Specifically, it engages a holistic perspective to research the connection between personal and professional life experiences that shaped their teacher identity. This study tries to look into to what extent the teacher identity is constructed during English education master program. The researcher gathered reflection writing from the participants about their life stories, journey, and their motivation of continuing study. Their institution and formal courses are not the only aspect that could construct their identity. Work experiences and others’ sharing stories also give the big influence on their teacher identity. The results of the study show that students generally always use smartphones and use social media in all their activities. Students use a lot of social media in exploring vocabulary and increasing vocabulary mastery, learning as well as building networks for native speakers (Muttersprachler), and making social media a means of learning by accessing foreign-language songs and interesting media in student foreign language learning. ABSTRACT This study discusses the vocabulary of Sundanese which has similar in forms and different in meanings to the Javanese vocabulary. The purpose of this study is to find out (1) words in Sundanese which form is the same as the word in Javanese but different in meanings and (2) words in Sundanese which lexical form and meaning are the same as words in Javanese but they’re in a different variety (familiar variety or respect/high variety). The method used is the matching method (Sudaryanto, 1996). The findings of this study indicate that some words in Sundanese have the same form but different meanings with Javanese, such as the word 'tea' as a personal pronoun or particle in Sundanese but means 'tea' as a drink in Javanese. Some words in Sundanese also indicate that a word that is considered to be a variety of respect, is considered a familiar variety in Javanese, such as the word 'Wengi' in Sundanese and Javanese which means 'night'. In Sundanese, the word ‘wengi’ is a variety of respectful languages, while in Javanese ‘wengi ’it is a familiar variety. This study reveals the linguistic phenomena of most language speakers in heterogeneous societies, namely Sundanese and Javanese and both have many vocabularies with the same form but have different in meaning. Abstract Mass media is one of the media that greatly influences the understanding of human language and is one of the pathways for developing good and correct guidance and development of Indonesian. Errors are often found in the process of forming words or errors that have the potential to change the meaning and shape of words. This article is based on Mini Research results on the topic; Error Analysis in the News Texts Main Page Newspapers (Descriptive-Analytical Study of Jambi Ekspres Daily News Texts December 26, 2018). This study focuses on the errors of the standard Indonesian language, namely sentences that have ambiguity or mean and ambiguous meaning, words that are influenced by various conversational languages, words that do not have the correct spelling, words that are influenced by foreign languages, and words that do not match the context of the sentence. Data obtained in the form of words, speech or behaviour, are not expressed in the form of numbers or statistical numbers but rather in a qualitative form, by giving an image according to what it is. The aim is to describe the symptoms that exist in the data without giving any form of treatment to the subject to be studied. Keywords: language errors, written language, standard language, spelling, newspapers.

It has been a consensus that learning styles have been a predominant factor of success in master's degree program. Since the preferences of learning styles are affected by students' cultural background, this study was carried out to explore the perceptual learning style preferences of international Master’s students in a Malaysian university. Sixty students consisting of Indonesian, Iranian, and Libyan were involved in the present study. The findings reveal that Indonesian and Libyan students tended to be more kinesthetic/tactile learners while Iranian tended to be more visual learners. This study suggested practitioners use various learning strategies to cater the learning style preferences of the students.
