Jurnal AL - AZHAR SERI HUMANIORA merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang memuat makalah dan artikel hasil penelitian atau kajian teoristis dalam bidang Humaniora. Kata Al-Azhar berakar dari z-h-r. Verba zahara bermakna to shine, give light, be radiant, to glow, gleam, glare, shine, to blossom, be in bloom (Wehr, 1974:384). Dengan demikian kata Al-Azhar berarti sesuatu yang bersinar, yang memberi cahaya, yang berseri-seri atau yang mekar. Abstract

The school has important role to improve the quality of students. Not only in intelectual side but also for improving the quality of spiritual and piety os students. This research aims to analyse how the influence of the school environment can affect the development of spiritual quotient of student in Madrasah Pembangunan UIN Jakarta. The study method used quantitative method. The author used field research method to gain the firm and secondary data. The data collection techniques was taken by spreading questionnaire for 90 students, observation and collecting the important document. This study found that there was positive influence of the religious culture in the school could affect the positive influence in betta coefficients rate 0,372 (37%) into development of stydent’s spiritual quotient. The religious culture is unofficial effort of education out of the class containing : religious activity (duha, prayer, jama’ah prayer), good attitude among students and teacher, kind culture in the school. It suggests to all teacher to improve the religious culture in the school to make students more religious and get development of spiritual quotient.Keywords – Hidden Curriculum, Kebudayaan Religius, Kecerdasan Spiritual.

Abstract

Interrogative sentences are an important aspect of learning a foreign language. Research on Chinese interrogative sentences is still very rare, so the writer chooses to research Chinese interrogative sentences. This study aims to examine the interrogative sentences contained in the video entitled '旅行在中国 Traveling in China' on the YouTube channel 'ChinesePod'. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, using observation and note-taking techniques. The data is classified based on the type of interrogative sentence, the function and location of the question word in each interrogative sentence. The results obtained show that there are 10 types of questions with 'yes/no' answers with ten question words functioning as predicates. Then there are 7 types of questions with answers to information which are divided into three question words which function as subjects, two question words function as predicates, one question word functions as a delimiter, and one question word functions as an adverb of place.Keywords – Chinese, Interrogative Sentence, Syntax.

Abstract

Mandarin is one of an international language that is increasingly widely used but has a high level of difficulty to learn. The existing Chinese teaching methods need to be added new methods to make it more interesting, one of them is by using the Latin numeral method which is widely used in social media. This experimental research was conducted by taking respondents with the same sex and age, to prove the relationship between the independent variable (Mandarin learning process) and the dependent variable (Latin numeral method). The similarity of sounds in Latin numbers and pronunciation of Chinese Han characters (Chinese Homonym) is proven to help respondents understand the meaning of Chinese sentences more than 80%, even 4 of the 9 questions presented showed a difference in the correct answers before and after the test by more than 29%. Similar sound similarities (homonyms) between the pronunciation of Chinese Han characters and the pronunciation of numbers in Mandarin have a very important role in achieving the level of understanding of the respondents. These results indicate that Latin numerals can be used as a new way to learn Mandarin.Keywords – Chinese Teaching Methods, Latin Numeral, Homonym.

Abstract

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict lasted over half a century and has widely influenced international political currents. This article aims to unravel the roots of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, explain alleged Israeli-American and American-Arab conspiracies, and solve the peace process in the match, which all failed. This research uses qualitative research methods by utilizing a narrative approach. The data collection technique used is library research with much secondary data, including scientific articles and textbooks related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. These data are collected, validated, arranged in similar groups, and processed data analysis using content analysis methods. The results show that Palestine is getting worse in the face of Israel, while Israel is getting stronger in armaments, economy and gaining support from major powers such as the United States, Britain, and France. The research also found that the Jewish bill submitted by Benjamin Netanyahu to the Israeli Parliament can potentially increase the number of Jews and reduce the rights of Arab Muslims as a minority community. In addition, the number of groups in Palestine hindered the country’s unity and resulted in the exodus and deportation of Muslims with former Israeli citizenship.Keywords – Analysis Study, Conflict, Islamic History, Palestine-Israel.

Abstract

The decrease in the wildlife population over the last 30 years was caused by various human actions, one of them was triggered by various writings and discourses spread in society. This study aims to analyze the narration of documentary film "Seaspiracy" by Netflix, focusing on the representation of marine destruction. This study examines the representation of marine destruction in the context of texts, discourses, social practices and an ecolinguistic perspective. A qualitative approach was used by combining ecolinguistics (Stibbé, 2015) and Critical Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 1995, 2003 and 2013) and LSF (Halliday, 2014) to analyze the data in depth. The data used in this study comes from the 2021 documentary "Seaspiracy", produced by Netflix. The research findings reveal linguistic features, including metaphor, irony, and similes. Regarding grammar, humans, marine animals, and the unsustainable fishing industry were found as actors, goals and attributes. However, the highest ratio lies in animals as passive participants and fishing industry players as actors (active participants). The discourse practice shows that between Netflix and Ali Tabrizi shape the audience's perspective and understanding of environmental issues and the fishing industry. In sociocultural practice, this film raises environmental concerns to change public perceptions and encourage positive action in protecting the marine environment. From an ecolinguistic perspective, this study identifies the film "Seaspiracy" as a useful contribution due to its wide dissemination to ensure the sustainability of marine ecosystems. These findings can contribute to understanding how language and discourse shape perceptions and attitudes towards environmental issues.Keywords - Eco-Critical Discourse Analysis, Film Documentary, Transitivity.

Abstract

The MBKM programs with the right to study three semesters outside the study program aim to improve the competence of soft skills and hard skills of graduates. However, this MBKM policy raises several new problems at the grassroots level as the executor of the policy, such as problems with conversion and achievement of Intended Learning Outcomes (CPL). The purpose of this study was to find out how the MBKM policy was implemented in the Faculty of Psychology and Education, Al Azhar Indonesia University, the opportunities and problems faced by the Psychology Faculty, Al Azhar University Indonesia, in implementing the MBKM policy. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with the aim of obtaining an overview and perception of the Faculty of Psychology and Education regarding the implementation of MBKM by means of data collection techniques by observation and interviews with all study programs under the auspices of the Faculty of Psychology and Education as well as documents related to MBKM. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that technically all structural officials support MBKM activities, but at the implementation stage they still face several obstacles, that are the need to adapt the curriculum to the MBKM, the difficulty of converting the MBKM program to study program courses, especially subjects that are expertise, as well as the student quota given by The Ministry of Education and Culture which is very low.Keywords - MBKM Curriculum, Opportunities and Problems, MBKM Program.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior preferences need to be known from the beginning because they are the root of the emergence of cases of adolescent aggressiveness. Generation Alpha's aggressive behavior preferences need to be known to control and prevent individuals from growing up with harmful aggressive behavior. This study aims to develop a measurement tool for the aggressive behavior preferences of Generation Alpha which is used as a tool to measure the aggressive behavior preferences of children to adolescents today who belong to Generation Alpha. The subjects in this study were 136 Generation Alpha aged 11-12 years. Generation Alpha's aggressive behavior preferences were measured using a closed questionnaire containing Likert scale statements. The research was conducted in June-August 2023. The development stage/procedure uses the Borg & Gall model with simplification into six stages, namely the Information Gathering Stage, Planning Stage, Model Development Stage, Limited Group Trial, Product Revision, and Product Finalization. The conclusion of this study: content validity testing conducted by 5 experts (expert judgment) shows the results that all statement items in this measuring instrument are relevant to the Alpha Generation aggressive behavior preference indicators so that it can be tested as a criterion validity testing stage. The results of the criterion validity test on 136 respondents showed that there were 5 invalid statement items. The total number of items that are empirically declared valid and reliable is 43 items with a reliability value using the Cronbach's Alpha formula of 0.877.Keywords – Measurement Tool, Generation Alpha, Aggressive Behavior Preferences

Abstract

This article is a phonological change research of Arabic loanwords in Indonesian from KBBI Online dictionary within knowledge realm of Islamic religion according to phonological changes study by Masnur Muslich. There are two problems that will be examined, that is how the phonological changes occured on the Arabic loanwords in Islamic context on KBBI, and to analyze whether native Arabic speaker can understand these loanwords when pronounced. Research materials for article are Arabic loanwords within Islamic context from KBBI Online that will be taken randomly. Research method applied to answer the problem is qualitative method, while data collection is done using document study technique. The research has shown that loanwords pronunciation changed by anaptyxis, neutralization and vocal modification. Loanwords sound usually changed by neutralization to represent the sound of Arabic word that doesn’t have any sound representation in Indonesian and vocal modification to shorten the Arabic vocal pronunciation so native Arabic speakers won’t understand sound of these words.Keywords– Arabic, Indonesian, Loanwords, Phonology.

Abstract

In recent years, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture has provided a series of reading materials for young readers with segmentation ranging from PAUD to SMA. This procurement is special because this reading material is disseminated on a national scale to improve the literacy skills of the younger generation within the framework of the National Literacy Movement (GLN). This research aims to describe gender roles and relations in this collection of reading materials. This research data is a collection of junior high school level literacy reading materials published in 2016. The data was analyzed using content analysis methods through the stages of categorization, tabulation, interpretation and inference using a feminist literary criticism approach. The results of this research show that the collection of literacy reading materials at junior high school level shows alignment with patriarchal ideology. There is a reproduction of traditional gender roles, which presents a framework of women's domestication, and a depiction of men's roles attached to the public sector. Apart from that, it seems that the depiction of agency polarization is dominant in male characters compared to female characters. The depiction of gender relations in this collection of reading materials generally shows a hierarchical form of relationship, which emphasizes the superiority of male characters. Thus, this collection of reading materials shows that there is no balance that leads to gender equality. This is important to do because this reading material becomes intake for teenagers in forming teenagers' attitudes and perceptions about gender behavior.Keywords - Feminist Literary Criticism, Gender role, Gender Relation,  Literacy
