di Indonesia saat ini, mengalami perkembangan yang sangat pesat. Namun demikian, dalam rangka pengembangan tersebut perlu kiranya kita melihat bagaimana PBL di institusi lain yang sudah eslablishedbaik di dalam negeri maupun di luar negeri. Untuk menambah wacana dan mengambil pengalaman yang mungkin dapat diterapkan di masing-masing institusi kita maka pada editorial ini disampaikan pengalaman mengikuti kegiatan PBL yaitu advanced course PBL di Maastricht belum lama ini. Maastricht sebagai salah satu universitas rujukan untuk pembelajaran PBL sudah menerapkan PBL sejak 1974 yaitu sejak berdirinya Fakultas Kedokteran. Fakultas lain seperti psikologi, ilmu kesehatan, ekonomi, arsitek, hukum dan ilmu lainnya semua menggunakan PBL sebagai metode pembelajarannya. Sehingga bila kita melihat baik kurikulum, proses pelaksanaan, SDM (mahasiswa, staff) dan semua fasilitas yang menunjang PBL di Maastricht sudah begitu sempurna.
