Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk perlawanan perempuan terhadap budaya patriarki dalam tradisi kawin tangkap di Sumba melalui tokoh Magi Diela dalam novel Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam karya Dian Purnomo. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif untuk menggambarkan bentuk-bentuk perlawanan tokoh utama. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan teori feminisme psikoanalisis Karen Horney diterapkan untuk memahami dinamika psikologis perlawanan tersebut. Sumber data utama penelitian ini adalah novel, dengan data berupa kata, frasa, kalimat, hingga wacana yang mencerminkan bentuk perlawanan Magi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pembacaan berulang dan pencatatan, sementara analisis data menggunakan teknik alir dan hermeneutik untuk menggali makna mendalam dari perlawanan tokoh terhadap patriarki. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlawanan Magi Diela mencakup tiga bentuk, yaitu mendekati orang lain (mencari dukungan emosional), melawan orang lain (tindakan fisik dan verbal), dan menjauhi orang lain (menghindari situasi menindas). Perjuangan Magi tidak hanya mencerminkan keberanian melawan norma patriarki, tetapi juga menggambarkan dinamika internal perempuan dalam menghadapi trauma dan tekanan sosial. Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa tindakan individu dapat menjadi simbol penting dalam membangun kesadaran kolektif untuk melawan ketidakadilan gender

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the morphology in the reading text "Malin Kundang" by Dini Ayu, which is an adaptation of a classical Indonesian legend. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods to identify and analyze morphological processes, including affixation, reduplication, and composition. The results of the analysis show that there are four types of affixation processes: (1) prefixation, (2) suffixation, (3) infixation, and (4) confixation, as well as the use of compound words and reduplication which enrich the language structure in the text. These findings provide insight into the linguistic creativity of authors and the contribution of morphological elements to the meaning and function of narrative in literary works. The research is expected to enrich the study of literary linguistics and provide recommendations for teaching language and literature in education.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the learning strategies used by teachers at SDN 2 Mata Ie-Aceh Besar in fostering student appreciation for literary works, using qualitative research methods, so that data is collected through observation, interviews comparing student work results from 3 meetings. The research results show that in learning activities teachers use strategies learning, namely: 1) reading local literary folk tales loudly and clearly in front of the class entitled "Mentikoh Betuah", 2) using visual and audio media in learning, 3) using school infrastructure in the form of a library. The teacher's various efforts in learning have succeeded in fostering students' appreciation of literary works and students' understanding of the cultural values ​​contained in local literary works. Buru plays an active and creative role in designing interesting and meaningful learning activities so that learning objectives are achieved.

Abstract

This research aims to identify factors of language difficulties among Arabic-speaking students at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta from Yemen in learning Indonesian. The research method used is qualitative research with interviews as the data collection technique. The process involves open-ended questions that allow respondents to explain their views in detail, while the researcher takes notes, analyzing the data collected. The results of this research are that there are two factors of difficulty in speaking Indonesian among Arabic speakers from Yemen, students at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, namely internal factors such as feeling foreign to Indonesian, significant differences in structure and vocabulary with Arabic, and a lack of guidance in the learning process. And the second is external factors such as the use of regional languages ​​by the surrounding environment which makes understanding and communication difficult.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the modulation used in translating metaphors in L.M. Montgomery’s The Golden Road using the modulation classification theory proposed by Vinay and Darbelnet. While previous studies on modulation mainly focus on equivalence and meaning shift, there is limited research exploring the specific role of modulation method in translating metaphors, especially in literary works. To address this gap, this study utilizes a descriptive-comparative qualitative method, the data for this study are metaphorical expressions translated with modulation from the English novel The Golden Road and its translation into Indonesian titled Hari-Hari Bahagia by L.M. Montgomery. The result of this study reveals that out of 181 data, 6 out of 10 types of modulation applied by the translator in this novel are explicative modulation (51%), abstract for concrete (23%), change of symbols (20%), negation of the opposite (3%), active to passive (vice versa) (2%), and one part for another (1%). This study shows that metaphor translation not only focuses on word equivalence but also requires creativity and a deep understanding of both languages to maintain the essence and uniqueness of the source text.

Abstract

Evaluation of improving the quality of education to measure the achievement of student learning in the field of education is called a national assessment. This national assessment focuses on improving student achievement in the fields of literacy, numeracy, character, active learning processes, and a supportive learning atmosphere. National assessments are mandatory for all schools in Indonesia, including SMP Negeri 13 Semarang. This study was conducted to analyze and reconstruct the contents of the national assessment carried out at SMP Negeri 13 Semarang. This study was compiled with a qualitative research scheme that uses a qualitative descriptive method using three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained from this study indicate that several questions in the fields of literacy and numeracy still need to be reviewed and adjusted to the cognitive level of students. The results of the reconstruction provided in this study are expected to provide new and useful insights in the field of education.

Abstract

This study examines the challenges of historical semantics research in the Arabic language in the modern era. While historical semantics investigates the evolution of word meanings over time, existing literature often overlooks the complex social, political, and religious factors influencing these changes, especially within Arabic. The gap lies in limited integration of socio-political contexts and contemporary linguistic shifts in semantic analysis. This research aims to fill that gap by analyzing semantic changes in Arabic words through both synchronic and diachronic approaches, emphasizing the socio-cultural and religious dynamics involved. A qualitative method combining document analysis and semantic theory review was employed to trace semantic shifts and identify key problematics. The study reveals that modern influences such as colonialism, digitalization, and ideological conflicts significantly affect meaning transformations, posing methodological and ethical challenges for researchers. Findings highlight that the reinterpretation of key terms often reflects broader socio-political struggles and cultural negotiations. The study concludes that a nuanced, context-aware approach is essential for accurate semantic historical analysis of Arabic, balancing respect for traditional meanings with recognition of evolving usages. This contributes to a deeper understanding of language dynamics and offers a framework for future semantic research in Arabic and other languages with rich historical backgrounds

Abstract

This study aims to develop literary learning to improve students' creative writing skills in internalizing local cultural values through the reinterpretation of folk tales into children's stories. This study uses a Classroom Action Research approach with two cycles. Each cycle involves planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study indicate that the application of a learning model based on the reinterpretation of folk tales into children's stories is effective in improving children's literary writing skills rooted in local cultural values. This is evidenced by the improvement in students' work from the pre-cycle, cycle I, to cycle II, with average scores of 68.3, 76.4, and 85.2, respectively. A total of 28 children's stories were produced, each containing local cultural values in a relevant and easily understandable form for children. Students not only improved technically in terms of writing structure, language, and characters but also demonstrated the ability to creatively and contextually incorporate local cultural values. This learning process encouraged them to reflect on their regional cultural heritage and channel it through educational and engaging children's literature
