Abstract

Jogi dance is a dance originating from the Riau Islands, Batam. The existence of Jogi dance first appeared in Batam and was danced with Malay forms, motifs, and movements. The Jogi dance was originally danced by a young Malay female dancer from Long Island. Young female dancers aged 15-18 years. Young age is the age when someone is said to have passed puberty and has become a teenager. The purpose of this research is to find out the reason for the existence of Jogi dance in young dancers in Batam today. The research method used is qualitative by conducting observations, interviews, literature studies, and documentation studies from Koroegrafer and Dancers who dance Jogi in Batam. The results of this study can be concluded that the involvement of young dancers in Batam towards the existence of Jogi dance still exists today, with informants and successors and heirs who preserve Jogi. Abstract

Malay land has many artistic treasures, one of which is the Persembahan Dance. The dance, which is also known as the Sekapur Sirih Dance, is a welcoming dance. With the development of the times, the Persembahan Dance also developed from sharing aspects. One aspect is the Persembahan Dance costume. Many innovations made by the people of Batam, including the studio. However, unfortunately these innovations can fade the authenticity of the Persembahan Dance costume. Malay government and institutions also paid less attention to the dance costumes of Persembahan. The purpose of this research is to provide information about the development of the Persembahan of Dance costumes in Batam. In addition, please note that the function of dance costumes is correct in the community. Research sources are obtained from photographs, videos, personal documents, websites, memos or notes. In this study, researchers also used the function of dance sociology according to MC. Neil Lowny. In using the Persembahan Dance costume, everyone should be able to uphold their authenticity more. Abstract

The Matirto Suci Dewi Kandri dance was created by looking at the cultural background of the people in the village of Kandri which can be seen from the activities of the Kandri Village community namely religion, art, livelihoods, customs and cultural traditions that become the habits of the people of the village of Kandri so that some from the cultural embodiment of the Kandri Village community, it is seen in the Matirto Suci Dewi Kandri dance. This study aims to determine and describe cultural correlations with the Matirto Suci Dewi Kandri dance. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive method with an emic and ethical approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interview and documentation researchers use as a tool to obtain qualitative data. This research data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion conclusions. The results showed that the cultural correlation of the Kandri Village through the Matirto Suci Dewi Kandri dance was formed through the Matirto Suci Dewi Kandri dance performance, namely (1) movement, in the Matirto Suci dance there were movements that were mbanyu mili and clever as the nature of the people of the gentle and hardworking Candri Village . (2) accompaniment, using a typical musical instrument from Kandri namely Kempling. (3) fashion, using a white cloth depicts holiness and simplicity. Abstract

Barongan, a kind of mask that has face resembling a lion with beautiful feathers decoration, serves as an entertainment in the community. Barongan or most commonly known as Singo Barong, has its own folklore that tells a story of a huge animal (a lion) played by two men, one holds its head and the other hold the tail. The objectives of this research are to describe the performance?s forms and the existence of Barongan Kusumojoyo from Gebang village, Bonang district, Demak regency. The research employed a qualitative method by only focusing on the performance?s forms and existence. The writer employs herself to collect the data, by doing observation, interviews, and some documentation. The researcher used triangulation technique to validify the data; which includes source triangulation, method triangulation, and theory triangulation. The findings of this research show that the performance?s forms of Barongan Kusumojoyo can be seen from its presentation structure and the elements of show. The elements of show appear in motion, makeup, fashion, property, musical accompaniment, and its stage layout. The existence of Barongan Kusumojoy can be seen from the process of training to staging.  Barongan performances are made up of imitating animal movements and are improvised in a lively accompaniment. Abstract

Warak ngendhog was originally a toy that was sold and then used as a mascot for the dhugdheran procession. The change later happened that Warak Ngendhog was used as a source of inspiration for the artist to create the Warak Dhugdher dance. Since its presence, the dance brings influence in the city of Semarang. This influence led to the emergence of new forms of Warak dance. This fact shows that the Ngendhog Warak underwent a change to dance Warak Dhugdher. This research aims to identify the form of transformation that occurred and explain the progress of dance Warak Dhugdher. This research is a qualitative study using the etnokoreological approach, which is a dance analysis system that is not merely discussing textual, but also contextual. Analysis of transformation using adaptation theory. The results showed that transformation occurred due to the adaptation process manifested through the creation of dance. Forms of transformation that occur include textual and contextual transformations. Textual transformation is manifested from the addition of the dance choreography aspect as an art show. Warak as property on the dance changes on the structure of the head shape, stomach pattern, and absence of Endhog. The contextual transformation that occurs indicates a change in form, meaning, and function that causes development. The Warak transformation of Ngendhog does not stop at the dance form of Warak Dhugdher, but it can develop into another Warak dance form.

Abstract

The Lengger Laut dance has been staged in several events abroad and in the country, one of the performances abroad in Desingel Belgium in the Europalia Festival on October 18, 2017. One of the performances performed in the country is at the Managing Arts Grant on the 29th August 2014 in Surakarta, the 2015 Helatari performance at the Salihara Theater building in Jakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine the existence of the Lengger Laut dance by Otniel Tasman. The Lengger Laut dance was created by a young photographer from Banyumas named Otniel Tasman. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, ethical and emic approaches, and structural and functional approaches. Data collection techniques obtained from observation, interviews and documentation. The technique of analyzing data uses data reduction, data presentation, draw conclusions. The data validity technique is carried out by triangulation of sources, technical triangulation and time triangulation. The results showed that the existence of the Sea Lengger Dance still exists, proven by the function of the show and the spread of the development of the Sea Lengger dance performance. Lengger Laut dance is included in contemporary dance nuances of Banyumas popular tradition that has been developed following the times. The Lengger Laut dance by Otniel Tasman has elements of the performance consisting of motion, performer, accompaniment or music, theme, fashion or costume, make-up, venue or stage, lighting and sound system. Abstract

       Reog Trimudho Rahayu art tells about people who fight for throne in the past. This art comes from Boyolali Regency. This study is focused on the show of the Reog Trimudho Rahayu and the influence of the art on social attitudes of society. The aims of this research is to describe the show of the Reog Trimudho Rahayu art and the influence of it in Gatak village, Ampel, Boyolali Regency. Describtive qualitative is used as the method in this study. The approach which is used in the emic ethical approach. Data are collected by doing observation, interview, and documentation. The data are analyzied by using Ashead theory. The validity technique which are used are source triangulation, method triangulation, and time triangulation. The influence of this art on soscial attitudes of society in Gatak village, Ampel, Boyolali Regency is on the form of show. It includes movement, actor, cosmetics and cotumes, music or accompaniment, stage or lighting. Positive attitude includes cooperation, solidarity, and tolerance. The suggestion for Reog Trimudho Rahayu group is creating new innovations in working on movements, music, and clothing so they dont look monotonous, so that people are more enthusiastic to see the Reog Trimudho Rahayu.

Abstract

Dancing knowledge in Indonesia is evolving. In the beginning, dance was used as a ritual. But with formal education dance interdisciplinary with other subject, such as science. Positivistic dance science is contrary with Indonesian traditional dance which is dominant with ethnicity, and that makes kinesiology not too well developed in Indonesia. The aim of this article is to study traditional dance movement through kinesiology. The author uses qualitative method with critical and creative analytical, also studying the theory regarding traditional dance movement and kinesiology. The finding of this article is kinesiology can be used to analyze traditional dance movement technique regarding the joint movement and the driving muscle. Traditional dance movement practicing also about 'feel management' training, so the particular 'feel' is still enjoyable for the audience. Identical movement with different appreciation will produce different movement, so it takes balance in practicing movement technique and 'feel management' training. In order to support movement technique training, artist and dance teacher can study it through kinesiology. Keywords: Traditional dance, kinesiology, analysis, and movement technique

Abstract

This study aims to compare the similarities and differences of Beksan Lawung Ageng in marriage between GKR Hayu and KPH Notonegoro in 2013 with those displayed on the 30th anniversary of Sultan Hamengku Buwono X's year 2019. Qualitative research methods and ethnocoreology were used in this study with analytical descriptions other than using hermeneutics which is a theory of interpretation also uses ethnochoreology, history, sociology, anthropology and semiotics approaches. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and study documentation. Data analysis is performed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Test the validity of the data by triangulation. The results of this study indicate that there are changes and differences in the function and form of the Beksan Lawung Ageng at GKR Hayu's marriage to KPH Notonegoro in 2013 with the 30th anniversary of Sultan Hamengku Buwono X's throne. Besides, there are also factors and reasons for changes in function and differences. the form of Beksan Lawung Ageng at the wedding of GKR Hayu with KPH Notonegoro in 2013 and Beksan Lawung Ageng at the 30th anniversary of Sultan Hamengku Buwono X's reign which revealed the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Karaton policy in the era of Sultan Hamengku Buwono X in the protection and development of dance heirlooms.    Keywords: Lawung Ageng dance, Yogyakarta classical dance, Yogyakarta palace, royal wedding, accession to the throne

Abstract

Mata pelajaran Seni Budaya memiliki peranan dalam pembentukan pribadi peserta didik yangharmonis dan mengembangkan kecerdasan majemuk. Tari Lenggang Patah Sembilan merupakanmateri praktik tari pada mata pelajaran ini untuk siswa kelas X di SMA se-Labuhan Deli, namunsiswa kelas X MIA di SMA Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli mengalami kesulitan untuk mencapai standarkelulusan yang telah ditetapkan atau dengan kata lain hasil belajar siswa tergolong rendah. Olehkarena itu, dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswamenggunakan metode demonstrasi pada materi tari Lenggang Patah Sembilan. Pendekatanpenelitian ini berjenis PTK yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitulembar observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus daya serap individu dan klasikal. Hasilpenelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakanmetode demonstrasi pada materi Tari Lenggang Patah Sembilan di SMA Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli.Terlihat bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II memperoleh persentase tuntas sebanyak 86,11%atau lebih dari standar daya serap klasikal yaitu 80% sehingga tindakan PTK (metode demonstrasi)dihentikan pada siklus II. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh saran agar guru menggunakan metodedemonstrasi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa khususnya pada praktik tari atau mata pelajaranSeni Budaya.
