Abstract

In learning reading skills (mahārat al-qirā’ah), especially Arabic texts, students are required to be able to reach existing indicators, which are at the level of critical reading. One effort to foster a critical attitude is to implement a group investigation strategy in the learning process. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to see how far the effectiveness of applying the group investigation strategy in learning mahārat al-qirā’ah 2 to the students of Arabic Language and Literature Department, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. The results of this study prove that the application of the group investigation strategy applied in learning mahārat al-qirā’ah 2 can make students active and critical in analyzing discourse. The obstacle is the lack of student commitment to time so that the learning seems rushed. The solution, students are accustomed to reading Arabic texts so that they are familiar with new mufradāt (vocabulary), and commitment to the time given by lecturers so that learning is more effective and efficient.

Abstract

Poetry is a notable record for historical events, a tool for arousing enthusiasm and a capability of emotional expression that drives society. The objective of this article is to investigate and appraise the degree for special literary description on poetic influence in the recording of historical events in the 19th century in Nigeria. The article contains a biography of the poet Shaykh Muhammadu Bello bin Sheikh Usman bin Fodio and preamble that will assist in understanding the meaning of historical Arabic poetry. The theme of this article comprises the meaning of historical Arabic poetry, word expression, skills in the language of poetry, the poet’s artistic doctrine, and the belief of the poet feels. The poetry of historical events is counted among the best poems in Arabic literature of the past and present period. The author collected lots of data and will use the descriptive and analytical methods in carrying out the research.

Abstract

The Arabic language is often categorized as a second language that is hard to learn and practiced as a means of communication. Although the government has made the Arabic language as the subject of elementary school through college, it does not make the Arabic language acquisition is easier and practicable for students to learn it. The level of language acquisition of each person is different; some can easily absorb the new language. This is because language acquisition is based on a natural process beneath the conscious. Therefore, by using descriptive qualitative research methods, this study aims to find the appropriate strategies for improving Arabic language acquisition based on student personality. The result of this study proves that extrovert or introvert personalities have different approaches to language acquisition. Extroverts tend to be more open, while introverts tend to be more closed. Extrovert personalities with more open tendencies have a more spontaneous language acquisition pattern, whereas introvert personalities with more inclined tendencies have a more disciplined and structured language acquisition pattern.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to find a clear description of the effectiveness of using the scramble method to improve students’ proficiency in Arabic writing skills. This research is a qualitative study using a class action research method for 4th-semester students of 2016, in the Arabic language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, who took Kitābah 1 course. The results of this study indicate that there are changes in the attitudes and behavior of students who study Kitābah 1 with the scramble method before and after applying the method, starting from the pre-research to the first and second cycles. In this second cycle, there is a very significant change compared to before where students are more active in asking questions and discussing with their groups. Because of their activeness, the results obtained were also significant changes. This is proven by the following changes: there are 29 out of 85 students who get “very good” grades, 37 students get “good” grades, and 15 students who have “enough” grades. Meanwhile, only 4 students scored “less”. The lack of value is because the student concerned did not enter the lecture so the value and understanding are lacking in the material that has been submitted.

Abstract

Repetition (al-tikrār) represents one of the most artistic and stylistic phenomena in contemporary critical studies. It is achieved a creative and aesthetic value in the literary discourse since it reveals us about the underlying real contents behind this sort of discourse. This paper seeks to monitor 'Repetition' types and their impact in the formation of poems of Bashīr al-Ḥāj Ghāji through the investment of principles and mechanisms of the artistic approach in the structure analysis of the repetition in his poems. They are many types such as repetition in letter, word and phrase as well as derivational repetition. It was due to that repetition those structures the obvious impact in the giving of some of his poems a rhythmic dimension and a musical tune which share in the overall rhythmic structure as well as achieved some of the its semantic purposes which the poet tried to express it and deliver it to the recipient.

Abstract

The relationship between Arabic language and the musical rhythm is very strong, the language is an art pot of different colors and forms, the rhythm is closely related by the sense and the pronunciation, and it is the strength of poetry and the Base of systems. Singing has not found a place since the pre-Islamic era until the poetry emerged which was truly the Dīwān of Arabs. The art of singing has become more prevalent than other musical Arts in the Arab world. The songs were the first musical expressive tools that added to the melody of poetry more attractive and fun elements. So the study came to show the relationship between music and Arabic language in terms of structures, rules and construction, which are what they share together. The study also concerned about the importance of rhythm in the linguistic music structure.

Abstract

The research aims to explain (1) Teaching and disseminating the Arabic language among non-native speakers in a correct way; (2) Teaching language skills in a clear and integrated manner; (3) Choose the appropriate method of teaching; (4) Finding the most effective way to communicate the Arabic language to the whole world; (5) Keep the sounds of the Arabic language as is. Therefore, the researcher presents the problem of this research: the need of non-Arab societies for the Arabic language, and learning them in an often non-systematic way, which led to the spread of the language incorrectly. The results show that (1) Learners of the Arabic language in general, their education must be based on confirming the four language skills and their learners from non-native speakers in particular, it must be trained and practiced on these skills; (2) There is no complete and imperfect teaching method, but it is the educational position that imposes a certain type of method; (3) Some learners of the Arabic language who are not their children have reached a stage of mastery that may exceed their children. This is due to his keen desire to learn it. (4) The teacher of the Arabic language for non-native speakers of it must be broad-educated, familiar with the cultures of the people who study Arabic, to know the differences between the voices of the Arabic language and the sounds of the learner’s mother language, as well as the significance of the vocabulary that differs from one people to another.

Abstract

Advertising is text in the form of images or writing to promote an item, service, job opening, and others. Print advertisements (newspapers) are useful for all people who read them. The purpose of this paper is to describe the advertisement about “Satā’ir Panasonic al-Hawā’iyah” (AC cover) contained in Egypt’s Al-Ahrām newspaper. The method used in this paper is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The theory used in this research is Charles Sanders Peirce’s Semiotic theory; representamen, object, and interpretant. The results in this study indicates that (1) in terms of representamen, pink flowers in the advertisement show that what is seen is something that smells nice, soft, and comfortable; (2) the object in the advertisement is all the images and writing contained in the ad; (3) while the interpretant of the advertisement shows that the Panasonic brand AC cover product is fragrant, soft, clean, fresh, and comfortable to use.

Abstract

Many studies that discuss learning methods naḥwu, there is no method that can be accurate to be applied to all Madrasahs. Madrasah Diniyah Kyai Mojo, Tembelang, Jombang, is one of the Madrasahs that applies the rote method to improve the quality of understanding naḥwu. The purpose of this study is to find out how the application of memorization methods in Madrasah Diniyah Kyai Mojo, Tembelang, Jombang, in improving the quality of students’ understanding of naḥwu. This study uses descriptive qualitative, and the instrument for collecting data using direct observation, and unstructured interviews. The results of this study indicate that the application of the memorization method in improving naḥwu in the Madrasah Kyai Mojo, Tembelang, Jombang consists of two stages, namely the preparation stage and the implementation and evaluation stages. The study concludes that the memorization method is very helpful in improving the quality of students’ understanding of naḥwu, even though the level of understanding is still at the level of translating and interpreting and has not yet reached the stage of extrapolating (estimating). his study suggests teachers be creative in using learning methods by paying attention to situations and conditions so that learning is not monotonous by using one method.

Abstract

This research is aimed to express one’s phsycological condition after doing a lot of sins. He realized his mistake. He recognized all of his action. Finally he begged forgiveness to God. He had a lot of hope of mercy. He also hoped God will accept his repetance. However he was haunted of fearness if God refused his request. It will come up the hopeless because he fell there was not forgiveness for him except God. The material object of this research is the poetry of Al-I’tiraf created by Abu Nuwas and it’s translation in Indonesia. The Indonesia society especially pesantren community known it as Abu Nawas Poem. As for the formal object is inner turmoil experienced by the character in this poem which is described of writer’s life experience Abu Nuwas. Analisys method that used in this research was literature phsycology method. This analisys is done to the character mental condition who experienced regret of the sins he had done. The hope of God forgiveness and the fearness to God rejection will raise the hopeless. The result which are expected from the research is to express the feeling which experienced by the character in this poem namely a regret, wish, and hopeless.
