Abstract

Sexual violence against children is a national issue that requires immediate intervention. Although various existing studies focus on the stages of support, the appropriate approach to child victims of sexual violence is often overlooked. This study aims to examine the application of social pedagogy principles at the UPTD PPA Semarang City in providing support to child victims of sexual violence. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with research subjects including the Head of the UPTD, counselors, and psychologists. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, with data validity through triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis included collection, reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the application of social pedagogy principles is seen in support tailored to the characteristics of children so that the professional services provided can integrate cognitive competencies, emotional sensitivity, and practical skills. The conclusion of this study is that the application of social pedagogy principles at the UPTD PPA Semarang City can improve the quality of support and assistance provided to child victims of sexual violence.Keywords - Mentoring, Sexual Violence, Social Pedagogy.

Abstract

In these performing arts, masks serve as the main medium for expressing symbolic meaning, however these two mask arts show differences in symbolic interpretation, social function, and performance context. This research aims to analyze the comparison of the symbolic meaning of masks and social context in Malangan Mask Dance from Indonesia and Biàn Liǎn Dance from China. This study uses qualitative research to describe the approach of literary analysis using Clifford Geertz's interpretive anthropology framework and Victor Turner's symbolic theory. The results show that Malangan Mask Dance understands masks as symbols of stable characters with traditions, rituals, and social activities in Javanese society. Meanwhile, Biàn Liǎn Dance considers masks as symbols of transition, showing dramatic and rapid changes in emotions and characters. These differences reflect the cultural orientation, social structure, and interpretation by the supporting community of the symbolic function of performing arts in their social life. Keywords - Biàn Liǎn, Comparative, Malangan Mask Dance, Symbolic Meaning.

Abstract

Boy From Heaven is a Swedish–Egyptian film directed by Tarik Saleh that explores social conflicts, particularly the interplay between politics and religion. The purpose of this study is to reveal how political and religious dynamics are represented in the power struggle. This research employs Alan Swingewood’s sociology of literature, which focuses on social issues reflected in literary works. The method used is descriptive qualitative because it allows the researcher to portray events and phenomena as they occur. The primary data source is the film Boy From Heaven by Tarik Saleh. The research findings indicate that the state carries out interventions through surveillance, manipulation, and control over religious scholars within the socio-political context. The study concludes that the film not only reflects the socio-political realities in Egypt but also criticizes the abuse of power and political interference in religious authority.Keywords - Alan Swingewood, Boy From Heaven, Politics and Religion, Representation, Sociological Literature.

Abstract

Parent–child interaction during the social development stage of children aged 11–15 plays a crucial role in shaping social skills. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method involving three families in Karawang, Madura, and Boyolali. The subjects consisted of fathers, mothers, and children (a total of nine participants) with children aged 11–15, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and limited observation. Validity was ensured using source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. Data analysis followed a thematic approach based on Miles and Huberman’s model, including data reduction, data display, and reflective conclusion drawing. The findings revealed five main themes: (1) emotional relationships between parents and children; (2) daily activities and togetherness; (3) family decision-making; (4) parenting styles and family values; and (5) children’s social relationships. Authoritarian parenting produced obedient but withdrawn children, permissive parenting provided freedom but weakened structure, while authoritative parenting—balancing firmness, warmth, and spiritual values—shaped children to be more confident, empathetic, and adaptive. Democratic parent–child interaction with emotional involvement was proven to support social development in children aged 11–15. The implications suggest that families need to strengthen open communication and value-based parenting, schools and communities should provide spaces for children’s participation, and public policy should encourage responsive parenting programs.Keywords - Authoritative Parenting Style, Children’s Social Behaviour, Emotional Involvement, Family Education, Parent–Child Interaction.

Abstract

Innovation plays an essential role in improving organizational performance, however its implementation often faces resistance within bureaucratic systems. This study aims to examine the relationship between age, tenure, organizational communication, and organizational culture with employees’ innovative work behavior in the Regional Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Pemda DIY). This quantitative study used a Chi-Square method analysis and involved 80 respondents from two local government, Dinas Sosial DIY dan Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah DIY using random sampling technique. The results show that age (p = 0.165) and tenure (p = 0.979) have no significant relationship with innovative work behavior. In contrast, organizational communication (p< 0.001; V = 0.356) and organizational culture (p = 0.007; V = 0.295) are significantly related to employees’ innovative behavior. These findings confirm that communication quality and a positive organizational culture play key roles in encouraging innovation, while age and tenure are not primary determinants. Consistent with theory of innovative work behavior, this study emphasizes that innovation is influenced by organizational environments supporting idea exploration and participation. Therefore, organizations should strengthen open communication and an adaptive culture to promote innovation within bureaucracy.Keywords – Innovative Work Behavior, Organizational Communication, Organizational Culture, Tenure.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the escalation of violence following the October 2023 attacks, which triggered a severe humanitarian crisis in Palestine and inspired expressions of solidarity from artists through music. This study aims to examine the discursive construction of genocide in the lyrics of the song Rajieen using Teun A. Van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method. The primary data source is the lyrics of Rajieen obtained from the platform Spotify, consisting of words, phrases, and sentences that represent genocide discourse. Data were collected through intensive reading and analyzed using Van Dijk’s framework, which includes textual structure, social cognition, and social context. The findings show that the macrostructure of the song emphasizes suffering and the threat of mass extermination faced by Palestinian society. At the level of social cognition, the lyrics articulate criticism of global humanitarian double standards. In the broader social context, the song functions as a counter-discourse to dominant media narratives about the Palestine–Israel conflict. These findings suggest that music can serve as cultural advocacy highlighting global human rights violations. Future research should examine audience reception to understand its influence on public perceptions of the Palestine–Israel conflict.Keywords - Discourse, Genocide, Rajieen.

Abstract

This study explores the reflection of Hui Muslim life and Islamic religious practices in Huo Da’s novel Funeral of a Muslim (1988), an outstanding work in Modern Chinese literature that centers on minority religious experience in China. Set within the historical and social transformations of twentieth-century China, the novel traces three generations of a Hui Muslim family in Beijing and offers a rare literary portrayal of Islamic life in a predominantly Han cultural context. Employing a Qualitative Literary Methodology through close reading, this research analyzes selected narrative passages and dialogues from the English translation of the book to examine depictions of Islamic rituals, including greetings, ablution, prayer, marriage and funerary practices. This study finds that Funeral of a Muslim not only contributes to Chinese literary fiction through its depiction of ethnic minority religious practices, but also reveals that Hui identity is constructed as a dynamic process of dialogical interaction between self-perception and sociopolitical structures.Keywords - Chinese Hui, Contemporary Chinese Literature, Hui Muslim Life, Religious Practices.

Abstract

This study to analyze the integration of Tafsir and tarbawi hadith in the development of Islamic education. Education in Islam is not only oriented towards the transfer of knowledge, but also towards the formation of morals, spirituality, and character of insan kamil. Tafsir tarbawi plays a role in interpreting verses of the Qur'an related to educational values, while hadith tarbawi provides practical examples of the Prophet Muhammad's educational methods and ethics. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review of relevant primary and secondary sources. The results show that the integration of Tafsir and hadith tarbawi can produce a holistic concept of Islamic education, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. According to Tafsir and tarbawi hadith, the goal of Islamic education is to shape individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, and pious, who are beneficial to society. In addition, educational evaluation from the perspective of Tafsir and hadith does not only assess the intellectual aspects, but also the moral and spiritual aspects of students. Thus, Tafsir and tarbawi hadith can be used as a normative and methodological basis in designing an Islamic education system that is contextual, humanistic, and oriented towards character building and devotion to Allah SWT. Keywords – Educational Hadith, Educational Interpretation, Integration, Islamic Education.

Abstract

Tasybih, as one of the central rhetorical devices in Arabic balaghah, plays an important role in creating linguistic beauty and clarifying meaning in Arabic literary works, especially poetry. This diwan was selected as the object of study because it is one of Qabbani’s early poetry collections that contains many figurative expressions, yet it has not been widely examined from the perspective of Tasybih through an ʿIlm al-Bayan approach. This study aims to analyze the types and functions of Tasybih in Diwan Qaalat Lii as-Samra’ by Nizar Qabbani based on the framework of ʿIlm al-Bayan. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a rhetorical (balaghah) approach. The data consist of poetic verses containing Tasybih found in the diwan. Data were collected through observation and note-taking techniques, while analysis was conducted using immediate constituent analysis, translational techniques, and deletion techniques to identify the structure, types, and functions of Tasybih more precisely. The findings show that several types appear, including Tasybih mursal, mu’akkad, mufashshal, baligh, and ḍhimni. Their functions include explaining possibility, describing the state of the Musyabbah, strengthening or weakening its image, and clarifying poetic imagery in the text.
