Abstract

Quality education emphasis on the important learning process for students; Meaningful learning is not only evident from the high scores achieved by students. However, also the learning process can instil and foster the student's character, such as a creative attitude that will deliver a brilliant student achievement. In this study aims to analyze the increase in creativity and student learning outcomes by using a project-based learning model. This research was conducted at Public High School 1 Piyungan Yogyakarta with a sample size of 34 students of class XI IPS on the topics of Colonialism and Imperialism. This research included in this type of classroom action research whose implementation consists of two cycles I,e cycle 1 and cycle 2. Data collection technique used observation, questionnaires and learning achievement test instruments. While the data analysis technique uses the percentage of mastery learning outcomes, classically results show that there is an increase in learning achievement and creativity of the students at each cycle. It explains that the model of Project-Based Learning can increase creativity and student achievement.

Abstract

The level of physical fitness of Mentari Sulha Soccer SSB players can be said to be relatively low because in every championship game in the early minutes of the game they run well and fast, but in the second half until the end the physical condition decreases so that affects the game, this is marked by the body starting to appear tired to move and often missed and end up often losing. This study seeks to reveal the physical fitness level of SSB Mentari Sulha Football players. The purpose of the study was to obtain the level of physical fitness possessed by SSB Mentari Sulha Football players. The measurement approach is quantitative and qualitative. The population includes all SSB Mentari Sulha players with a sample of 16 players with a total sampling technique or saturated sample. Data collection using TKJI tests, namely running 50 and 1000 meters, hanging body lift, sitting lying down, jumping upright. Data analysis uses the average formula and frequency distribution. The results of data analysis showed that: 1) 1 player (6.25%) was in the "Good" category, 2) 8 players (50.00%) were in the "Medium" category, 3) 7 players (43, 75%) are in the "Poor" category. The conclusion of this study is that the physical fitness level of the SSB Mentari Sulha Soccer player in Nagan Raya Regency is Medium.

Abstract

Accelerated classroom has become the meaningful program in the school that given for the special students.  Since the use of same curriculum that has been modified between acceleration class and normal class becomes a debate. This paper presents an analysis of the differences in achievement between acceleration students and regular students. Also, it gives a description of prospects and problems of accelerated classroom in Indonesia. The account of the difference between regular students and non-regular students is exposed from three paradigm; psychology, curriculum, and economic. The conversation provides pro and con regarding to the existence of the acceleration class. The reflection about the gifted students who have high ability, Indonesia should hold acceleration class to meet their needs.

Abstract

The conflict management ability of cadets in the Educational and Training Institute at the Semarang Police Academic is still low or not optimal. This needs special attention from all parties involved in the Police Academy. Because of the various reasons raised by cadets that they have not maximally practiced conflict management courses and it is only theoretical that cadets get. Therefore, increasing the ability of educators needs to be considered in teaching any material taught to cadets. This research is a quantitative study with a sample size of 28 people. The data collection technique is a closed questionnaire technique, while the data analysis technique uses SPSS 21 to determine the effect of organizational culture, self-efficacy on the conflict management skills of cadets at the Police Academy. The results showed that there was an influence of organizational culture by 28.1%, self-efficacy on conflict management by 49.5%. This shows that conflict management skills can increase if organizational culture and self-efficacy are increased effectively.

Abstract

The issues raised whether with implemented managerial supervision will be able to improve the teachers’ quality of SMP N 1 Rantau Selamat. This study aimed to determine the quality improvement of teachers SMP N 1 Rantau Selamat through the implementation of supervision. This study is a School Action Research (PTS) using a qualitative approach implemented over 2 cycles. Duration of 3 months study from January to March 2017. The subjects of this study were 4 teachers. The research procedure is a cycle that each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection tools are observation sheets and field notes. Data collection techniques with observation and field notes. Data analysis was performed on teacher performance and field notes. The results of the first cycle of the study of managerial administrative value of teachers ranged from 3.2 to 3.7 with good and sufficient categories. Classically, the average value obtained is 3.0 or 69%. The number of teachers who have met the criteria of administrative managerial success is only 2 people or 50%. With a percentage less than 75 (percentage ≤ 75). In cycle II, the acquisition of managerial administrative value reaches the expectation of research. The four subjects received a value greater than or equal to 3.4 (value ≥ 3.4). The value achieved between 3.5 - 4.6 is good and very good category. Teacher performance effectiveness in cycle II has reached 100%. 100% effectiveness meets the criteria of classical effectiveness (effectiveness ≥ 75% in class). The average value of the overall teacher managerial aspect / component acquired is 3.9.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of the 2013 curriculum as a whole not being implemented because the facilities and infrastructure are still inadequate, the teacher has not yet maximally carried out the learning assessment because the assessment method has not been shown to be comprehensive observations due to the large number of students, and the test questions have not yet arrived at HOTS achievements. The subjects used to test the practicality and effectiveness of the assessment for learning tools were 32 students in class X-1. This type of research is used in 4-D R&D models (Define, Design, Development & Disseminate). Data collection techniques were carried out using the check list method, focus discussion group (FGD), peer assessment sheets, self-assessment sheets, and description form tests.The results showed that, the validation results from experts on the HOTS-based assessment for learning developed were feasible to use with the results 1) the results of the RPP validation of 0.76; 2) the results of the validation of peer assessment sheets 0.906; 3) the results of the validation of the self-assessment sheet 0.875; 4) the results of the validation test sheet form description for the content of 0.824 and for languages of 0.903. Practicality test results show practical use, namely 1) the results of student answers to peer assessment sheets obtained an average value of 81.12 and the results of answers to the self-assessment sheet obtained an average value of 79.90, the results are included in the good category, 2) Results the answers to the test obtained an average value of 82.62, median value of 84.38, mode value of 93.75, and a standard deviation of 11.36. The highest value obtained was 96.88 and the lowest value obtained was 43.75. Based on the acquisition category the test score is a good category.

Abstract

Observation results on students of class VIII.B, SMP Negeri 1 Jaya, show that student learning outcomes about materials are still relatively low. This causes because teachers in learning do not use multi-method models and make students difficulty in teaching materials that improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to improve student learning outcomes in class VIII.B of SMP Negeri 1 Jaya in natural science learning through the STAD type cooperative model. This research is a classroom action research using a STAD type cooperative model consisting of two cycles, each cycle consisting of four people, namely planning, implementation, evolution, and reflection. The research subjects were teachers and students of class VIII.B SMP Negeri 1 Jaya. Data collection techniques using observation and tests. The results showed that: Improved student learning outcomes seen from the average value obtained in the first cycle 68.86 and 76.62 in the second cycle. From the test result data in the first cycle students the classical completeness of students was only 55.17% while in the second cycle students who had reached 86.20%. Thus learning is classically approved completely because it has exceeded the target of classical completeness. The conclusion of this study is the use of STAD type cooperative models that can improve teacher skills, student activity, and learning outcomes in science learning

Abstract

The use of drinking water in plastic packaging is very high in the community, including in the Abulyatama University cafeteria. This happens because the behavior of everyone does not want to be a bother and has the ability to buy it. Such habits will have an impact on the production of very high plastic waste in the environment. Research on developing the behavior of biology education students in minimizing plastic waste on the Abulyatama University through the use of reusable bottles for their drinking water needs was carried out in March 2020. The research aims to determine the level of knowledge and behavior of biology education students in an effort to minimize plastic waste on the Abulyatama University. With the use of a reusable bottle for drinking water needs. The research subjects were all students of Abulyatama University Biology Education, 32 students. The method used is a survey method with the research instrument was a questionnaire. The results showed that students' knowledge of plastic and its problems were in good category (average percentage 68), students’ behavior in using reusable bottles for their drinking water needs were in good category (average percentage 67), and there was a correspondence between student knowledge and behavior. In minimizing plastic waste on the Abulyatama University Campus by using reusable bottles for drinking water needs.

Abstract

This research aims to know about the Education Quality Improvement Strategy at State Primary School 22 Banda Aceh. The focus of research on policies, programs, strategies and discipline to the Principal, Superintendent of Schools, Teachers, Workers Filing and School Committee. Qualitative naturalistic approach used in this study with data collection tool interview, observation and documentation. Results of the study are: 1) Measures taken by the Principal and Supervisor equally mememilik desire to improve the quality of school education, but there is no cooperation. 2) Program in order to improve the quality of school education does not exist, but the teachers to deal with the learning process of their competence, prepare yourself Programme Implementation Plan (RPP). 3) Strategies to improve the quality of school education lies in the application of strict discipline, so that all teachers to teach discipline. Absorptive capacity of the subject matter is reached. 4) supporting factor in improving the quality of school education, the presence of high levels of teacher professionalism and strict discipline. Make teachers teach learners can be performed well, the quality of the learning process is created which indicate the passing standard obtain maximum (100%). Inhibiting factor in improving the quality of school education is not visible even though the school does not have a program. The implications of this research are: 1) Measures taken are not in line, do not affect the organization of education in school and will not impact on the quality of education. 2) school program does not exist, does not affect the implementation of school activities program, meaning that each element in carrying out tasks according to the program that are not integrated or not in one direction, has no effect on the graduation towards improving the quality of education. 3) strict discipline strategies make teachers in developing the learning process to be qualified, absorption of the subject matter is reached, so that these schools produce a graduation of 100% every year. 4) high teacher professionalism with high discipline, just as a contributing factor in improving the quality of school education. Do not have policies and programs, not as an inhibiting factor in improving the quality of school education..

Abstract

Preparedness for disaster risk reduction is needed in the face of disaster, especially the children and elderly who are the most vulnerable age on the risk of casualties in a disaster. Until now, even the disaster is still happening. Therefore, disaster management paradigm aimed to reduce the impact or risk of such catastrophic disaster preparedness. Understanding of disaster mitigation at primary education is one of the solutions that need to be done in Indonesia. Prepare preparedness awareness of disaster risk reduction is important because the elementary school level students are at great risk in the event of disasters especially earthquakes. The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of self-concept and knowledge of students at SDN 27 and MIN Merduati Kuta Alam sub-district of Banda Aceh on disaster risk reduction preparedness earthquake.   The research was conducted in the form of a cross sectional survey design. The population in this study were all students at SDN 27, as many as 223 and as many as 110 MIN Merduati Kuta Alam sub-district of Banda Aceh, the number of samples to be taken in this study were as many as 52 students at SDN 27 and 69 students in the MIN Merduati with stratified random sampling technique. Primary data collection method is a way to spread form questionnaire to students. Descriptive and analytical analysis with Spearman Rank Correlation coefficient by calculating the correlation coefficient. The results of knowledge in students MIN Merduati which shows that there is a correlation between the knowledge of the preparedness on students Merduati MIN (r = 0,284), knowledge on the students of SDN 27 (r = 0,210). Self-concept in students Merduati MIN is 0,792 which shows that the correlation between self-concept on student preparedness Merduati MIN (r = 0,032), self-concept in students of SDN 27 is (r = 0,165). The average value depending on the child's knowledge and preparedness MIN with mean difference (-1,174), the concept of child-MIN and preparedness with the average difference (6,493), the elementary school students with the knowledge and preparedness mean difference (-1,154), MIN child's self concept and preparedness with the average difference (6,212). The conclusion suggests that there is a relationship between children's knowledge and preparedness MIN with no knowledge of the relationship between elementary school children, elementary school children's self concept and MIN with disaster preparedness. And all the variables have a significant mean difference. There should be a study of the integration of disaster in the curriculum and the teacher's role is important in the formation of self-concept.
