Abstract

This article aims to describe students’ perceptions of naḥwu 2 lecture with online system for 4th-semester students in the Arabic Language Department, IAIN Sultan Amai, Gorontalo. The study was conducted in a survey type with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and interviews. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques by Milles and Huberman, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. Research results: (1) Online lecture for naḥwu 2 is carried out with deductive methods in the form of lectures, memorizing Matn al-Ājurrūmīyah, and group material presentation; (2) As many as 46.15% of respondents stated that the material was not well presented. The influencing factors are group presentation and network quality. Only 53.85% of respondents stated that the understanding they got after attending naḥwu 2 lectures online was quite good. As many as 84.62% of respondents stated that memorization of the matn had a positive effect on understanding the material and the ability to take words. According to them, online lecture are considered ineffective in naḥwu 2. The retention of the material they get is not comparable to the funds they spend on internet quota needs during naḥwu 2 online lecture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode bernyanyi dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata bahasa arab di MTs Ma’arif NU 07 Purbolinggo. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru dan siswa. Untuk memperoleh data dalam penelitian ini dengan metode wawancara sebagai metode pokok, metode observasi dan dokumentasi sebagai metode penunjang. Kemudian untuk menganalisa data digunakan analisis deskriptif. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode bernyanyi di MTs Ma’arif NU 07 Purbolinggo dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menguasai kosa kata dalam bahasa Arab. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hafalan nyanyian yang mana lirik lagunya sudah diganti dengan kosakata bahasa Arab

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the learning method is a very important factor in learning foreign language speaking skills, especially Arabic. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research is Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Metro, Lampung. Meanwhile, the instruments in this study were interviews and literature studies. It can be noted that the learning method greatly influences the learning process and outcomes. The results of this study indicate that the learning method used in MAN 1 Metro, Lampung, is the direct method (mubāsharah). The effectiveness and efficiency of this method can be proven in learning activities for vocabulary development, the practice of Arabic in daily communication, the practice of Arabic speech, and Arabic drama, and the use of Arabic vocabulary in public facilities. However, this is also not free from inhibiting factors, namely the background of educators who do not have an Arabic education background and a lack of competence as an Arabic teacher, students who are less motivated in learning Arabic, the background of students who do not understand Arabic, as well as teaching materials that are less relevant for students to use in learning Arabic speaking skills.

Abstract

The school (madhhab) of Kūfah had given a lot of influences on the development of naḥwu, including the use of terms. This study uses a qualitative method and the result indicates that there are many terms in the school of Kūfah used in the book of al-Ājurrūmīyah, including (1) the use of term al-khafḍ for i‘rāb al-ism is written with kasrah, not in the term al-jarr; (2) the use of term al-maf‘ūl al-ladhī lam yusamma fā‘iluh for the term subject in a passive verb, not using the term nā’ib al-fā‘il; (3) the use of term kayfamā is part of al-af‘āl al-jawāzim or from ‘āmil (particle) which can place a fi‘l muḍāri‘ into the jussive mood (majzūm), as the Kūfah scholars believe it; (4) The signs of ism are the entry of alif and lām as believed by the scholars of the Kūfah, while according to the scholars of Baṣrah it is based on the rules of alif and lām; (5) the use of term al-na‘t, not al-ṣifah; (6) al-asmā’ al-khamsah means abūka, akhūka, ḥamūka, fūka, dhū māl, but the scholars of Baṣrah believe that al-asmā’ al-sittah is by adding one ism, namely hanūka.

Abstract

The growing users of Android-based devices among students and demands the implementation of online learning to encourage innovation in the preparation of learning. One of the innovations following these conditions is the preparation of teaching materials based on Android. The purpose of this study is to find out of needs analysis of Android-Based learning materials for istimāʻ (lisetening) III in Arabic Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The study analyses the student needs using the descriptive method. While the data will be collected questionnaire. Then, the data analyzed with a quantitative technique. There are three steps of the process that will go through, namely data reduction, data display, and taking a conclusion. The sample of this study was 40 fifth semester students. The result of the study shows that all students own and use based on Android smartphones and students want istimāʻ III materials to build in the based-on Android application.

Abstract

This study aims to factually get data about the form of mistakes in the use of al-fi‘l al-mujarrad and al-fi‘l al-mazīd as well as the percentage of the mistakes including the types of mistakes done by the students and its causes. The study was conducted in the Arabic Language Education Study Progam, Universitas Negeri Jakarta in the academic year (107) of 2017–2018. For students of 2015. The data of this study are students answer papers about the use of al-fi‘l al-mujarrad and al-fi‘l al-mazīd with the amount of 44 questions with the 35 samples that randomly chosen. The method of this study is descriptive with the procedures: collecting data, identifying the mistakes, classifying the mistakes, describing the mistakes, and interpreting the mistakes. Based on the result, out of 1540 answers, there are 701 mistakes at the 1st meeting and 647 mistakes at the 2nd meeting including (1) mistakes in the use of al-thulathī al-mujarrad with an average of 177,5 mistakes; (2) mistakes in the use of al-rubā‘ī al-mujarrad with an average of 42 mistakes; (3) mistakes in the use of al-thulāthī al-mazīd bi-ḥarf with an average of 108 mistakes; (4) mistakes in the use of al- thulāthī al-mazīd bi-ḥarfayn with an average of 140,5 mistakes; (5) mistakes in the use of al-thulāthī al-mazīd bi-thalāthah aḥruf with an average of 129 mistakes; (6) mistakes in the use of al-rubā‘ī al-mazīd bi-ḥarf with an average of 27 mistakes; (7) mistakes in the use of al-fi‘l al-rubā‘ī al-mazīd bi-ḥarfayn with an average of 52 mistakes. From all mistakes mentioned above, the highest mistakes in the use of al-fi‘l al-rubā‘i al-mujarrad with an average of 42 mistakes.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a CEFR-based Semester Learning Plan (RPS) on guided writing (al-kitābah al-muqayyadah or Kitābah 1) course by using blended learning. This study uses a research and development method based on the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation) by limiting the stages to (1) need analysis of the fifth-semester students of Arabic Language Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Jakarta in RPS of Kitābah 1; (2) design and development for RPS of Kitābah 1 which is adjusted to CEFR level A1 and blended learning; (3) product assessment conducted by expert reviewers. Based on the needs analysis obtained from data of 20 students, the need index for RPS of Kitābah 1 with blended learning models is 2.6 (on a scale of 1–3). RPS based on the CEFR for Kitābah 1 aims to make students have the ability to arrange words and phrases into simple sentences and write paragraphs in a guided manner. Finally, based on the expert’s assessment, the score was 4.19 (on a scale of 1–5) in the very good category. Thus, the RPS of Kitābah 1 can be developed and suitable for use.

Abstract

This study aims to compile a syllabus of the European Profiling Grid (EPG) based teaching competency development course to improve the teaching competence of students to become Arabic teachers with character and competitiveness. The method used in this study is a research and development approach by Richey and Klein’s model with the steps of planning, production, and evaluation. This study identified that some of the EPG aspects had been contained in several other subjects, such as Planning of Arabic Learning, Methodology of Arabic Learning, and Learning Media Arabic. However, there are still several aspects of the EPG that have not yet become a concern in several courses, such as intercultural competence. Thus, several aspects of the EPG such as intercultural competence, professional behavior, administration need to be integrated as a syllabus model for the EPG-based Arabic teaching competence development. The EPG-based teaching competency development syllabus needs to be accompanied by appropriate teaching materials and research instruments. Therefore, research on the development of the next model needs to be done so that the development of teaching competency syllabus based on the EPG can be applied in learning.

Abstract

This research discusses the classification of Arabic poem (shi‘r) of the pre-Islamic period (Jahilīyah) in the book of al-Shi‘r wa-al-Shu‘arā’ by Abū Muḥammad ‘Abdullāh ibn Muslim ibn Qutaybah. In this research, we review in simple terms the classification of poems based on the quality of lafaẓ and meaning, the quality of lafaẓ, the quality of meaning, and the quality of limited lafaẓ and meaning a literary work, especially in the poem (shi‘r) as described in the book of al-Shi‘r wa-al-Shu‘arā’. Through the poem, the Arabic poet of Jahilī expresses his feelings through the poem he creates. The theme raised in the poem is the reality or quotes that are very familiar with the life of the Arab community at that time. One of the most influential Arabic poets of Jahilī is Imru’ al-Qays. In his poetry, Imru’ al-Qays describes his feelings, both regarding love, greed, sadness, spree, and so on relating to the conditions of the Arab environment. Likewise with other poets took the theme of poetry that was inseparable from the various Arab cultures.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an understanding of the phonemic meaning (dalālah ṣawṭīyah) in Arabic semantics. To provide an understanding related to dalālah ṣawṭīyah, this study carries out its research based on a philosophical framework of thought consisting of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. It can be concluded that the discussion of this research broadly discusses the ontology or nature of ṣawṭīyah, its epistemology or method, and the axiology or function of the branch of the discussion of semantics. This research is based on a literature review. In analyzing data obtained from the literature review, this study used qualitative methods. This research has revealed the nature of sound, how sound works, and the function of each sound method in the Arabic interpretation process. This research concludes that the sound in the dalālah ṣawṭīyah has an important role in determining meaning in all language structures starting from Arabic words, phrases, and sentences. The method of sound work in giving meaning to Arabic can be in the form of differences in phoneme sounds, sound stress (al-nabr) in syllables or words, as well as intonation (al-tanghīm) that occurs in a phrase or sentence.
