Abstract

Following the postulations of the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) theory and the Conversation of Resources (COR) theory, this study examined the relationships between job demands and job performance of business educators with work burnout as a mediator. A nonexperimental quantitative research design was used to achieve the specific purpose of the study. The participants consisted of 142 business educators (12 HODs and 130 lecturers). The instruments for data collection was a structured questionnaire, adapted from existing psychological scales. The instruments were validated by three experts, two in Business Education and one in Measurement and Evaluation. Cronbach’s alpha was used to obtain the reliability values for each scale: job demands (α = 0.84), work burnout (α = 0.73) and job performance (α = 0.95). Data collected were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation, linear regression and bias corrected and accelerated regression statistics. The findings revealed that job demands positively predicted work burnout and negatively predicted job performance; work burnout negatively predicted job performance, and work burnout significantly mediated the relationships between job demands and poor job performance. The authors recommended, among others, that university managers and administrators should endeavour to create a conducive, resourceful and motivated working environment as this will provide opportunity for business educators to surmount work burnout, which would eventually lead business educators to perform effectively on the job. Abstract

This study explores how lecturers and undergraduates perceive, experience, and navigate psychological engagement, motivation, and cognitive load online Transactional Collaborative Learning (TCL), highlighting its benefits, challenges, and psychological impact on student learning experiences in higher education. The study used Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as a qualitative research method that facilitates in-depth exploration of participants’ experiences, perceptions, and attitudes regarding a particular phenomenon. The participants in this research were ten lecturers and twenty-four undergraduate students selected purposively. The study focuses on how the online TCL environment affects psychological variables related to teaching and learning.  From the results of the thematic analysis, four final themes were obtained, including 1) learning models and strategies in online TCL; 2) effective learning models in online TCL; 3) factors influencing the success of online TCL; 4) psychological impacts of online TCL. Findings show that flexible content delivery, interactive discussions, and quizzes enhance student engagement, knowledge retention, and digital literacy. However, challenges such as technological limitations and the lack of guidance and support from lecturers hinder the success of online TCL. While this approach fosters motivation, self-confidence, and adaptability, cognitive load remains a concern. Strengthening digital infrastructure and interactive teaching strategies is key to optimizing online TCL. The implication of the study is further discussed. Abstract

School-aged children are at risk of becoming victims of sexual abuse, highlighting the need for early self-protection programs. These programs should provide knowledge, training, and assertive actions as part of preventive psychoeducation for children. Studies show that between 20% and 33% of girls and 10% to 16% of boys will experience sexual abuse before reaching 18 years old. The Self-Protection Model aims to serve as an early protection program by equipping children with the knowledge to recognize and identify sexual abuse. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a quantitative approach. The sampling method used was purposive sampling on 20 subjects consisting of male and female students who met the following criteria: aged 9-12 years and elementary school students. The measurement tools used were assertiveness scale and knowledge scale. The analysis using the non-parametric Wilcoxon test, demonstrated that the self-protection model significantly contributes to children's knowledge and assertive behavior in response to sexual violence. Efforts to prevent sexual violence should be directed at children, emphasizing the importance of providing knowledge and examples of assertive behavior. This study's findings indicated a significant improvement in children's knowledge and assertive behavior following the implementation of the Self Protection Model intervention, thereby empowering them to apply the newly acquired skills as a preventive strategy against sexual violence. Abstract

Female civil servants often have to divide their time between job demands and household responsibilities. While managing responsibilities at home, they’re also expected to perform optimally in the workplace, fully contribute to their organizations. This study explored how transformational leadership indirectly influences Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among female civil servants working in the regional government offices of Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (GO-CJ-DIY), with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable in that relationship. The study used a total sampling technique with a population of 189 married female civil servants at GO-CJ-DIY who had been employed for more than three months. However, only 134 respondents completed the questionnaire and were therefore included in the final analysis. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed a path coefficient of 0.489, t = 8.252, p < 0.001, 95% CI [0.381, 0]. Abstract

Research on dispositional forgiveness has primarily concentrated on the intraindividual level. The aim of this study is to analyze dispositional forgiveness using ecological systems theory, with a systematic review and thematic analysis technique. A literature search was performed from 2018 to 2025 in a range of electronic databases: Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct. Of 26,550 results from the searches, 15 articles fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were chosen for analysis. Thematic analysis indicates that dispositional forgiveness research is primarily undertaken within the microsystem, including personality, well-being, resilience, self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, self-acceptance, attachment and anxiety. Studies on macrosystem dimensions, involving cultural and historical variables that determine individual forgiveness, are limited. Researchers can use the findings of this study as a reference to perform exploratory research on cultural values and historical circumstances that influence forgiveness attributes. Empirical research is also needed, particularly on children. Keywords: dispositional forgiveness; ecological systems theory; microsystem; systematic review

Abstract

Career adaptability (CA) is conceptualized within career construction theory (CCT) as a composite of four dimensions: concern, control, curiosity, and confidence. It serves as a critical psychosocial resource. It enables individuals, particularly university students, to navigate developmental tasks, career transitions, and emerging challenges within the rapidly evolving Industry 5.0 landscape. However, the gaps within the existing studies show the unidentified of the relationship between career development programs and students’ CA. Therefore, this study was conducted using a systematic review framework employing thematic synthesis. It integrates evidence from 18 empirical studies published between 2019 and 2024 that focused on university and late-adolescent populations across diverse cultural and educational contexts. Findings revealed the structured career development programs incorporates experiential learning, reflective practice, and social support mechanisms. These consistently enhance students’ adaptability, although the magnitude of effectiveness varies according to program design, duration, and contextual fit. The futher synthesis identified three overarching clusters of influencing factors: (1) personal motivational factors such as proactive personality, grit, and career self-efficacy; (2) socio-contextual factors including parental autonomy support and age-related stereotypes; and (3) digital behavioral factors, such as short-video overuse. By systematically integrating insights from both CCT and social cognitive career theory (SCCT), this review study advances prior literature that significantly treated these frameworks in isolation or focused on general populations without contextualizing interventions for students. Conceptually, this study maps the interaction of multilevel determinants in shaping adaptive career readiness; methodologically, it provides an evidence-based synthesis of program characteristics linked to measurable adaptability outcomes. Practically, the findings underscore the necessity of designing holistic, context-sensitive, and evidence-driven career development programs that address psychological, social, and digital dimensions of adaptability. Therefore, higher education institutions (HEIs) are encouraged to embed experiential, reflective, and digital-literacy components within career centers to foster sustainable adaptability aligned with the dynamic demands of the Industry 5.0 workforce. Abstract

This study aims to examine the mediating role of organizational commitment in the relationship between resilience and turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Indonesia. Previous research have shows resilience directly reduces turnover intention, while others find this effect is mediated by work engagement. This inconsistency highlights the need to explore mediating mechanisms, such as organizational commitment, in the resilience-turnover intention relationship. The study involved 193 Gen Z employees from a multinational corporation, with data collected through established and reliable measures of resilience(α = .962), organizational commitment ( α=.921) and turnover intention (α= .871). Mediation analysis conducted using JASP software revealed that resilience significantly decreased turnover intention through the pathway of continuance commitment (Z = –3.709, p < .001). In contrast, affective and normative commitments did not demonstrate significant mediating effects. Drawing Upon Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory, these findings suggest that Generation Z employees’ retention is primarily driven by concerns over potential losses of valuable resources, such as financial stability and career development opportunities, rather than affective or normative attachments to the organization. This study underscores the critical role of organizational commitment as a mechanism for retaining Gen Z employees and highlight that retention strategies should prioritize on enhancing resource-based incentives and reducing perceived resource loss rather than solely  fostering emotional or normative engagement

Abstract

Generation Z is growing up amid rapid globalization and digital transformation, conditions that shape their psychological well-being and emotion regulation abilities. Nevertheless, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) remain a significant risk factor. This study aims to examine the moderating role of resilience in the relationship between ACEs and emotion regulation among Generation Z in Jakarta. A total of 227 participants were recruited through purposive sampling, using the ACE-IQ, DERS-SF, and CD-RISC as instruments. Data were analyzed with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results demonstrate that resilience significantly weakens the negative impact of ACEs on emotion regulation. These findings underscore the importance of resilience-based interventions and open further discussion on practical strategies to enhance adaptive capacity and emotional well-being in young adults who have experienced childhood adversity. Keywords: Adverse childhood experiences, emotion regulation, resilience, Generation Z.

Abstract

The Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique (ZMET) is a qualitative research method employed to elicit individuals' subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences by exploring metaphors. This systematic review, encompassing 47 studies published between 2019 and 2023, demonstrates that ZMET is frequently utilised within marketing and tourism, focusing primarily on perception, experience, and meaning. Principal findings indicate that the modifications to Storytelling and Missed Images are the most commonly implemented, whilst combinations with in-depth interviews and grounded theory are prevalent. Thematic analysis identified five principal themes: experience and emotion, meaning and perception, identity and self, values and beliefs, and decision-making. ZMET effectively investigated these themes, particularly within contexts involving complex emotions and experiences. This review concludes that ZMET remains a relevant and adaptable method within qualitative research. Its core strength lies in its capacity to uncover hidden layers of meaning, whilst its weaknesses pertain to analytical complexity and potential subjectivity. Implications and recommendations for best practice, including the necessity for meticulous planning, comprehensive interviewer training, and robust data triangulation, are also discussed concerning the future development and application of ZMET.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the association between parent-child career goal congruence, career optimism, and career engagement among students. This study involved 237 students aged 19 to 21 years (M-age = 19.23; SD = 0.97), with 82.3% female and 17.7% male participants, drawn from a faculty at a university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The research employed a quantitative design using a survey method. Data was collected using three scales: the parent-child career goal congruence scale (α = 0.87), the career optimism scale (α = 0.81), and the career engagement scale (α = 0.86). Multiple linear regression analysis (SPSS 27.0) revealed that parent child career goal congruence and career optimism were  associated with career engagement (R = 0.39, R2 = 0.16, F = 22.08, p < 0.001). Together, these two factors account for 16% of the variance in career engagement. However, when examined separately, only parent-child career goal congruence was  associated with career engagement (β = 0.21, p < 0.001), while career optimism showed no significant association (β = 0.03, p = 0.38). This finding highlight the value of collaborative, communication-centered approaches, suggesting that parents and career counselors can support students more effectively by engaging in joint career planning, open dialogue, and structured counseling sessions to enhance parent–child career goal congruence. Keyword: Parent-child career goal congruence, career optimism, career engagement.
