Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into educational practices has brought about significant transformations in cross-disciplinary learning processes, including religious education. PAI which fundamentally emphasizes moral formation and spiritual development, faces serious challenges in adapting to AI-based learning environments. This study aims to examine the pedagogical, epistemological, and ethical implications of implementing AI-based PAI learning. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review by analyzing various literature related to AI in education, religious pedagogy, and technology ethics. The results of the study indicate that AI enables personalized learning according to individual learners' needs, increases learning accessibility, and supports the development of more interactive learning content and evidence-based data analysis for curriculum development. However, the main challenges relate to content accuracy, the ethical use of AI, and teacher readiness in integrating this technology into PAI learning. This article recommends strengthening teacher training and developing an adaptive PAI curriculum that aligns with the demands of Society 5.0 without neglecting the fundamental values of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interpretation of inheritance verses according to Asghar Ali Engineer and its relevance to gender justice in modern contexts. The method used is library research with a qualitative approach, examining Engineer's works as primary sources and classical-contemporary tafsir literature as comparison. The results show that Engineer uses social hermeneutics that understands inheritance verses as a response to 7th-century Arab society conditions, so the 2:1 ratio is considered adjustable to changes in modern women's economic roles. However, this study finds fundamental weaknesses in Engineer's approach that separates inheritance verses from the Islamic family economic system as a whole and ignores the principle of inter-verse connections. In conclusion, justice in Islamic inheritance is not measured by mathematical equality, but by the balance of rights and obligations. The solution to injustice in inheritance practices is through education on understanding the complete Islamic family system, not by changing the clear provisions of the Qur'an.

Abstract

This study critically reinterprets Surah Yasin beyond its dominant ritualistic framing by developing an interdisciplinary model of Qur’anic cosmology that integrates Qur’anic exegesis, Islamic astronomy, and environmental science. Existing scholarship on the Qur’an and science remains largely fragmentary, relying on verse-based analyses that overlook the structural coherence of a single surah as a unified system of meaning. Addressing this gap, the study employs a qualitative library-based approach using thematic tafsir combined with interdisciplinary analysis of celestial and environmental phenomena. The findings demonstrate that Surah Yasin presents a systemic representation of the cosmos, encompassing celestial motion, orbital dynamics (falak), temporal cycles, and ecological processes as interconnected components within a coherent framework. This integrated structure reflects patterned regularities that align conceptually with contemporary scientific perspectives without reducing the Qur’anic text to scientific claims. The study concludes that Surah Yasin can be conceptualized as a model of Qur’anic cosmology that functions as an epistemological framework for understanding the relationship between revelation and the natural world. This research contributes to advancing interdisciplinary discourse on Islam and science by shifting the analytical focus from fragmented verse-based interpretation toward a surah-based systemic paradigm.

Abstract

The transformation of zakat al-Fitr payment practices from staple food to cash has become an increasingly prominent phenomenon, particularly in Indonesia, and has sparked significant debate regarding its legal validity. This study aims to examine the legal rulings and methods of deriving evidence (istidlāl) concerning zakat al-Fitr from the perspective of the four madhhabs. Employing a normative-comparative approach based on library research, the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical Islamic texts (Kutub al-Turāṡ) are analyzed within the framework of uṣūl al-fiqh. The findings reveal that the Shāfiʿī madhhab along with the Mālikī and Ḥanbalī schools rejects the payment of zakat al-Fitr in cash, as it is considered a taʿabbudī act of worship that must adhere to the form of staple food as prescribed in the Hadith. In contrast, the Ḥanafī madhhab permits it by emphasizing considerations of public benefit (maṣlaḥah) and the equivalence of economic value between food and money. These findings underscore that differences in ijtihād not only reflect methodological diversity but also demonstrate the flexibility of Islamic law in responding to social dynamics contextually.

Abstract

This approach aligns with Muhammad Syahrur’s Hudud concept, which emphasizes flexibility in sharia implementation. In contrast, FM2P views Qibla errors as serious violations that may invalidate prayers or even constitute apostasy. This study aims to explore: (1) the FM2P's view on errors in the direction of the Qibla and the attitudes of intolerance that accompany it, (2) the relevance of Muhammad Syahrur’s Hudud concept to Qibla errors and intolerance. The research method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, document analysis, and related literature reviews. The results of the study are; First, FM2P members view deviation from the Qibla direction as a serious error that can invalidate prayers, demanding absolute accuracy and judging those who reject the Qibla alignment as rejecting sharia. Second, analysis of the Al-Barkah Mosque and the Andalusia Mosque in Parepare shows that the azimuth of haad al-adna is approximately 292° 15′–292° 24′ and haad al-a'la refers directly to the Kaaba.

Abstract

This study analyzes child exploitation in online unregistered marriages in Parepare City through the perspectives of Human Rights and Maqasid Sharia. The absence of legal recognition places children at risk of losing fundamental rights, including legal identity and protection. These practices contradict Human Rights principles and the Maqasid Sharia objective of protecting offspring (hifz al-nasl). The objectives of the study include: (1) identifying forms of exploitation experienced by children due to online unregistered marriage, (2) analyzing violations of children's rights from a human rights perspective, and (3) evaluating this practice from the perspective of Maqasid Syariah. The study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, involving document studies, interviews, and data analysis. The results of the study are; First, the exploitation experienced by children encompasses economic, social, psychological, and administrative dimensions due to the lack of state legal protection for online unregistered marriages. Second, online unregistered marriages constitute a structural human rights violation because they place children in a situation without state protection for their basic rights. Third, the practice of online unregistered marriages results in significant harm to children, thus contradicting the objectives of sharia, which prioritizes the well-being of humanity.
