Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students' interest in reading learning. Researcher used the DRTA method to develop students' abilities in reading learning. The hypothesis in this study was that there is a significant impact on students' learning by the DRTA method. This research method used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. Thus, the researcher used the independent sample t-test and tested using the effect size test to see the level of effectiveness of the DRTA method in reading fantasy short stories learning. Researcher used the SPSS 18.0 for windows program as data analysis. The results showed that the DRTA method was effective when applied in reading fantasy short stories learning. This was proven by the results of the two average differences in the posttest results of 0.000, so H0 was rejected. Furthermore, the effect of the DRTA method was 0,002 using the calculation of effect size. These results were effective with a small effect criterion which was at a size of 0,0 < ≤ 0,2. The conclusion is that the DRTA method is effective in reading fantasy short stories learning. Keywords: DRTA method, reading learning, fantasy short stories

Abstract

Abstract ESD is an alternative in the world of education that is expected to direct students in realizing a sustainable life. Critical thinking competencies are one of the eight key ESD competencies that must be developed through esd-based skills assessment rubrics. This study aims to analyze the skill assessment rubric associated with ESD-based critical thinking competencies. The research using is a qualitative method with descriptive. The subjects of this study were 6 teachers in high grade in Garut and Tasikmalaya districts. The research data was carried out through interview method and documentation studies of the rubrics that had been used by the teacher. The results of this study indicate that there are 3 esd areas that are in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, it can be seen if in the rubric that the researchers analyzed there are 50% rubrics covering social, economic, and environmental. However, in the context of critical thinking, only 25% of rubrics used critical thinking indicators in assessing the skills of learners. Teachers find it difficult to use and develop skills assessment rubrics. The development of ESD-based critical thinking skills rubric will be effective and important to facilitate teachers in conducting skills assessments. Abstract

Tradisi Perahu Bidar adalah salah satu warisan budaya pada masyarakat kota Palembang yang patut untuk dilestarikan. Keberadaan perlombaan perahu bidar selalu dinantikan oleh masyarakat Palembang, karena tradisi ini memiliki nilai-nilai kehidupan bagi masyarakat kota Palembang yang dikenal sebagai wilayah maritim. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejarah tradisi perahu bidar di Sungai Musi dan upaya-upaya yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam melestarikan tradisi bidar sebagai warisan budaya pada masyarakat Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data-data penelitian didapat melalui wawancara, observasi dan tinjauan pustaka. Peneliti mendeskripsikan tentang sejarah tradisi perahu bidar sebagai warisan budaya dan upaya-upaya pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam melestarikan tradisi perahu bidar disungai musi. Penelitian ini kedapannya diharapkan sebagai bukti bahwa adanya kaitan antara perlombaan tradisi bidar ini sebagai warisan budaya leluhur yang harus dilestarikan sehingga bisa diteruskan oleh generasi selanjutnya pada masyarakat kota Palembang.

Abstract

Di dalam penelitian ini, telah didesain instrumen penilaian kelayakan sebuah desa wisata. Desa wisata yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah desa wisata Burai, kabupaten Ogan Ilir, provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Desa ini masuk 50 besar sebagai desa wisata terbaik pada Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia 2021 dan telah disyahkan oleh menteri pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif Republik Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan penilaian kelayakan desa ini sebagai desa wisata di Indonesia. Setelah dilakukannya verifikasi/kroscek lapangan, ditemukan bahwa kesiapan/kelayakan desa wisata Burai hanya bernilai 37 %, maka dapat disimpukan bahwa desa ini belum sepenuhnya siap menjadi desa wisata di kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Peneliti menemukan masih banyak hal-hal yang belum standar untuk bisa masuk dalam kategori sebagai desa wisata di Indonesia. Desa ini sebenarnya memiliki potensi yang cukup kuat untuk menjadi desa wisata, namun perlu adanya pengelolaan berkelanjutan yang lebih serius lagi baik pengelolaan sumber daya manusia dan sumber daya alamnya dan tentu ini menjadi tanggung jawab para stakeholder yang terkait.

Abstract

Karawang is one of the districts in West Java. The city of Karawang is known as a rice barn, a city of heroes, and an industrial city. In the field of art, Song Goyang Karawang is one of the works of young people who become local cultural identities and still maintain their identity in facing the challenges of foreign cultures that enter Indonesia. Goyang karawang song is a product of historical art culture. The aims of this study are 1) to understand the denotative meaning that appears in the lyrics of the song rocking karawang by Lingga Angling Raspati, 2) what the connotation meaning of the lyrics of the song Goyang Karawang is like. The researcher used a qualitative approach and content analysis methods. Sources of data were taken from literature studies and interviews with songwriters, namely Angga Angling Raspati. From the results of the study, it was found that the song has the meaning of changing the rocking karawang paradigm which was different from today. Goyang karawang means Karawang continues to move to grow, progress and develop. The cultural meaning found in the lyrics is a depiction of the life of the people of the city of Karawang which has a lot of rice fields and also industries. In industry, people generally work in companies and it is proven by the existence of Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC). The impact of the meaning of the song is to convey a true meaning of rocking karawang itself.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of self- confidence of students in participating in extracurricular pencak silat activities at State Vocational Schools throughout Karawang Regency (study at SMK Negeri 1 Tirtajaya) based on the belief in self-ability, optimism responsibility, objective and rational factors. The subjects in this study were female students who took extracurricular pencak silat. The data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire. The method used is a survey, while the data collection technique uses a questionnaire, the questionnaire in this study is in the form of a Likert scale. The results of the study revealed that the level of self- confidence of the pencak silat extracurricular participants in Karawang Regency was stated in the very low category with a percentage of 5%, in the low category with a percentage of 30%, in the medium category with a percentage of 35%, in the high category with a percentage of 18%, in the very high category with a percentage of 13%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see how effective Microsoft Powerpoint learning media is at improving students' math learning outcomes. The type of research employed was a literature review based on the findings of previous studies. The data collected in this study uses data from various literature that are appropriate to the topic of discussion and refers to several reference materials, including: Google Scholar, Mendeley, and Harzing. In the literature review study results of all the articles used as references, seven research results were selected for further analysis. The conclusions obtained from this literature study are that Microsoft Powerpoint-based learning media has effectiveness in the process of learning and also has a significant effect on mathematical learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how much students are interested in futsal extracurricular activities in SMA Negeri 1 Pagaden students. This type of research is descriptive research. The population of this study were students of SMA Negeri 1 Pagaden class who had the same age level, namely 14-17 years. Population and sampling is using a purposive technique with the characteristics of people who play futsal. Descriptive data analysis techniques with calculations in the questionnaire. Based on the results of the discriminatory analysis showed that the average student interest in playing futsal was in the low category. This can be seen in both internal and external factors of SMA Negeri 1 Pagaden students

Abstract

Feedback is very crucial for students’ learning. It can be used as a supporting source of learning for them by showing the students’ mistakes and errors. Feedback is expected to raise the students awareness of their learning. However, not many students are able to use the feedback given to them. Studies try to explore how to maximise feedback function for the students’ learning. This present study investigated the recognition of students about feedback preference and their response toward teacher feedback for their writing. An EFL class at the tertiary level comprising 28 learners had participated in this study. The participants were required to fill the questionnaire. The data were analysed by using percentage analysis. The data revealed that Indonesian EFL learners prefer the direct corrective feedback for their writing. The majority of the students confirmed that feedback is crucial for their writing progress. However, the data showed that more than half of the students’ responses toward feedback given admitted that they sometimes revised their writing although they were not assigned to submit a revision. Therefore, this study suggested diagnosing students’ teacher Corrective Feedback strategies as the initial step for given feedback procedure as one of the ways to respect students’ learning style or strategies.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil peningkatan membaca pemahaman dengan menggunakan teknik skema siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 31 Merangin. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dilaksanakan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 31 Merangin dengan menggunakan dua siklus. Obyek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan membaca pemahaman dalam menemukan masalah pada teks berita. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 31 Merangin berjumlah 22 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan menggunakan teknik skema dapat meningkatkan proses dan hasil belajar membaca pemahaman dalam menemukan masalah pada teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP 31 Merangin. Ketuntasan hasil belajar siklus I menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas siswa pada siklus I sebesar 70%, sedangkan hasil hasil belajar sebesar 73% siswa yang tuntas. Pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan untuk aktivitas belajar siswa sebesar 87,25%, sedangkan hasil belajar siswa meningkat menjadi 92,5% dari jumlah siswa kelas VIII SMP 31 Merangin sebanyak 22 orang. Dengan peningkatan tersebut, maka teknik skema sangat tepat dan cocok untuk diterapkan pada materi pembelajaran membaca pemahaman dalam menemukan masalah pada teks berita.
