Abstract

The problems of school-based management in terms of improving the quality of education that has not been solved at this time is one of them related to the empowerment of the school committee. Ideally the school committee should be a parallel partner for the principal and teachers in adopting policies for improving the quality of education. The purpose of this study was to determine the empowerment of school committees in improving the quality of education at Syiah Kuala State Elementary School in Banda Aceh. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach. Technique research data of this research is interview, observation, and documentation. The subjects of this research are principals, school committees, and teachers of Syiah Kuala State elementary school in Banda Aceh. The conclusion of the research shows that the effort done by the school in empowering the school committee is to make regular meetings every three months, and to make a meeting at the end of each semester. It was at this meeting that the principal and the school committee discussed important matters concerning improving the quality of education quality improvement and other matters deemed necessary. The involvement of school committees in formulating work programs generally can be said to run well. In every work program preparation, the school always involves school committees and teachers so that each work program is really known by the school committee. The authority of the school committee is not the same as the principal, including in managing school finances. School committees have limited authority to provide certain inputs or considerations regarding school programs. Thus, the authority of the school committee is not yet optimal, especially in financial management..

Abstract

The element of physical condition is one of the most important elements observed by every sportsman. This is because the physical element has a huge influence on determining the mastery of the other elements. Besides having the ideal physical and Antrhopometri, the athlete of the sport of Kempo also requires a good mental condition. One of the mental factors to note is the level of confident athletes in preparing to do the match. This relates to the form of matches that are always physically faced during the game. Athletes who have less emotional intelligence on their own will experience obstacles in achieving achievements. The population in this research is the provincial athletes in Aceh, which amounted to 26 people and all made samples in this study. The instrument used in this research is using a poll, motor ability test i.e. 1) throwing tests on target; 2) Kelentukan Togok and waist test; 3) Jump far without a prefix; 4) Complete and awake test; 5) push up test; 6) Back and forth and a Kempo play ability test. The analysis of data in this study was processed by using statistical formulas in the form of calculation of average values (mean), standard deviation (SD) and correlational test. The results of analysis of research data obtained the following conclusions, 1) there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and the ability to play a game of development of ACEH Pengprov athletes (r = 0.41); 2) There is a positive and significant relationship between Motor Ability with the ability to play the athletes of the Pengprov Aceh PROLIFERATION (r = 0.58); 3) There is a relationship of emotional intelligence and Motor Ability with the ability to play the the athlete of the development of ACEH (R = 0.50). The results of the hypothesis testing showed that Fcount = 2.19 ≥ Ftabel = 1.711 then Emotional intelligence and Motor Ability had a significant connection to the ability of the Kempo play.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the various types of applications used in the online learning process in University during the emergency period to prevent the spread of Covid 19. This research uses a literature study of several articles that discuss online learning in university visiting various pages or articles from the World Wide Web. Presentation of the results is done narratively. The result of the study show there are 9 types of applications that are often used in the online learning process. The 9 types of applications that are often used include; (1) zoom, (2) google classroom, (3) Whatapp group, (4) google meet, (5) skype, (6) Webex, (7) email, (8) Edmodo dan (9) camstudio.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims: 1) To determine the application of the Cooperative Script learning model in increasing student learning interest 2) To determine the increase in students’ understanding in increasing students’ interest in learning through the application of the Cooperative Script learning model; 3) How do the students’ responses in learning Bahasa Indonesia. The material was the understanding of short story building elements through the application of the Cooperative Script learning model. The research was conducted using interactive qualitative methods and Class Action Research which was conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle included planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects are students of class IX odd semester SMP Negeri 1 Tj.Morawa, Deli Serdang Regency. The results of the study for students' initial conditions as measured by a written test and the results of classroom action research with 2 cycles, showed an increase in the learning outcomes achieved by students in mastering the material. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that in cycle 1 the students' learning completeness on this material was only 69.29, while in cycle 2 by applying the Cooperative Script learning model increased in cycle 2 the average value increased to 87.14. Student response also increased, data from observations of student activity from 62.50% in cycle 1, increased in cycle 2 to 85.42%.

Abstract

Based on the results of field observations to study physics, discovered the problem that when the learning process is still on going in other words the student center still conventional. The process of teaching and learning by teachers is an activity students store information in a passive mind and considered vacant, students only received verbal information from books and teachers. Though the learning of physics is based on the scientific principles of good processes, products and scientific attitude should be oriented guided inquiry. The research objective was to determine: 1) increase students' critical thinking skills using guided inquiry models, 2) the activity of teachers in the learning process by using a model of guided inquiry, 3) the activity of students in the learning process by using a model of guided inquiry, 4) The response of students to the learning model in teaching and learning classroom XI IPA1 MAN Darussalam academic year 2015/2016 amounted to 24 students. Data were obtained from the tests, observation and questionnaires, the research methods class act. The technique of data analysis using descriptive statistics with percentage formula. Based on the results of this study indicated that: 1) critical thinking skills test results obtained value (56.45) in the first cycle, (63.96) in the second cycle and (72.70) in the third cycle. 2) the activity of the dominant teacher appears that aspects of planning and carrying out simple investigations and communicate the results of the investigation (14.6%). 3) the dominant activity of students appearing is formulate aspects of the problem and communicate the results of the investigation (14.6%). 4) The response of students feel that the inquiry learning model to increase critical thinking skills using guided inquiry learning model achieving the highest percentage of 94.21%.

Abstract

This study entitled “The Analisys of Students’ Oral Performances by Using Speaking Soring Rubric” is written to analyze the students’ oral performances ability in speaking class by using scoring rubric and to know the lecturer’s scoring rubric used to evaluate her/his students’ speaking ability. The observation sheet helped the writer to get the data about the students’ oral performances based on the scoring rubric and the interview recorded to gain the information about the scoring rubric used by the lecturer to evaluate the students’ speaking ability. As many as 15 students of English Department of Muhammadiyah University was taken as the sample through random sampling. From observation sheet, it showed that there was one student who was in perfect category, and the rest were in good, average, and bad category. While from the interview, the lecturer used David P. Harris’ asessment rubric.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi temperamen siswa SMP selama pembelajaran daring akibat dari adanya pandemik COVID-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam mengumpulkan informasi data menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi untuk mencari data mengenai hal-hal yang relevan dengan kondisi temperamennya siswa selama pembelajaran daring. Kriteria siswa yang diwawancara adalah siswa SMP yang menjalani pembelajaran daring dari rumah. Deskripsi hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya variasi temperamen. Hasil wawancara dan observasi mendeskripsikan temperamen siswa selama pembelajaran secara daring pada masa pandemi Covid 19 adalah temperamen difficult child dan temperamen slow-to-warm-up child. Tipe temperamen pada responden pertama dan ketiga sesuai dengan temperamen difficult child. Siswa yang termasuk dalam tipe difficult child ini bereaksi secara negatif terhadap sesuatu hal. Selain itu, siswa tersebut lebih sering menangis dan lambat dalam menerima perubahan. Sedangkan tipe temperamen pada responden kedua sesuai dengan temperamen slow-to-warm-up child, siswa yang termasuk dalam tipe ini biasanya memiliki tingkat aktivitas yang rendah serta suasana hati yang negatif. Anak-anak dengan tipe ini juga dianggap sebagai anak yang pemalu. Sebab anak-anak dengan tipe ini tidak nyaman dengan hal baru dan lambat dalam beradaptasi. Selain itu, anak-anak dengan tipe ini lebih sering mengekspresikan suasana hati yang negatif secara lambat.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe writing description learning using conference technique. The assumption of this research are (1) student class X-3 at SMA Negeri 1 Jantho ability in writing description using conference technique to write description is still low, (2) conference technique is able to uplifting liveliness of student in writing description learning because the learning is conducted individually and team, (3) conference technique is able to uplifting student motivation in description writing learning because process in writing description can make student happy, (4) conference technique is able to uplifting student achievement in writing description, (5) each of student of class X-3 SMA Negeri 1 Jantho Makmur have different character because student ability is heterogeneous. This research use qualitative approach. Kind of research is classroom action research. Action research is conducted in two cycles. Each action is consisting of four actions that are (1) planning, (2) realization, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data collecting in this research was done by using observation, interview, field note, documentation, student composition. Research processes cover four phases. First, prewriting cover chosening writing topic based on theme, developing writing topic, deciding title, developing writing topic as a sentence suitable with topic, composing writing framework suitable with topic. Draft phase cover compiling composition draft by showing main idea and detail based on composition framework, and compiling details using conjunction correctly. Editing phase cover editing composition draft by sharing with friend, editing composition, and rewrite composition draft based on suggestion from his friend. Publication phase cover reading composition n front of the class with correct intonation, giving respons to composition which has been read clearly, and rewrite composition well based on suggestion from friend. Result of this research show that skill of students of class X-3 at SMA Negeri 1 Jantho in writing description using conference technique will be described as follows. At cycle I, student average value is 63,7. At cycle I student average value is 74,28. Thereby, it is mean that applying of conference technique is uplifting student ability in writing description

Abstract

Along with the rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT), the need for an ICT-based concept and mechanism of teaching and learning becomes inevitable. The concept then known as e-learning is bringing the influence of the process of transformation of conventional education into digital form, both content, and system. On the other hand, information technology has become the world's largest computer network, which works well if it is supported by computer devices with good software and with well-trained teachers. Using the internet with all the facilities will make it easy to access various information for education that can directly improve students' knowledge for their success in learning. Likewise in Permendiknas Number 22 of 2006 point, 2 stated that one of the objectives of physics is to develop science and technology. One of the developments of science and technology is the availability of professional teachers. With the results of this study are 1) Application of web-based learning on temperature and caloric materials can improve the concept understanding among students significantly compared with conventional learning methods. 2) The use of web-based technology in the learning process of temperature and heat material can significantly increase students' KGS compared to conventional learning methods. 3) Students give a very positive response to the implementation of web-based learning on temperature and heat materials.

Abstract

This research aims at knowing whether guided-question technique can improve students’ ability in writing narrative text and also finding out the students’ responses in applying guided-question technique in their writing. This experimental research was conducted at SMPN 1 Indrapuri. The sample of the research was class VIII-1 (experimental class) and class VIII-2 (control class), with the number of student was 40 students. In collecting the data, tests and questionnaire were used. Based on the result of data analysis, the students of the experimental class achieved the improvement from 65,23 to 76,66, while the control class students only showed a slightly improvement (from 65 to 66). It can be concluded that guided-question technique can improve students’ ability in writing narrative text. The students were able to generate ideas and details by asking some questions about the subject in their writing process. The questionnaire results revealed that guided-question technique can motivate and make the students are interested in writing. So, the teacher of the school may use this technique in improving the students’ ability in writing narrative text.
