Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the value of Islamic education and the value of character education of leaders through the traditional song Lir-ilir by Sunan Kalijaga. This study used descriptive qualitative methods and library research. Data was collected from language objects or primary sources using Lir-ilir songs studied. Researchers used documentation methods, namely seeking information about existing variables in words, sentences, and implicit or explicit messages from written and non-literary documents from various literary sources. Secondary data sources include books, scientific articles, magazines, and journals. The technique used in this study is semiotic analysis; the words of the Lir-ilir song are placed in a position as a sign system which the meaning needs to be analyzed. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the implied meaning of Lir-ilir song on Islamic educational values is as follows: shari'ah values, creed values, moral values to Allah SWT, moral values to others, moral values to the environment. 2) the implied meaning of Lir-ilir song on the value of character education of leaders are discipline values, religious values, creativity, environmental care, communication, responsibility, honesty, hard work, the spirit of control and support, and democracy.

Abstract

Technology is evolving rapidly, affecting education. One of the current impacts is the availability of audio-visual videos as learning tools to enhance student engagement. This research aims to investigate the influence of audio-visual video media on students' learning motivation. This study builds upon previous research that revealed low student motivation in learning and confirmed low interest among the students in the researcher's environment. This research was conducted in February 2023, involving a sample of 20 fourth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Condong Catur in Yogyakarta. The researcher collaborated with the homeroom teacher, observed classroom activities, and administered post-lesson comprehension tests. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through observations, assessments of student comprehension, and documentation. The research findings demonstrate a positive and significant impact of audio-visual video media on enhancing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Academic performance is an important indicator of the final results of teaching and learning activities. Attendance as a determinant of academics is still a matter of debate. This research aims to examine student attendance in class on student performance at FKIP UNIS Tangerang for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. Researchers utilized a sample size of 216 which were obtained simply at random (Slovin, sampling error 1%). Data collection used an online questionnaire which had been validated and distributed using the WhatsApp application. The estimation results using multiple regression analysis showed that student attendance in class contributed significantly to determining academic performance, while self-efficacy and previous academic abilities had not been proven to be determinants of academic performance. This finding implies that students maintain an attendance rate of at least 75% so that their academic performance is better. Monitoring student attendance can be used as an instrument to maintain the quality of higher education.

Abstract

A decision-making process of vocational high schools in improving the quality of competitive graduates with the aim of solving problems that occur at school so that it is necessary to have the accurate model so that decisions can be accepted and can run well, the purpose of this study is specifically to discuss and gain new knowledge and discoveries to create a chart model of the decision-making process in improving the quality of the competitive graduates in Vocational High Schools, The method in this study is descriptive methods with a Qualitative approach to provide a systematic, factual and accurate description of the facts of the object of research, The research was conducted in four (4) months at Bistek Vocational High School (Business and Technology) Bekasi, the research activities were carried out in three stages including the preparation stage, the research implementation stage and the final stage of preparing the research report, The results of this study were the decision-making process carried out by SWOT analysis, the decision-making process had five appropriate steps, the decision-making process with a rational model by considering aspects that had a positive or negative impact based on a system of ethical values by prioritizing honesty, responsibility, good faith, respect and humility, harmony and tolerance as well. Patience and sincerity to forgive each other, which was realized in the pattern of relationships or relationships between patience and forgiveness of conditions that can be done through patience and sincerity to forgive each other, all components of the school environment.

Abstract

Introducing digital literacy to children is very important from an early age. Gadgets have features that trigger challenges as well as fun for children so that children need to receive digital literacy education from an early age to teach children to use gadgets wisely. This research aims to focus on picture books as one of the interesting educational media for early childhood. The book entitled Gambar Lucu Mika, which is a non-text model book published by Pusat Perbukuuan (Pusbuk), Kemendikbudristek, by Tyas Widjati, was deliberately chosen because it contains the basic concept of digital literacy education, namely teaching children to be wise in playing gadgets. Through a qualitative approach and semiotic analysis method of Ferdinan De Saussure's model, it was found that the combination of text and illustration image which is a signifier can contain a signified in the form of associative meaning of both. The meaning revealed is the difference in meaning that represents the feelings of each emoticon sent as a basic knowledge in digital literacy education. Conflict resolution without the help of parents in this storybook teaches children to be able to take responsibility and solve their own problems. Therefore, the picture storybook Gambar Lucu Mika can be used as a medium for digital literacy education from an early age so that children can be wiser in using gadgets.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to determine the differences in implementation of the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum, obstacles to curriculum implementation, and the effectiveness of the 2013 Curriculum and the Independent Curriculum on learning in primary schools. This research used descriptive qualitative methods, the research subjects were the principal, grade 4 and 5 teachers and grade 4 and 5 students of UPT SD Negeri 29 Gresik. Data collection instruments used in-depth interviews and observation. The data in this research was in the form of sentences which will be analysed in depth. Research data collection was carried out in June 2023. Research procedures were carried out in stages, namely (1) the planning stage including a survey of curriculum use on research subjects, (2) the preparation stage by preparing the instruments that will be used to collect data and preparing data sources, (3) implementation stage and (4) reporting stage. The results of the research demonstrates that the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum is not optimal, because several obstacles have not been resolved, while the Independent Curriculum has the potential to provide a better learning experience and focuses on the characteristics of students.

Abstract

The inquiry learning process can train students to develop knowledge, skills, and practices. The problem in inquiry-based learning lies in the challenges of developing the knowledge, skills, and practices required by students. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of geographical inquiry in terms of critical thinking skills, learning achievement, and self-efficacy. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a population of tenth-grade students at MAN 1 Ambon City, with the research conduction was in March 2023. The sample class was selected using purposive sampling with instruments consisting of tests and questionnaires analysed using the independent t-test. The research results indicate that the significance value of the t-test for critical thinking skills, learning achievement, and geography students' self-efficacy is less than 0.05, thus rejecting the null hypothesis (Ho). Therefore, the Geographical Inquiry learning method is effective for use in school-based learning.

Abstract

The enrollment of new students (PPDB) at SMP/SMA Negeri Ragunan Jakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year is conducted in May-August 2023. This PPDB process differs from regular schools because this school is specialized for athletes. This study aims to explain the implementation of PPDB at SMP/SMA Negeri Ragunan Jakarta, using a descriptive qualitative research method. The results of this study indicate that the process and procedures for implementing PPDB at SMP/SMA Ragunan are already good in adhering to the specified PPDB standards. This article is expected to provide feedbacks to relevant parties to conduct an evaluation of the PPDB implementation to make it even better than before and to increase awareness among external communities regarding the PPDB process at SMP/SMA Negeri Ragunan Jakarta.

Abstract

This research was conducted because it was still found that learning tends to be boring, which has an impact on student motivation and learning outcomes in Civics learning content in elementary schools. The lack of optimal use of innovative learning tools is one of the contributing factors. For this reason, the application of interactive media and LKPD based on live worksheets is the best solution. This research aims to determine the improvement in Civics learning outcomes in the form of insight into students' social and cultural diversity through the application of interactive PowerPoint learning media assisted by LKPD live worksheets. The research subjects were 20 fifth grade students at State Elementary School 59, East City, Gorontalo City. Data was collected using the essay test method. The results of the research show that there is an increase in insight into socio-cultural diversity as a result of civics learning in class V students. This can be seen in student learning results in initial observations with an average score of 69 and learning completeness of 40%. The learning outcomes in cycle I were an average of 72 and learning completeness was 65%. In cycle II the average was 81 and learning completeness was 90%. This research found that the application of innovative learning tools in the form of interactive learning media assisted by LKPD live worksheets can have a direct impact on the content of Civics learning in the form of learning outcomes and has implications for accompanying impacts that can foster student independence, interest and involvement in learning.
