Abstract

This research aims to reveal the strategies used by the pricipal of Madrasah in increasing the competency and professionalism of Islamic religious education teachers at MA Al Amin Malang. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, observations, and analysis of related documents. The research results show that the Principal of Madrasah use various strategies, including continuous training and development, providing support and recognition, as well as ongoing coaching and supervision. These strategies aim to improve the quality of teaching and learning, inspire teacher motivation, and strengthen commitment to the profession. The implications of this research are the important role of the Principal in creating a work environment that is conducive to developing teacher professionalism, as well as the need for investment in ongoing training and coaching. This research was conducted over a period of time from July to December 2023. It is epected that this research can provide valuable input for the development of more effective school management policies and practices in Islamic religious education institutions.

Abstract

The problem of decreasing interest in learning students in Medan is a problem that often occurs at various levels of education; therefore, efforts must be made to find out the cause of the problem. Thus, this study aims to reveal the problem of decreasing interest in learning students at SMPS Al-Washliyah 27 Amplas. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study approach. Data collections of this study are observation, interview, and documentation study techniques with Miles and Huberman analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The research was conducted on 17 October–20 October 2022. The subjects of the study were students and teachers at SMPS Al-Washliyah 27 Amplas. The results revealed that the problem of decreasing interest in learning students at SMPS Al-Washliyah 27 Amplas became a high category of problems caused by 2 factors, namely internal and external which caused students and educators to have difficulty overcoming them. However, educators still try to overcome the problem of decreasing demand for learning by implementing good learning strategies. However, the efforts that have been made lack of support from students, the environment, and other related parties have caused difficulties in overcoming the problem of decreasing interest in learning students.

Abstract

This research is urgent regarding multicultural education in the 21st century with a focus on integrating the values of historical awareness and human rights, including harmony in multicultural societies. The study employs a mixed methods approach, with data collection through surveys conducted on January 24, 2022. The aim of this research is to understand Multicultural Education in the 21st Century: Integrating the Values of Historical Awareness and Human Rights. The findings of this research indicate that the incorporation of historical values within the context of human rights provides a profound understanding of past events and their impact on current social conditions. Understanding history is crucial in preventing the repetition of mistakes related to human rights violations and in valuing human dignity comprehensively. The ability to empathize with history also plays a significant role in building reconciliation and peace.

Abstract

The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia in 2020 caused the learning system throughout Indonesia to change drastically. This happens at all levels of education, including at the elementary school level. Several previous studies stated that there was an increase in student grades, but the character and effectiveness of learning actually decreased. This research was carried out to determine the relationship between online learning and the honest character of class III students at Setu 02 State Elementary School after the Covid-19 pandemic. This research, which was carried out in 2023, used quantitative methods with product moment correlation analysis techniques using the Microsoft Excel application. This research took samples from class III students at SDN Setu 02 from the student population in Setu sub-district using probability sampling. The correlation coefficient from this research is 0.653 which is on a scale of 0.41 – 0.70, which is sufficient. So, the results of this research are that there is a sufficient correlation between online learning and the honest character of class III students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide recommendations for the improvement of the MBKM program, which has been facing challenges at the program level. MBKM is a great program for students to develop their competencies and skills so that they can meet the qualifications of DUDI upon graduation. This study used a mixed method, which involved a literature review and discussions and interviews with program managers, lecturers, and students regarding the implementation of MBKM to date. The results of the study showed an increase in the number of students participating in the MBKM program each year. Students felt the benefits of participating in the MBKM program to gain experience, competencies, soft and hard skills. However, there are still some challenges related to the implementation of the conversion of course credits, the implementation time, and the limited program quota. These issues should be considered so that the program can be improved in the future, with careful planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Abstract

Cahaya Bunda Community is a non-formal school established to assist street children on the banks of the Kalimas Red Bridge River who do not attend school or who have been dropped out of school to get more positive learning activities. This research aims to analyse the value of independent character and mutual assistance in the Cahaya Bunda Community. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques in this study used triangulation techniques, namely: observation, interviews, and documentation and data  analysis in research using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the research that has been carried out can be concluded that the main values of independent character and mutual assistance in the Cahaya Bunda Community have run very well in the independent character of children, including hard work in learning seriously, creatively having initiative in learning, courage in expressing opinions, and responsibility in self-discipline while learning. In the character of mutual assistance, children can cooperate in group discussions, solidarity, love to help fellow friends, and respect the opinions of others. It can be concluded that the value analysis of independent character and mutual assistance of children of the Cahaya Bunda Community has been fully carried out well.

Abstract

Challenges in learning language skills are still often found in Indonesian elementary schools. This affects children's ability to understand the information needed in the knowledge transfer process. One of the reasons is the use of learning media that does not look attractive. Referring to existing problems, the aim of this research is to develop learning media in the form of electronic flashcards and test its suitability as a medium for learning Indonesian for Class I Khairul Uswah Private Elementary School which focuses on reading skills. This research was conducted in 2023. The method used is the Research and Development (RnD) method by utilizing the 4D approach model and using a validity test consisting of two validity tests, namely a validity test by media experts and also a validity test by language experts. using a questionnaire instrument with a Likert scale. The results were in the form of a percentage value of 92.5% for the linguist validity test and 93.3% for the media expert validity test, as well as a value obtained in the presentation of 92.9% for the combined score which was included in the category Very good. This means that the E-flashcard learning media is suitable and can be used as a medium for learning Indonesian for Class I Elementary School.

Abstract

This study evaluated the impact of the Kampus Mengajar program as part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program on the improvement of literacy and numeracy skills on elementary school students. A mixed-methods approach was used, involving university students, teachers, and Elementary students in the learning process. The results of literacy and numeracy tests showed a significant increase in average scores in all classes involved. Interviews and observations revealed that students played an active role in learning innovation, providing additional motivation, and improving the quality of teaching. Supporting factors, such as school principal support and program integration into the curriculum, supported the success of implementation. However, time and resource constraints posed challenges that needed to be addressed. In conclusion, the Kampus Mengajar program has the potential to make a positive contribution to the improvement of student literacy and numeracy skills, and program development recommendations are given to improve its effectiveness in the future. These findings provide an empirical basis to support similar initiatives and contribute to the education literature in Indonesia.

Abstract

The activeness of students in participating in learning in class V of Kanisius Kintelan I Elementary School in science lessons was not yet seen and at the end of learning the learning outcomes of many students still received low scores. This study aims to test the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to increase student activity and learning outcomes in science lessons on the water cycle material. The water cycle material that is the focus of the research is material studied by students in class V in the even semester. This research is Classroom Action Research type, which was conducted in class V for the 2022/2023 school year at Kanisius Kintelan I Elementary School, Mergangsan District, Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out through observation during the learning process and the results of the pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. The results of observations on the learning process were discussed as qualitative data, while student test results are discussed as quantitative data. This study showed an increase in the activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade students at Kanisius Kintelan I Elementary School in the water cycle material.
